  • Todays video I am rebuilding our Hayward Northstar Pump that runs the Waterfall on the pool. Things got pretty messy with this rebuild and I wound up just having to replace the motor on this unit due do the water leak that it had for many years. All said and done the pump works great now and I have gained all the space I was looking to gain inside the Pool Pump House for storage.

Thank you so much for taking the time. This is exactly what I needed to see to be comfortable with replacing my seals.

Great video , but I cannot get the house to close. Everything is lubed and new oring , yet it will not close. Aligned with slot ( top ) as well. Any advice , we used some serious leverage and it would go in on one side and not the other.

I would try without the o ring, also look at the oring on the diffuser to make sure it’s the right size. It could be holding you up.
If it goes together smooth without the Orings. Then just confirm you ve got the right ones and lubed them up and force it together. If I recall the first time was pretty tuff with mine too.

I have the same problem. The motor with oring would not fit into the housing even with significant force. It fit fine without the oring. Any tips?
