Started to go downhill after 2009 until AA: Proving grounds, but still... Nothing beats 2002-2009. Some of the best times I've ever had and brotherhoods made. This game will always have a soft spot in my heart. Peace from London!

This video.... dude, seriously, AA2 was the most amazing gaming experience I have ever had... so sad AA3 just ruined it :/ The music seriously brought me back so much.
***** I agree so much with this sentiment. The music, AA3 ruining the development of AA2. It's so fucking hard to believe how much time goes by, I'm 24 now, I was playing this game when I was fuckin 12. That's half my life! I remember when I first got into this game, I joined a clan and tried claiming I was 18 with a high pitched voice! LOL! Then began an addiction to computer games, I seriously became obsessed with the game. Practicing grenade bounces off doors, prefiring and headshotting people coming around the corner, breaching rooms.... Nothing will ever compare to this game. Counter Strike comes close, but the goofy gun mechanics will always throw me off. I don't care what anyone says, whoever decided in the original 1.6 that your bullets shouldn't go where your crosshair is, is a damn moron.
aww man the good ol' days. I can honestly say that swamp raid and jrtc farm were one of the best experiences I have ever had in a shooting game, the level of realism in the combat was simply unparalleled

To all those who were required to do MILES training before going into live fire matches. To those who finally best SF E&E training after hours of attempts. We salute you.
I was addicted to this game for two years then my computer crapped out. I was a sfcourtyard junkie. I would run m4 single fire and own ass on that map. I miss realistic damage and physics games like this. I wish battlefield would accomplish what this game did but sadly battlefield is going the same direction as AA, trying to become COD
I consider America's Army 2 as the pinnacle of FPS gaming. The feel of everything is just spot on for *the perfect FPS experience*. Too bad it's over now.
Miss and loved this game so much. It truly was the best FPS of its time nothing even came close to competing. Playing with all the guys from iog especially herpes and Loco taught me so much. Much love from your friend jCp-$tealth.
Playing against JCp helped me improve a lot at the game. Used to play as =WFC=CrushedICE. Urban assault and SF pipeline were my jam but I spent a good amount of time on the jCp farm raid server for the challenge. Good times.
The best game ever! I played it from 2002 till 2005, took a break for a while and started playing it from 2007 till 2012. I was addicted to this game played the shit out of the Bridge and Pipeline maps. I failed one school year because of this game, I knew I wasn't make it so heh fuck it I said gimme my honor points. Once I had a dream, I was in this game fighting on that Afghan map (forgot it's name) and later in Bridge. IT WAS THE BEST AND COOLEST DREAM I EVER HAD! Miss this game, they totally ruined it with their stupid shit. "Grandma was slow but she was old".
Vid needs love for SF Sandstorm, my fav map. What a great time to play games the 2000's were, imo games were much better then. Last time i played AA was 2007, kinda barely played it then, 2002-2005 i really burned AA up. Moved on to PS3/360 and found Killzone 2, another beast game. Games to remember forever.
Here's my ideas on Proving Grounds: It is definitely more arcade-like than the earlier games with its reduced weapon damage, increased HUD information, and the ability to revive teammates. However, the core fundamentals of the game are still there; the maps are smaller and the time limit pushes the players, but the teamwork is still there as well as the tactics. The tactics and gameplay may have changed due to the new design, yet they continue to be a key part of the game. Just because it does not feel the same as the original games does not mean Proving Grounds is a bad game. I will note however, that this is written during the beta, 2015. From what I have seen that the developers PLAN on doing is a different story. From what I can tell, they plan on adding a lot more ammo to a person's armament, minimized recoil, and hitmarkers, as well as whatever other arcade-style design choices they decide to make. Why the hitmarkers? And lack of recoil? The developers can change the game to be smaller and round based which presents a more intense sense of urgency to complete objectives and eliminate enemy players - that is completely fine. What they cannot do, is lose touch of the universal gameplay elements present in the previous installations, and they definitely cannot lose sight of the original purpose of the game: to create a game that will "be engaging, informative, and entertaining."So to those who continue to shout their praises for AA2 and such, please give this game and chance. To the developers of the game Proving Grounds, do not lose sight of America's Army's original gameplay, and more importantly, its purpose. If you hate what I've said, go ahead and reply or you can personally destroy me on Steam with my username hyperboy177. I actually would like to hear what other people have to say besides what has already been mentioned a hundred times.
"Enemy spotted!" Psycho-n00b aka -$-FuGaZi-$- reporting in Sir! Played it with my brother El_N00biachi in 2002 till 2006. Started at Bridge Crossing then switched over to Mountain Pass. Mountain Ambush was my second map. Got over 2k hours longest session was 11 hours lol. Love the clans back then: MPSquad, Agents Ops, Hoba's, -MDS- etc etc. Good times never coming back......take care guys and girls. "Frag out!"

I wish they had this out again Bridge crossing Pipeline Weapons cache Mt mckenna Urban assault Collapsed tunnel Sf Hospital Farm raid Insurgent Camp it's all they needed I would defiantly play this again if I knew the old AA was back and I think alot of other would too
Last best AA was 2.6. really missed this times, only game i played over 1k hours, with my clans mates. Jesus i love this 2.6 so much. After 2.6 AA get worst and worst
damn I played from 2002- 2005. My clan was SSOC] I don't know if that clan is still around but we were so good people thought we were cheating all the time. I loved Pipeline and Bridge. I remember I didn't like some of the new changes to the old maps though when I came back to it later on. I miss just the game play of it before when it was just simple to go on and play it. It was just too much later.
@HB C =[13SC]=Greatone or TheGreatOne88 before i got swooped up by my clan hahahaha man, i can remember that shit like it was yesterday. I had soo much fun playing that game from when 1.3 came out i believe. I so wish they kept those old servers up, cause i promise you id be playing it now. I loved that game soo much, it edges out mw2 and halo3 for me an i was hooked to those 2 like heroin. All the nights id get into arguments with my mom cause "I HAD TO BE ON AT 7 FOR CLAN PRATICE SO I CAN GET MOVED UP TO ALPHA SQUAD MOM!!" bridge, hospital, weapons cache, insurgents camp, swamp....but my all time, hand down favorite(ironically the one i was the best at too) MOUT McKenna
Now that you mention it, SSOC sounds like a clan we use to pratice with for TWL matches. i agree when the SF stuff came in, it was at its best imo. Not the last training session to get SF tho. I CRAWLED FOR LIKE 2 DAMN HOURS NOT TO BE DETECTED HAHA im gonna try the 2.5 AAO they have up and see if that work. Im itching to play again!
One of the fondest memories I had: I was about to log out and decided to do a hail mary on Bridge Crossing. I dumped all my gear save for a frag grenade and an M9 then booked it towards the center of the bridge. Chucked the grenade at the feet of an enemy and kept running. I took out one or two with the grenade and a third with the M9 before I was found out, but man it felt good to sow that bit of chaos into that round.
Weapons Cache, Bridge and pipeline were the ones I loved most. I haven't played since then though due to being kicked out of the clan for disagreeing with one of our admins but still had a blast. Think I started on 2.0, was around 02/03 then stopped at about 05. I played with FS (The Firing Squad) and still remember a few folks just wish I knew what they were up too now.
@@kinstar I agree AA3 was decent, not the king like 2.8.5 or whatever that last really good patch was but it wasn't as horrible as most of those veteran players claimed it was.
Development is already underway. I really hope it brings back a lot of AA's playerbase, as there are less than 1000 players that play as of now as opposed to the 9 million of AA2. Only about 300 or less, max, at any given time.
I use to also play this game,my favorite map was mpse my name was launcher ,clan name was OSS offices of strategic services, every enemy hated when I had m203 lol, assault was my favorite
Well I remember playing this game, it was awesome a long time ago. Back in the days when you could choose to be the enemy and configurate weapons all you want. I miss those days. I also miss parking the humvee too close to the doors on snakeplain and then someone opens them and they somehow get stuck inside the humvee. Those were the days.
miss this game. I play Rainbow Six: Siege now and it reminds me of my days playing aa2, it has a very similar gameplay pace in terms of needing to be cautious due to realistic bullet damage. If you miss this game I urge you to check it out.
I love these games. When Proving grounds came out i was like, probs not good. 2 months later i had no money to buy the cod game on pc i wanted. So i downloaded proving grounds and now im hooked!
America's Army 2 was the greatest military game I had played for the majority of my young life. However, people played the same maps so many times that it kind of began to suck. People were almost aimbotish\wallhackish online, and that took away the fun of just playing a military style game. I liked the game before it was too competitive. For anyone wanting a pretty good single player experience, play America's Army Rise of a Soldier. It is actually mechanically challenging versus competitive. Plus, it is actually realistic too. Instead of people lonewolfing, you have objectives that you follow in a fireteam sized element, and you bound with a full squad on some maps. There is a buddy system that you normally would see in ArmA units. Plus, as you progress through the game you get to be in the Special Forces and eventually you become a fireteam leader.
I enjoyed the 1st few versions of the game when it started. Unfortunately after that many hacks or cracks to the gaming code left for fast running or flying soldiers. Then it became just something to play for a big laugh.
Miss the AA3 bridge version. Generally sad that they dropped AA3 just barely after it became playable. PG is a ton of fun, but feels more casual and CS:GO-ish.
Tm4 dominated hospital! Was always great to fire up AA and kick some ass with Tm4_Warpig, Tm4_Sasqatch, and the rest of the boys. Made some good friends playing AA and miss it big time. Tm4_Smittyo
Loved AA Bridge crossing recon SF blizzard hospital etc. I was a VENT RAT on Pipeline ;) AA 2.6 AWESOME... Go back to that and update the Graphics i will be back................
I miss this game probably more than any game from my childhood. If anyone knows where there's an active lobby hmu you would be a godsend (just dont like proving grounds.)
I realy loved the older maps because they were bigger were the sniper realy came to it's perpose and made sense, also mis the humve and the striker. Plz get the old maps back in new and better graphics 🙏
Take cover phletch phléchette coming your way, oh, pipeline with the 203 lol, although all anyone heard was something in Farsi. Sunk so much time into this.
I remember it fondly. It WAS the greatest game of its time. I loved it. But then they mismanaged it, politics behind the scene and f-n it up totally with the firing of the Devs and then they brought the development inhose with incompetent programmers and features no-one asked for. It was unplayable for weeks. And most people felt betrayed with what they slowly rolled out. They killed off their entire player base with 3.0. From being THE game online to something we just remember fondly -that takes Major incompetence and General stupidity to pull off...
Americas Army: Proving Grounds is a fun game...but sadly very rare times of tactics needed and stuff team work is low. What i dont like is people who see it as a umm "Run and Gun" so kids say to other kids "guys come check this game out its like CoD but you can revive and shoot you'r team mates and do team chat :D" so CoD kids come and play and people start running and gunning i wish they at the registration they did a test of Military so if a CoD player wanted to register and a test came up with or e.g "what does CASEVAC mean" and if a CoD typed in the wrong answer they would not be allowed to play it and then AA:PG would be a place were no running and gunning would be allowed eh eh ideas haha
I've been playing some PG recently and people are constantly communicating with each other over voip. The teamwork and tactics are still there, its just way more "arcadey/CoD-like".
I remember one of the best insurgent camp clans from back in the days of 2002-2004 was .x6. I played the crap out of that map and loved it quite a lot.
Played all 10 years, lost me just before proving grounds came out. I do have aa assist which is good, but my most recent alternative which is WELL worth it is called Insurgency. Check it out! you will not be disappointed I promise I can not stress enough how great it is.
Started to go downhill after 2009 until AA: Proving grounds, but still... Nothing beats 2002-2009. Some of the best times I've ever had and brotherhoods made. This game will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Goddamnit i played this game for thousands of hours :D Damn shame aa3 came out and killed it all :(
i honestly didnt find anything wrong with AA3 if it wasnt cut short the game would have been so much better
Aao25.com
@@kinstar I agree AA3 was decent, not the king like 2.8.5 or whatever that last really good patch was but it wasn't as horrible as most of those veteran players claimed it was.
Development is already underway. I really hope it brings back a lot of AA's playerbase, as there are less than 1000 players that play as of now as opposed to the 9 million of AA2. Only about 300 or less, max, at any given time.
So many hours played. Teamspeak and Team warfare league. Good times.
Happy 10th. Here's to the next 10 years!
Luckily, the developers are taking note of the player suggestions for AA4 and have a thread on their forum. I hope AA4 is the best AA game so far.
I love these games. When Proving grounds came out i was like, probs not good. 2 months later i had no money to buy the cod game on pc i wanted. So i downloaded proving grounds and now im hooked!
so damn old school, still so cool
that fucking song gets me the chills man, i miss AAO2 so bad!
They should remake some of these maps
And according to the devs, it's not going to be based on AA3, or an add-on patch. It's going to be an entire new game.
2003... Damn time went by so fast.
PG is a ton of fun, but feels more casual and CS:GO-ish.
how does pipeline not make it into this video?!
I miss these days with my old clan.
Game is pretty damn fun on PS4 2019 👍 currently free
What r u saying? Can we playing it on PS4? I m gonna buy one if it's the case
Mountain ambush was our clans playground. Shout out to [PFF] and [DarK]
I miss me some AA! Bridge SE the memories sending M203’s down the sides. Hello to all my old clan mates of the [242nd]BluePhantomz!
that 8 gb download was not fucken easy back in those days.
Please remake AA3. We need to experience Impact & Alley with the new mechanics
Is there any way to buy the game and run your own server with this older version.?
I miss this game probably more than any game from my childhood. If anyone knows where there's an active lobby hmu you would be a godsend (just dont like proving grounds.)
With a base gamers universe so devoted why can u guys bring back the game
Omg i was born that year when aa released provinggrounds
god I miss the original game. version 1.6 for life!!
That one still included River Basin!
Tracked since: 29.04.2003
Time played: 4934 Hours
my AA:O Stats (1.0- 2.8) was a great time and a great Game, but AA3 ....
I was playing it from 2003 to 2005
I remember it fondly.
Best game ever made
I was insane at this game when i was 14yo haha
Underrated game, its so good
Please bring back the AA2 with new Grafiks it was the best game ever ♥ so many guys wish a remake of the old Americas Army 2 ♥
just came here to dream about the good days, i was in Moep Clan and EnS^ .... that was so fun... anyone remember Mortiferus or other teams?
All download AA25 assist. Loads of people still play AA2.
Omg i miss 2.8.5 😪 Border . Best Game ever.
Floodgate... Awesome map
JovialWitness ya i guess its more like a rush always but stay in touch kinda team work
Cool story bro
I was the best insurgent camp player. )x(DC)x(ScopeViper)x( my clan was also the best clan for that map although Jcp was really good at it also.
I remember one of the best insurgent camp clans from back in the days of 2002-2004 was .x6. I played the crap out of that map and loved it quite a lot.
"=(wA'tNc)= we Ain't No clan" was the best
played for audigy.eu, the secret 23 and so on... wa aint was really good mate :)
best version: 2.85
Top maps: Border, Woodland
Playername: ENERGIE[HUN]
Clan: Knigths
Last online: 18.10.2008, 18:08
Played all 10 years, lost me just before proving grounds came out. I do have aa assist which is good, but my most recent alternative which is WELL worth it is called Insurgency. Check it out! you will not be disappointed I promise I can not stress enough how great it is.
