The Mad Wag style of curly tail SLAYS perch for me here in Sweden. It's something about that wide, erratic kicking motion that "ordinary" thin grub tails simply cannot replicate. Bought my first (cheapish) BFS combos last winter and haven't fished much else all year! So much so that I've started selling off of my heavier lures around 1/2oz and over...
The Megabass karashi has been destroying for me all year long. My setup of choice for it is my Megabass P5 cliffhanger thrilling paired up with my 2020 Daiwa steez air 500HL. Thank you for the bfs content Debo I think you should make more of these types of videos. Bfs fishing is only gonna get more popular in the coming years and if you haven’t tried it you definitely need to. Tight lines brotha have an amazing week.
Thanks for sharing your product review, I’m really looking forward to learning and having setups dedicated to bfs for river fishing. Drew Gregory who hosts the kayak adventure series one of his tournaments is a micro bag for the 5 smallest bass! Loving it! Tight lines take care and God bless
I remember getting into bfs during the "underground" popularity wave, where really the only budget option was the tsurinoya xf 50 and there were only 2 videos of it on youtube, every video was either in Japanese or just a dubstep casting montage, and all the reels had crazy cool paint schemes with aftermarket handles and spools. Awesome to see how its grown and get the full popularity wave. Seems to be sticking around and I'm glad for it. Things have changed a lot since the 2016/17 wave and now I get to watch all my favorite youtubers try it out! Keep it up man love the ultralight/ finesse vids!
I started BFS that Summer and won't put it down. Yes, I caught lots of 1lb bass, but have also landed several 4lb - 6lb fish. My favorite part is that I catch 10 - 20 fish on a trip and am having a blast with new types of lures that I've not thrown before. Overall, it's been a great change up and I'm anxious to see how it works through the winter in the Southeast.
@@BrandonAdams1010 yes I fish from Tracker aluminum boat. Because the bass are moving shallower right now, casting to the bank has been my go to which has less opportunities for hang ups. Over the past few months I have had a few XL size bass break my line when I was bottom fishing with finesse jigs in structure. My BFS setup just didn't have the horsepower and strength to muscle them out. I should've throw my regular gear into those gnarly spots anyhow.
Hey Debo, have always used a grub on a ball head great all around lure. Ned rig, drop shot, those smaller spinner baits like the booyah pond magic have really been fun this year. A welcome addition to the arsenal. Don’t limit yourself 👊
You know it, I ove throwin' the BFS , Big Frickin' Swimbaits🤣 Seriously, yeah, I just scored a Lews Custom Lite S.S.Spinning reel off a give away, now I need to match up a rod for some dink hunting !!
Still fishing small grubs with curlytail. I use the berkley urban micro spinnerbait 3g both the hook that has a realy "flat" head but use the spinnerblade exstantion on a bunch of stuff. Even on hardbaits. :)
The B=Vibe is a fantastic bait. I've been using them for a couple of years. They pair up well with the Eurotackle ball head swimbait jig, & the Z-Man Micro Shad headz. Caught some really nice bass on them, & bluegill want to kill them on sight! Nice vid Debo, as always! Tight lines!
thanks for sharing i do what i call like a bass bfs with just like a 70 mgl and a ml baitcasting rods i can throw down to 1/16 oz jig with small plastic about 1 Debo finger long and 1/8 oz spinnerbaits and cranks
I have been throwing the B-Vibe on their 1/32 tungsten jig all year when things get tough. It seems to always produce a bite from something. Thanks for sharing, I have a few things to order. BTW I remember seeing the rat poison rat with red eyes at the Co-op with my grandpa too!
I've been having a blast with my bfs ultra light. I fish extremely pressured ponds and always catch since going to bfs. There is usually 3 men hurling large baits that land with a great splash. Needless to say they leave with no bites.
I've been down sizing this year with plastics and a 1/8th oz slip sinker. Been forced to because of fishing pressure on public waters. Seems to help some but still not the answer. I do really enjoy your videos.
Honestly been peeking through the bushes like Homer Simpson on all this BFS stuff, but have yet to pull the trigger on a casting BFS combo. I have some very light tackle that I just throw on my wife’s Expride ML spinning combo when she’s not fishing with me. No hurry to fully commit I guess 😂
Love the T Shirt my friend and man those little tails have amazing action and it seems like time to downsize with the cold water. Good luck out there Devon and stay safe.
Your channel is great. You showed BFS content so I started looking into it. But what really sealed the deal was I ran into an elderly angler who was fishing size 6 hook 1/32nd jig heads with small grubs. He was catching crappie, bass, shad. He saw I wasn’t catching anything and then ended up giving me a jig with a bag of small grubs. I tied it up and we we spent 2 hours catching fish after fish. It was a blast. Couple days later I bought two packs of the Zman micro finesse jig heads and micro ticklerz. I’m throwing them on spinning gear as I’m messing around with it. …. After using the small jigs, my usual drop shot setup feels like I’m power fishing.
@@DEBOSFishing it really is. I put together 2 3200 sized boxes, one rod boxes pretty much. My spinning box now has micro baits and my medium casting box has 1/0 hooks for 2” free rig baits. I’ve caught blue gill, crappie, bass, catfish, pickerel. For those days when I just want to catch whatever is biting. I learned the Alberto knot from you so I switched to mainline braid and carry 6, 10, and 14 lb line in bag for those one rod one box days.
I bet it would a great ultralight wacky worm and a great unboxs i have get a bfs setup but not really used yet because got some micro lures the rod is a light power and it just want cast them do you have any ideas on some
I made the mistake when I ordered from eurotackle and got these 1” paddle tails. Definitely smaller than I was thinking for the jig head I had on hand.
I use nothing but 10#ish bfs, nano or micro braid 8x to a leader. I use 6# to 8# leader. The small diameter braid makes casting easy but allows to have way more line plus more strength in your lines. Its the size of 2# to 4# mono. The only reason for 6# to 8# braid or 2# to 4# other lines is uf your casting ultra light lures. For regular bfs bass fishing what i use is perfect. I can cast 1/16th oz jigs as far as i need to lol its like casting a 1/2oz jig on a regular baitcaster.
To save money order the jdm stiff from one of the jdm Japan sites. I looked recently and what's 10$ plus here is 4 to 6$ on those sites when it comes to soft plastics. Megabass stuff was up to 10$ maybe more cheaper than here. And they guarantee fast shipping like 5 to 7 days lol. That's as fast as most here 😂.
I have several trays of micro lures that I’ve always thrown on spinning gear. But I’m being pulled into BFS and will likely fail to resist the temptation. Cold water bass love the small stuff in the fall!
can never have to much lures, i recently picked up a Strike king 3x baby z-too and 4" super finesse worm super stoked to try them out next fishing trip
I have 1 casting rod a 7ft med baitcaster and i am going to pick a med heavy fast one that is 7ft. What line would you suggest if those are the only 2 baitcasters i will have . I am in the midwest if that matters. (go hawks) I also want to mainly fish bottom contact lures with some moving baits and topwaters thrown in when i can. I am only bank fishing if that helps
Not interested in BFS, not against it either. I grew up UL spinning. All my dad threw for bass was a light Mr. Twister spinner (original nuclear fallout chartreuse only) on a 4'8" Ugly Stik (which i still have and use).
Not interested in BFS but I will watch your videos on it to help support your channel. Nice shirt Debo!

Do you fish from boat? I want to try the small stuff in FL but don't want to catch a chonker. Was thinking of trying with a medium light rod.
