INGREDIENTS
✔️2 cups glutinous rice flour
✔️2 cups shredded buko (young coconut)
✔️3/4 cup coconut milk
✔️3/4 cup brown sugar
✔️2 tablespoon melted butter
✔️Banana leaves
Directions
Wash and dry the banana leaves and let them pass through the flame for a few seconds to wilt a little and become pliable. Set aside.
In a bowl, combine the shredded buko and brown sugar. Mix gently.
Add the glutinous rice flour, coconut milk and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Continue mixing until you get a wet and sticky mixture. How to make tupig-step-3
Lay your banana leaves on a flat surface and brush with melted butter. Add around 3 spoons of the mixture to the banana leaf. Roll the banana leaf carefully. Fold the ends inwards to secure. Repeat these steps with the rest of the tupig mixture.
Layer the banana leaves in a frying pan. Let them cook for a few minutes using low medium heat.
When the leaves are starting to brown, flip them to cook the other side.
Keep cooking and flipping until you feel that the mixture is getting firm. You can also check the tupig from time to time.
When the tupig is firm, it is now ready. Transfer the tupig to a serving plate and enjoy with your hot tea or coffee. Yum!
