Another excellent video thanks Ed. Such a lovely day to be strolling the hills, albeit maybe a little too hot. The area certainly is picturesque. Thanks for sharing.
Super wee film, I know that route well as a Moffat regular in my campervan. This weekend it's Arran and glen Rosa in my tent with my wee dug. Cheers for posting.
That bell Ed......You are such a child....or perhaps a juvenile delinquent (👍👍👍)! As a Man "Of A Certain Age"....How Many Summers hits home. Always enjoy and appreciate your Videos Ed...even though sometimes you just can't resist being a delinquent!
It was good to see you doing the 👹devil's 🛀bathtub😂 i had a good chuckle at that one and as for the wood gatherer he is gonna be wild at you lol 😂 excellent video once again thanks Ed... 😊
Ed, you ringing the bell and running from 'the wood gatherer' gave me a good laugh! Nice to see your walk and thanks for the info as usual. I had to look up Moffat, as I've never ventured south of Edinburgh, except for a more westward drive around south Lanarkshire. Slàinte Mhaith!
Hi Ed, another great video, Moffat and the surrounding area area favourite of me and the wife, and indeed her father and mother. I've not walked a lot in the area apart from low level street stuff.
Hi,I thought tou were saying muppet made me chuckle. l loked it up and it is Mof+uht. Looks a bit bigger than I remeber, being snow stranded there on the way back from London in1985. Walking in the hills in hot sunny weather is very draining, the air seems less energy friendly. ATB
Not actually huffing and puffing as much as you hear. I'm still wrestling with final video audio volumes. This one was a little quiet (only 0.5db!), so RUclips 'normalised' it up a bit. In doing so they must use compression, and this has the effect of making background noises like huffing and puffing much louder than they actually are. The sound in this video on RUclips is very different to the sound of the actual video before upload.
Great video again ed. ive been down there alot of times on my motorbike. Fantastic roads but you need to be careful! Milngavie week starts this sat with the milngavie classic car show. Il be along on one of my... bikes haha. Hopefully the weather improves!
About 30 years ago I would regularly drive from north England to Edinburgh.. always went through moffat. Now though the a701 is used as a public race track! No thanks..
Beautiful area that I know little about. Looks worth a visit. I’m beginning to think that you actually are The Stone/Wood Gatherer but you don’t know it. 🥸
I certainly hope you have a great many more summers to see
Hi Ed. Thank you ❤️ 21.24pm. Sunday 🌃 nite Irish time. Enjoying and interesting. We have Bank Holiday Monday. Kind regards Niall O'Connell Eire.

The quality red sandstone is from Templand quarry. Kelvin Hall was built from the same stone
Great video with stunning scenery take care until next time
Thanks Robert. 👍
Beauty walk. Nice place to hike. Few " atta boys ", for your efforts. Appreciate this, from canader.
Another great video, Eddy, and loved your outro music. Mx
Cheers Mairi.

It's looking like a decent weekend, weather wise. Enjoy your trip.

It's a lovely area of the country. Definitely worth a look. 👍
Really enjoyed that, an area I've only ever driven past (A74M}. Views were lovely. Nice little town too.
Lots of walks in the area.

There are some shorter walks signposted in the area, like one for Gallow Hill, etc.

Great video Ed
Thanks Alan. 👍
The days are drawing in for us Eddie but good advice
love this part of of the country
Ed. Have you noticed that everything is uphill? Even when you go downhill it's still uphill. Thanks for the video. Always enjoyed.
It's like a twisted vortex that challenges physics!
Huffing and puffing there Eddie 😂 Good video as always 👌

There were certainly lots of bikers on the road that passes the Devil's Beef Tub.
Thoroughly enjoyed this one Ed. Moffat is on our list to do one day. Always curious about what pie you have!
Breakfast at the Buccleuch Arms was soo huge I didn't need to eat for a week, so no pie required.
Beef tub beef tub oh yeahh baybeee
Could the Devil's Beef Tub be a place where the reivers hid the cattle they had 'lifted', while they were being pursued?
Did you know that you were standing in the dead centre of Moffat during your intro ?
All that way and we didn’t get a view of the Beef Tub 😩
It's in shot in the final chat, and just before.

Hi is it true that the ram was scuppered with no ears and the sculperer committed suicide at his mistake dos anybody know if its a fake story
Not got a clue David, but the internet does have some information on it.
A wan pie’r 👍
A nae pie'r. Huge breakfast lasted whole day.
Beautiful area that I know little about. Looks worth a visit.
I’m beginning to think that you actually are The Stone/Wood Gatherer but you don’t know it. 🥸
I always wondered why I had a small pile of stones in the corner of the living-room.
