I use the organic Better than Bouillon because it is made without dairy ingredients. Most store bought stocks and bouillon have milk ingredients. I really like the flavor but I am surprised that it beat out so many other brands. They have it at Costco for a great price.
Thank you Katie. Glad you liked this video and commented. We have been using BTB for many years, mostly because it gives you flexibility on how much to use and when. I don't have to freeze a little-used quart when I only need a cup (or buy a bunch of overpriced cans, etc.) Plus it just tastes better.
Hello Eric... Thanks for the reviews guys I somewhat use Swanson chicken broth and beef broth every chance I can get. But since I am a Campbell's fan I try to stay start with Campbell's also. This was truly a great video and I can only imagine what your taste buds had to go through with tasting all of those different kinds with chicken broth. Thank you for making this awesome review for us all, but since you have so many types of chicken broth do you think you guys can do a video making egg drop soup with your favorite chicken broth? Thank you so much for taking the time out for making this awesome review.
Thank you Ray for watching and commenting. We always joke about how bad this stuff tastes, but please continue to use what you have always used that works. This was one set of taste buds (all shot up). I'm thinking some of those brands expect you to severely reduce when cooking, that's the only way they can generate any flavor. If you just dump and serve, then it's pretty much useless. As for using our 'favorite', that will be easy. It's in the fridge. The others are in frozen baggies. Do you have a suggestion for something that can benefit from even tasteless broth/stock? We'll research the egg drop soup and do one of those. Thanks for the suggestion!
Ray Mack's Kitchen and Grill Maybe you can mix a little bit of the chicken base into the ones that lost to improve the flavor. Otherwise, Eric has a whole lot of bad chicken broth to eat in the next few weeks. LOL! The egg drop soup should get the good stuff :)
Ray Mack's Kitchen and Grill Thanks :-) I thought I'd pick your brain. Perhaps it will make a good weed killer once the ground thaws (just kidding). Most of it was simply weak and others tasted more like veggies. I might use it as a base to boil some rotisserie chicken bones to improve the flavor and not waste it.
I am also a user of Better Than Bouillon products too. I like them because they can keep for a long time in the fridge and you can control how much you use. Great video today, thanks for review all of those products.
Robert Peters BTB was the clear winner. I tasted all the samples and I felt almost sick at the end. This taste test was definitely an eye opener for me. Usually you taste them in isolation but having all the different brands at the same time made me realize how bad commercial chicken broth really is...Better Than Bouillon wins this one hands down.
Enjoyed the chicken broth showdown. Your winner confirmed what I predicted-- I've been using Better Than Bouillon products for about 10 years now. Comes in beef, chicken, roast beef, turkey and even flavors like mushroom and clam. When there's no time to create from scratch, these are my go to broths. Because you can adjust the flavor easily by adding a bit more of the base/paste as you go, you can dial in the depth of flavor you want. Cool review, guys.
I agree with what you said. Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. We love BTB!!! So much cheaper than buying Swanson's and you can make as little or much as you want.
ruclips.net/video/GDjS1KX2PrA/видео.html bone broth in a clay pot ruclips.net/video/ArqLvI7-ya0/видео.html turkey stock in a pressure cooker Hope that helps
Thank you Sherry. Glad you enjoyed. I have used College Inn a few times in the past before we stumbled across Better than Boulion. It is relatively inexpensive and did the job. Commercial broths are convenient, but really hit or miss, thus why we decided to make this video. Some were outright disgusting or bland like water.
Eric Learns to Cook last night I sent my husband to the store for College Inn and he came home with the WORST POSSIBLE, SWANSON !!! YIKES !!!! I WAS SO MAD, I EVEN SENT HIM WITH A PICTURE ON HIS PHONE. UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!
Buzz Dean Yeah...sorry about that. I am just learning to make videos and my camera and editing skills aren't that great. I am working on it tho. :) Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
Michele, thanks for your comments and glad you liked the video. I had never done chicken broth shots before, so I had NO idea of what we were getting ourselves into. Amy abandoned her participation after a few shots. Regarding the shorts, you are very sharp. I wear shorts year round, often shoveling snow in them without wearing a jacket. Sunday was much better weather after the storm passed Saturday night. I had thought of filming on Saturday, but it would not have been good for Amy, the camera, and our viewers. It was much warmer that day than it normally is. I am a 'snow lover' and a wannabe 'snow bro' on our local weather website. We have some possible storms this upcoming weekend. I'll see how we can incorporate that into experimental baking videos.
I love Better Than Bouillon, I knew it would be first. My other favorite, which I sometimes combine with BTB is Kitchen Basics. The reason College Inn came in 2nd is because it is loaded with MSG. I am highly allergic to MSG, so I stay away Thanks for doing this. It was fun.
You have a very good presentation voice Eric but why did you start the video with you outside, using a narrow angle shot of a neighbourhood? Couldn't really see much detail or anything and it was just hard to understand..
Thank you for commenting. I'll start with the why and then the 'what went wrong'. I wanted to get our fresh snow in a video somehow. I felt that if you have been "hunkered down" for a few days as many around here have been, they might just get the urge to cook. What better way to cook, than to use some chicken broth or stock. The other part is that this day, the temps soared into the forties, which is 'camera safe'. I didn't want to jeopardize my camera in sub-freezing weather. Besides, it was just so BEAUTIFUL out there. She had zoomed out to get far more and slowly zoomed in. However, after exporting the video the zoom was blocky. We chose to edit that out.
Hello Amy and Eric:) I must apologise I haven't been around but there has been a death in the family and so only now am I getting back to watching videos and having a giggle:) I hope to catch up with these and you both really soon x
Thank you for watching. I just re-watched it. I guess I was on a roll with the sarcasm that day. But drinking all that bath water will do that to you. Glad you enjoyed it. LOL!!!
Someone tell me why you can't buy chicken broth that's just chicken broth. The only ingredient on the label should be Water, Chicken, Salt. After reading about 20 different labels today, I bought split chicken breasts for .88 Cents/Lb, Making my own broth. Campbell's chicken broth is double strength @ $1.78/can, contains real chicken fat. You should try it.
Funny! I was just talking to a friend about Chicken Broth, and how it smells like Fart most of the time. I recently switched over to the Low Sodium Simple Truth Organic/Free Range Chicken Broth, Sold at Krogers/affiliate stores (Fred Meyers & QFC, here in WA). Will have to check out Better Than Bouillon, if it's MSG Free!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I'll be "nice" to the chicken broth industry and just say that I'm not a fan of doing chicken broth shots, but it does makes for a funny video. Better Than Bouillon has an FAQ site that claims they don't add MSG nor contain any ingredients that contain MSG,but state if they did contain MSG, it would be listed on their label. You would want to read this site and make your decision from how they word things. There are ingredients that typically contain or only work with MSG, so it could be an issue. They state their organic items are certified by bodies like Quality Assurance International to ensure accurate and transparent ingredient statements, so it would interesting to see if their organic items have fewer questionable ingredients than their non-organic items.
Of course i picked the great value one as im cooking my roast....blah lol....good thing i seasoned it before hand and left it in refrigerator for an hour...oh sorry Rachel Ray...do better!
OK, OK, already. Geesh. I get the ideal. Four videos? That's quite impressive. I CAN make oatmeal cookies. You listening Amy??? If you want any oatmeal cookies, just ask me on some of your videos. Ha! I'll see if I can squeeze this in next weekend in between Amy's battle of the Breville and Kitchen Aid food processors!
Eric Learns to Cook Yeah oatmeal cookies....ones that are soft and chewy and not the usual ones Eric LOL!! :) you have your work cut out for you Eric because you've only made cookies one time before.
"Better Than Bouillon" does taste much better than those packets that come in the Ramon Noodle packs, BUT it's garbage, because it gives me serious gas problems. Other than the hyped up reviews by the company that produces it, there's not much talk about it, not from what I've seen. Lastly, they tell you to refrigerate it after opening, but give no indication on the bottle how long it lasts in the frigdge once opened.
Never buy Presidents Choice Organic Chicken Broth. Just ruined my entire dish of potato leak soup, has this disgusting earthy taste/smell to it. Why they even make it is beyond me.
Herb ox I'd such a guilty pleasure of mine its so salty and that's what I love about it
Better Than Bouillon all the way! I keep the chicken, turkey, beef, and chili base in my fridge constantly.
I use the organic Better than Bouillon because it is made without dairy ingredients. Most store bought stocks and bouillon have milk ingredients. I really like the flavor but I am surprised that it beat out so many other brands. They have it at Costco for a great price.

Katie Cooks and Crafts I didn't realize that the regular one has dairy. Thanks for that info!
I too use Better Than Bouillon. Good to know it came at #1. Thanks for your test taste.
phoenixsun31 It was my go to as well. It doesn't surprise me that it won. It has so much more flavor that the others. Thanks for watching!
Spoiler alert
I wonder how the flavour profi of each might change if each broth was slightly heated?
He used a cookie as a pallet cleanser? 😅
This guy should automatically get a RUclips award. He went IN !

Sad to say Eric i have no suggestions my friend.

Thank you so much for this, you’ve helped a ton and it was extremely entertaining. 🥘♥️
Thanks for doing the dirty work for us! Great video and much appreciated 👍.
When I say “hilarious” this was awesome 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the intro with the mitts standing outside took the cake 😂😂😂😂😂
I didn’t notice the mitts until I read your comment 😂😂😂😂😂
Totally agree. That stuff is so good I could eat it out of the jar.
I am also a user of Better Than Bouillon products too. I like them because they can keep for a long time in the fridge and you can control how much you use. Great video today, thanks for review all of those products.
Thank you for your comments. Glad you liked the video. We also like BTB for the reasons you mentioned.

College Inn is like a drink of water. How did it get to #2???

I’m loving this already, and I haven’t finished it yet. 😅🥘♥️
Very informative always wondered which was the best
Homemade of course is best amd is extremely easy. Howeverrrrr Swanson chicken and\or beef broth is best!!!! The best!!
Do bone broth next PLEASE. This video was very helpful to me.
ruclips.net/video/GDjS1KX2PrA/видео.html bone broth in a clay pot
ruclips.net/video/ArqLvI7-ya0/видео.html turkey stock in a pressure cooker
Hope that helps
I want to know how long can you keep this broth on the shelf? Is there something I can do to increase that time?
The package should have a use by date. Thanks for watching!
I knew collagen was going to be up there, I have been using it for many many many many years. I'm surprised it wasn't number one the best

decent reviews but dragged too long--especially the rankings
Buzz Dean Yeah...sorry about that. I am just learning to make videos and my camera and editing skills aren't that great. I am working on it tho. :) Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
Is chicken broth available in robinsons supermarket?
what fun video Nice Job you two..And you did get snow sorry about that.Love how your still in Shorts.

So you just pour them out of the container & drink em like that? No specific way to do something with it before consuming
Google "how to use chicken broth stock"
I knew that better than bullion was gonna win. I love and cook with that myself
My homemade chicken broth is made from boiling a whole chicken , fat and all. You can't beat it!
Hilarious! Dry sense of humor, I love it. Especially since I'm shopping for a decent tasting broth for the next few days for a cold. Thank you.
Nothing beat basics.
No surprise on the Rachel Ray
Hello Amy and Eric:) I must apologise I haven't been around but there has been a death in the family and so only now am I getting back to watching videos and having a giggle:) I hope to catch up with these and you both really soon x
Natasha Conner Oh no. I am sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I hope that you are ok.
I was wondering where you were hiding. I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope your family has the strength to deal with this tragedy.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video! Hahaha!
Thank you for watching. I just re-watched it. I guess I was on a roll with the sarcasm that day. But drinking all that bath water will do that to you. Glad you enjoyed it. LOL!!!

Juanita Brown It is the best! I was very surprised how bad most of them tasted. The BTB was much better than all the rest.
YES!! It makes your food taste sooo good:)

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
Thank you Sheay
