This is a beautiful rendition of Queen’s classic. Apologies to the world, I am totally ignorant of the band and the work of these artists, so my comments are truly on face value of this recording. The quartet are incredibly talented, their vocals are precise and the form is good. The bass voice is powerful, and with age it is most likely to mature to most distinguished of vocalists. This song itself is incredibly powerful but a bit eclectic, so very difficult to do a cover for, as there are so many issues there: interpersonal violence (“killing a man”), an end-of-life narrative, a fear of the passing. We all must remember that Freddie was iconic in leaving us all a most powerful message on his death bed before he died of AIDS. For those of us, particularly gay men, who lived through those times, those were years filled with fear, uncertainty and persecution, and this is fully reflected in the lyrics of this piece. It is as if Freddie was following Joyce ‘s stream of conscience and expressing his fears and anxieties in sound and words, jumping from one them to another. This song reflects this. Overall, well-done to the artists for a beautiful performance which I immensely enjoyed. I am hopeful that in future the band give the world more theatre on stage while they are performing, as this side of the rendition is yet to be elevated further. Forestella had north American concert tour in 2023, sold out throughout. They promised to have US tour again, being bigger with their live sessions and laser lighting. So don't miss it when they open the concert there! You'll see the video was nothing.
This is one of the best versions of this I’ve heard, of course Queen did it the best. There’s no one with a voice like Freddy Mercury. Having said that George Micheal did a very good “stand in” with Queen for Freddy after his death. He was the closest to Freddy’s voice.
