I really like this suggestion. I do a limited amount of dry when doing live at the range, but the logic of incorporating more dry fire into my live fire sessions is undeniable.

Good advice. You recommended this before I am doing the combo. It works!

This way of training just makes sense whether or not ammo is an issue. Thanks Ben!

I have no idea why, but it has never occurred to me to try this. I'm going to give it a shot next week during practice.

I love DF at home and on the range. Alternate dummy rounds in a mag let you practice malfunction, trigger pull AND most importantly slow you down on ammo burn. I get a lot outta DF work. Highly recommend. Thanks Ben for all the great content.

Absolutely, thank you Ben. Your training materials and putting it into practice ( dry fire - live fire) has helped me immensely to get the most out of my training both from a time and expense perspective. Thank you so much for writing your books and putting out helpful videos.

I’ve been doing this for mini stages and it is absolutely effective. It also helps me do my walk thrus at a more realistic pace

Thanks, great video. I needed the reminder to dry fire more at the range.

Heh, just thought about applying this concept more consciously recently. Small tidbits like these help immensely!

Hey Ben, first thanks for all the great insight to self improvement. My question, do you see any value in .22 pistols as a trainer? Please elaborate why/why not.
    Thanks!

Ammo prices are high and so are reloading components. Not sure if it pays to reload 9mm vs. buying rn. Buy .223 for about 60 cents or load for about 30. YMMV.

Any opinion on the cool fire trainer before dropping 3-4 Hundred on it?

I know what the coolfire system is, but the question you've got to answer for yourself is, what's it going to do for you? Recoil management? It's a lot weaker than live fire so no real benefit, grip technique? Being honest with yourself during dry practice is far cheaper. Sight/dot acquisition? If your index and fundamentals are good in dry practice, should be good live. Want see the laser hits on target without racking on every shot? SIRT pistols way cheaper. Trigger control training? C'mon man. What are you fingering in dry practice? Buttholes don't count. Cool factor? Really? Just use the money for ammo or classes.
