I know it's hard but it's very helpful to always see how the feet and legs are moving during the techniques. The techniques depend on the feet and legs so their function in the technique needs explaining as well. Another thing that often doesn't get explained or gone over carefully are the initial deflections against the hand strike/punch.
I've fallen on concrete as a kid now and then, not even hitting my head, and indeed it's no joke, it was horrible. Then again I wasn't on PCP/alcohol/or any pain reducing drugs, but yeah I like those options, and if the throw doesn't do it, those follow ups work brilliantly. You don't even have to "finish" them off as such, I'm sure once that arms gone or even after a few shots to the head that would be enough to give you an opportunity to escape (if there's no other attackers around that is). Thanks again Sifu :)
Same here. Only aspect I hate about Judo today is their stupid rules when it comes to Randori. Dr. Kano would be ashamed of what the idiot Olympic committee is doing to the Art of Judo...
Good uppercuts are like extending the weight of the planet through your body. Even in striking the earth is your best source of force, as much as you can possibly relay through your body, rather than relying on only your body weight or rotational moment of inertia.
I don't know how this kinds of techniques are coming in your mind I am always thinking of fighting but can't find such kind of techniques compared to you
This is a classic BJJ and also very used move in Judo. Its called hip toss , you are tossing your oponent with your hips rather than lifting the body, also youre using a some of his of his force to augment the damage . For the short range of the toss its a very powerful move cause its very short ranged and if youre skill full at BJJ and clinhing this move done correctly you can even do a body KO to a guy for example if you hit him against concrete( where 90% of street fights take place). Its a lot easier to do than it seems the trich is setting your hips at the right time so he has absolutely not a chance to defend himself.
I got that wrong man, I definetely knew Judo was more ancient than BJJ and Japanese Jiu Jitsu but all the moves look very similar. But know that you say it the hip toss is a classic olympyc judo move. Theyre both focused on short ranged takedowns. They're very similar.
I have a question. How do I convince my parents that MMA Training is beneficial for me..? They keep saying that I won't get anything out of it and that it is just a mere waste of money.
Tried both prior to posting this comment, results: a) If anyone bullies you, just tell us who he is and we will make sure he doesn't continue to do so, by talking to his parents or the school board; Plus my father is a Police Officer. b) There is no chance in hell that they'd let me become a fighter.
Hit tell your parents that you should know how to defend yourself especially since your dad is a police officer because you never know who ypur dad put into jail or who wants revenge
If you get to the first position you allready have the oppertunity to mount him..just straight out your leg en sit down...he will fall on his back as you go direct to the mount position and you can do what you want from there...
Hey sifu, I practice a style pretty close to wing chun, with sticking hands and all, I have always wondered if the sticking hands technique are a good idea to close the gap and help to get to clinching and some basic wrestling?
+Alvaro Wang well the sticking hands approach will help you with hand fighting to set up the throw from the clinch. Closing the gap is a different skill which requires timing and good footwork. Nice to know that other styles do a form of Chi Sao. Thanks for the question. Have a great day.
Good detail there / what about when a big lump is coming at your hard and fast and as you turn it to the T position they simple bear hug you and start head butting and biting. All looks good but doing it for real against a big aggressive non compliant opponent and you're asking for trouble
I've mostly learned to knock the attacker down with striking but this gets them down faster i guess. I do wonder if it's a good technique for a person of lesser size....? And i'm a bit concerned about people ending up dead from hitting their head on whatever is on the ground.
Is it possible to do a Body KO with judo hip toss done correctly( if you toss the guy to the concrete where 90% of street fights take place). IS it possible or am I just delusional. Casue I think if tecnhique done correctly and good timing you can use your opponents force to increse the hip toss damage therefore cause hima body KO or being very close to do it.
I like to aim for the neck, rather than the face, when striking; think about that, for a moment. Oh and remember to practice your parkour rolls and diaphragmatic breathing!
So is this Judo or BJJ I can't tell what he actual practices in the video - I know it's a throw in both arts, but what does he actually practice - Judo or BJJ?
GOOD VIDEO! I think you should do more bjj than wing chun because there's a lot of evidence of BJJ working in fights (Street AND MMA) whilst Wing chun is unproven, based on theory and would most likely get you knocked out if you came acroos someone with good striking or grappling. ON THE STREETS, all you need is BJJ (the self defence Gracie version) and boxing.
LOL that's a terrible technique, Judo throw is probably one of the shitter ones ( Tiaotoshi is much more effective) ... and also the entry like most standing BJJ is just crap sorry
This is not jujitsu this is judo if you were teaching Japanese jujitsu you were teaching a combative not a martial art with killing techniques and honest training
Proper Japanese jujitsu technique you pinch the body break the arm break the shoulder as well as strike bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit

wish you a speedy recovery for you hand ,thanks for your great videos.

Good old judo/ wrestling. You can never go wrong
I love this technique thanks for uploading
Awesome breakdown of the basic throw. Those extra details I've missed out will make it much more potent. Thanks sifu
This is why I also do Judo since my childhood ! Or what I Call it : hit People with a Planet ;)
the fancy dancing is for when you cant finish in one move. The go to is a quick fight ender like a takedown/punch/kick/submission
AWESOME NAME FOR IT!!!! Can I steal that name?
Same here. Only aspect I hate about Judo today is their stupid rules when it comes to Randori.

oh this is so funny :)) never thought of it like this :D
I love how there's sorta clickbait titles, but there's good information in the video.
Wow, Phenomenal video. Super Informative. Thank you. Love from Canada 🥋🥊🥋
Thank you very much SIFU, for another great lesson! 👊
I don't know how this kinds of techniques are coming in your mind I am always thinking of fighting but can't find such kind of techniques compared to you
Devi El He doesn't invent them, this is a classic BJJ move

Is this more easier than my imagination
Gabriel C. Burgos wrong.. it's a classic JUDO move which is sometimes used by bjj practitioners. Bjj comes from judo

Great video, Master Phillips. :-)
I'm extremely grateful for all your advice.

I have a question.

Use time skip on their ass
Hit You have to tell them, muslims are coming

Why do you think MMA Training would be beneficial for you? what are those benefits you are looking for?
nice work h_h
What's the technique where you position your foot on the inside behind their foot and knock them off balance?
Did aikido for a few years... This gentle art form was designed to break the neck of the person you throw...
If you get to the first position you allready have the oppertunity to mount him..just straight out your leg en sit down...he will fall on his back as you go direct to the mount position and you can do what you want from there...
I miss this type of videos
+CoNiCu Track don't worry we'll be uploading more of these types over the coming months. Thanks for staying with us. Have a great day.

i like this guy way more than the anime
Good detail there / what about when a big lump is coming at your hard and fast and as you turn it to the T position they simple bear hug you and start head butting and biting. All looks good but doing it for real against a big aggressive non compliant opponent and you're asking for trouble
I was like head butt em..lol..he did😂

Perfect position for tani otoshi
*Sadly, this doesn't work on my 220lbs* father (We sparred). *I'm only 126lbs* My best weapon agains't such a big person is *STRIKING.*
Under who did you get that black belt?
minasz deez nuts
this works man we have a bully in my school and they bully me but today I kick his ass 😂
What would you say are the most devastating techniques, that may actually be seen in a streetfight, since they are simple enough?
When in the T position, you could also throw him backwards as well since your leg is behind him to throw him off balance, correct?
Yes

What if the opponent comes pushing? How to use this technique when someone is pushing
That smile...
make a video on how to faint a bigger and stronger guy in a fight.
Best way to learn a technique is to feel the technique, sometimes instructors go all out to students.
can someone explain the fancy white belt and his fancy outfit..???
That's fucking judo tooo, the take down part..
Judo was developed from jujitsu so there are quite a few similarities.
I like to aim for the neck, rather than the face, when striking; think about that, for a moment. Oh and remember to practice your parkour rolls and diaphragmatic breathing!
what if your opponent is 6 foot five and weighs 250 pounds?
Boooya!
Anyone feel like its a friend hug other than fighting
fifth😂😂
So is this Judo or BJJ I can't tell what he actual practices in the video - I know it's a throw in both arts, but what does he actually practice - Judo or BJJ?
The guy that I did this to... He land on his feet and turned around and rekted me please help tell me how to counter this
*What if he studied Jiujitsu?*
Conor McGregor Fan: - 26th August 2017 if you refer to the owner of this channel he is a BJJ black belt
César Alves i think he meant the opp
*I mean the opponent*
GOOD VIDEO!

He threw a punch in the begging.
Straight Judo
Hang on a mo' - in ju-jitsu, you generally don't throw over the hip, you throw around it! This is taken from judo.
first liker
wount work on every one
There is a reason why you cannot pull off throws unless you're a world renowned judo practitioner in MMA it's next to impossible without a jujitsu gi
LOL that's a terrible technique, Judo throw is probably one of the shitter ones ( Tiaotoshi is much more effective) ... and also the entry like most standing BJJ is just crap sorry
Yea yea yea blah blah blah look so good choreographed
DREISKINS101 looks good in tons of footage of this being used irl tok
Too*
It's not a fight, it's a demonstration
Yeah and then the real street fight will never pan out like that
DREISKINS101 THIS IS PRACTICAL. I've tried it.
BUT NEVER try this on an opponent BIGGER THAN YOU.
too much talking. No one would remember this after the first blow...
You don't turn your back to an opponent in a street fight
Connor Johnson what ?
Connor Johnson try doing judo with no Gi ! LMFAO 🤣👍🏾
