I've done the walk from Falkirk Wheel to Linlithgow a few times. Lovely walk. And once stopped in Linlithgow for a sandwich and a pint, then walked back to Falkirk again! That was a good day
Always relaxing to cozy up with a pint watch one of your videos Ed. You never cease to generate a smile and some serenity, and fuel my hopes to reside in, rather than occasionally visit, bonnie Scotland. Great Grandpa was from Argyll and Scotland always feels like home. Cheers!
My wife asked me to watch a TV show with her. Elvis' granddaughter was to be interviewed. I said I can't, Ed's going to eat his neighbour's tree. She gave me a strange look went off to the loungeroom. A brilliant video. You wanted a pee and couldn't have one. You wanted a pie and couldn't have one. Too bad if you wanted a pie and peas Ed! There are lots of annoying little things in life. Here they are selling beanies without a pom-pom. I'd like to start a movement to put the pom-pom back where it belongs. Keep the adventures coming Ed!
Cheers John. Of all the street protests in the world, I feel one about the lack of pom-poms is the one most worthy of huge demonstrations involving loud-hailers and drums.
An entertaining and enjoyable video thanks Ed. A few years back, while visiting my wifes family in Scotland we visted the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. ( They were both a feat of engineering). We actually took a short walk along the canal while there. Thanks again Ed.
I'm glad you made the effort, it's very pleasing being by the water, so relaxing 😊 and your sense of humour gives you laugh at the same time, great combination
Oh, how wonderful ! Thats us with our narrowboat "Patsy". How funny - such beautiful video have come out of it. Thank you for that! Greetings from Leipzig.
Well done on the trending shocked thumbnail but saddened to hear of the closure of Oliphant's. I always popped in when in Linlithgow. I was in Blackpool in September and remarked to a chap at the bus stop about his dog sitting on his boots, he said it was to keep her bottom warm. I didn't think I would ever have the opportunity to share that! Great viewing as always
Great video Ed, watched it last night and ended up going across to Linlithgow today! Grabbed some grub and an ale in the Four Marys on the way back (no trees on the menu sadly 🤪).
Brilliant video Ed one of the best and the 🎶music I must say was excellent😊linlithgo is a beautiful wee place it's a shame that bakers closed down there's a really good one quite famous for its home made pies it's called Clarke's Bakery it's been many years since I visited so who knows if that place still exists it's like everything else there one moment the next gone, the world indeed is a crazy place thanks again Ed for a well produced video 🎥
Ed, This was a beautiful walk and so peaceful along the canal. The longboats are just lovely and so graceful. The Fall colors are glorious. Thanks for sharing. Lynn in Naples FL. 😎
my grandfather used to work with the disabled and run canal boats from near falkirk high station in the boat house , used to go along the canal and through the tunnel , was grat fun as a kid.
Really enjoy your videos and your music, I just happened to have my best sound system in use when I watched this one and it sounded glorious. As an old git myself I can relate to the way you feel but in the last 4 years I discovered a game changer, which by my experience has changed all of what I thought was true. I thought it was about the weather and where I was and how much money I had etc, but now In my experience it is really only about how you are. If you can become happy and peacefull within yourself and not be affected by what is going on around you it is a game changer. You can not control what is happening in the world around you and the people, but you can control yourself and with he right guidance you can change how you feel to being happy and blissful. I say this only from my experience of it not because I read it in a book or was taught it. I wish this for everyone.
Many thanks for that. I'm always a little disappointed with the final rocky music in these videos because RUclips applies compression that invariably reduces the punch of that tune. I'll need to experiment further.
Ed you've fair cheered me up this cauld Tuesday morning as I sit in my van eating my Frosted Shreddiees and banana before going into work with your dog tale (geddit?). Hopefully you cheering me up makes you feel the video was worthwhile. I always maintain that if I can make one person a day smile or laugh then it was worth getting out of bed. Keep up the good work Fido woof woof
Hi Brian. Yes, that's a good philosophy, making at least one person smile every day. And sometimes that's all it needs: a smile instead of a self-centred glower to a passing stranger. 😊
Thanks Eddie. 17.20 pm. @the Windsor Lounge and Bar. Tuesday. Regards and condolences concerning recent death of Alex Salmond. Met Patrick here from Glasgow on passing retired hopefully okay.
Hi Ed, great video, that canal path is a favourite of mine, I've walked and cycled most of the length of it, and the part at the Falkirk wheel has a nice wee café to get a cuppa and a scone to revive you.
And there was me tuning in expecting to see you munching on an oak sandwich lol. The little cave/structure may have been an ice house. Hope you enjoyed the pints 🙂
Yes, an ice-house is a possibility. Someone else thought it may have been part of a limekiln. Certainly the way it burrowed deep into the sloping ground would make you think of an ice-house. I'm not sure. I'm off to practice my startled looks.
I am glad you walked through Glen looks nice I have walked along that canal a couple of times and walked north from the aqueduct towards linlithgow which was alright, good video!
Hi Ed saw the thumbnail but didn't note it other than thinking great stuff Ed's put a video up! What a beautiful scenic 'wee' donder as you put it. Autumn is my most favourite season the trees and sunshine..... lovely. No key...no pies but thankfully the pub didn't let you down. Stay well Ed and thank you
There's a strong element of I.M. Jolly that runs through your vlogs 😆 Aqueducts always carry water, even if they've got boats in it.(eg The Glasgow Corporation Water Board Pipeline) Viaducts carry roads but usually rail to reduce the incline to a manageable level for transport (eg Glenfinnan Viaduct) Bridges cross a specific obstacle (eg Forth Rail Bridge) All three are technically bridges, but not all bridges are aqueducts or viaducts.
Ah'm greetin awready, ah sis brought up oan Oliphant's pies, they were a staple. Guid an peppery. Ah think that wis the Pogle's Hoose ye found under that tree, mibbe they were inside shoutin 'Nae cameras!'... Lovely video, ta.
Hi Ed, your day hasn’t started very well…no toilets, no pie shop….heaven’s above! However a lovely day, beautiful scenery and trust you avoided the bus full of ramblers🤣 but nice to meet the “seat expert”. A rescue dog would be good for you, especially in the winter months. Great company. Also loved your melancholy song it went with your melancholy mood. Take care 🏴
Nice one Ed 👍 Seeing the barges put me in mind of the boys week away we'd have down in Cheshire on the barge. Slow and laid back , just park up outside a pub , a bite to eat, a pint or twa then off again. Only ever had one fall in and that was in the very early 80's lol We've never barged up here.
Just happened upon your chanel. It is excellent. Informative and funny. Your music is great too. I'm a bit longer in the tooth than you so I can advise you. Keep getting out no matter the seasons. And keep posting these videos and writing these tunes. Stay out of lydl or your bp will skyrocket and we don't want that to happen to talented gents like you.
If you had your time again , I’d not have met you . I’m happy I did . I have a little moon light , ‘it’s good for S.A. D. (Seasonal affective Disorder );really enjoyed video & your observational humour . Toni
Yip! Public toilets are more or less a thing of the past in Linlithgow. Pretty sure there's one hidden away at the Canal Basin, just opposite the cat statue!
A very interesting walk. I've never been to that neck of the woods. Maybe a future thumbnail with a startled look could have the caption ''I never saw a UFO''. 😁 A search for UFO videos shows a lot of thumbnail popping eyes, which usually means disappointing content. Perhaps that title would get more views.😁
Great video, Eddy! Chic Murrayesque on the dog at the pedestrian crossing story. 😂👏👍
Cheers Robert. I don't think there's any getting away from it... dogs are amazing!

It's a long long tunnel under Callendar Park. Very atmospheric with lights and waterfalls.

Cheers Margaret. I think what I need's a rescue pie.
Have to say I hadn't even noticed the thumbnail until you mentioned it, and then I put it down to being the on the cusp of Samhain.
Watching you on tv can't comment there,so came on to phone ,great video as always thanks
Yes, the moon does strange hings.
Great as always
I crossed the Avon aqueduct this summer when I was doing the John Muir Way, nice area for a walk.
Great video as always Ed, shame about the pie.
Lovely area indeed.
You can buy a RADAR key off bay to access Disabled toilets. Quite useful.
That's interesting.
Cracking video as always Ed. Seriously though, whit happened that tree? Was it because you never got a pie?
Tough goin. I've still got bark which I'll have for ma tea with a nice wine.
I was surprised to see so many barges in the area. A good sign.

Lovely video Eddie
Thanks Alan.
And I thought you ate your neighbours "Pastree", sorry Ed😟! Keep up the good work please🤠❤
Cheers guys.
Check out , halloween pend lambhill. Never knew there were stairs under that aquaduct
Many thanks. I'll need to check that out.
That wee arch is probably a limekiln! Tons of them in the country side around linlithgow
Yes, I think you're right. Limekilns were mentioned in an information panel. Lovely way that tree has grown and spread over the top of it.
Thanks for that Ed it gave me a good laugh.
Yip! Public toilets are more or less a thing of the past in Linlithgow.

Kinda looking like ticket offices will also be a thing of the past.

Hi Ed 👋
Hi I always think Linlithgow escaped from Wales and settled in Scotland.
Atb.
It's a lovely place that perhaps suffers from too many vehicles.
@@EdExploresScotland Its probably Welsh folk looking for their
lost town Linlithgow...gogogo
The new bakers that took over from Oliphants opened today so you were just too early
I'll check them out when next in town. 👍
