Haha same here, ordered my on the 2nd of August 2023.I also have C64, one Breadbin and one C64 II and i also collect Sids. I think i have 10 or so but. How funny. Us C64 guys are all the same Freaks :D
@@tubesockor I'm trying several ones which one would you recommend? I have Goat Tarcker, CyberTracker, Sid Duzz it and Sid Wizard plus many more that I remember from my childhood such as Future Composer ..
That is really a question about taste and workflow. GoatTracker is popular for desktop use and SidWizard for C64, for instance. And btw, now both DeepSID and TherapSID have been officially released!
Hey just replied on your older video. Didnt see that one before. So yeah once again, great updates man. Glad we can now use DeepSid properly with the TherpSID. Would be good so somehow change the Speed/BPM of the Tunes but this is more a "issue" of DeepSid i guess not your software. However, would be even better for remixing. Cheers!
also... Shogoon one of the finest composers from tha early days :)... great vid... looking forward to availability of you devices if ever that happens :)
Hi - received my Therapsid this week and have installed a 6581 and 8580. A steep learning curve out of the box but its got me very much excited about the possibilities. Can I pickup the firmware somewhere or is it not yet ready for public consumption? I'm so basic right now I'm struggling with trying to look for a good cheap mixer so I can listen to both SIDs at the same time! Loving the content keep it coming :) Thanks
Thanks! All is official available! If your unit says "2.3" when booting you already have it - otherwise it can be downloaded from the Twisted Electrons website. Same goes for DeepSID, just head over there and start ASIDing!
@@tubesockor brilliant thanks updated firmware and its now playing direct through my Mac Clarett2Pre interface. Its really good fun messing around with these tunes although I'm finding some songs greyed out and the likes of Wizball doesnt seem to calibrate at all well. Is this universal across all right now or unique to individual's setups?
Hi Tubesockor! Really amazing work! Two questions. When can we expect this to be available? And, would there ever be a way to use the sounds in the Sid files as presets or instruments to play on the therapsid? Thanks!
Thanks! Availability is just a few days away I would say. Regarding the sounds, it will not be possible to use sounds from a SID file straight into TherapSID. There is no specific ”format” for those sounds, as it is just instructions to the CPU with no concept of an instrument. But hopefully I’ll be able to add some functionality to the TS in the future, to be able to make very similar-sounding patches.
So I finally got everything working today and... am just now realizing that all the expanded voices you've added can only be accessed via ASID playback? (I just questioned my sanity for an hour checking to see why midi track 5 was staying silent.) Struck me, I only get that if I write the music with an ASID file. Sames as the FM. I'm slightly disappointed but given that the firmware is OSS it seems like it should be like adding a few more pages of oscillators and adjusting some midi connections. Implementing the YM38112 synth features seems a tad much but doable. That would require having an idea of how much memory Therapsid has available
Sure, let's clarify a bit! First, expanded voices and FM requires ARM2SID chip - which I demonstrated here: ruclips.net/video/Stwx9ZNehRc/видео.html Then, 9-voice SID synth (3SID) compatibility is fully possible over regular MIDI, the normal way. In addition it is also possible to play them via ASID protocol, but since 3SID files needs a high data transmission rate it also needs TurboMIDI interface. Regarding FM, yep - only possible via ASID, playing back SID+FM tunes. It would absolutely be possible to implement also the FM support in the synth mode as well, but it naturally requries some development. I'm also not sure how useful it is, as the UI is not at all made for it.
@Echogenetic You can use any USB MIDI interface, doesn’t have to be a TM-1 if you are only using it as a synth or playing regular 1x SID files using ASID. But if you get hold of one, you will be able to play 2SID and multispeed SID files over ASID.
I have developed the support for it in DeepSID. So It is only on my local machine in the demo. But it has been submitted recently, so should hopefully be approved and available for all soon.
The ASID functionality is a major part of why I bought my TherapSID, and finally it's in the 2.3 firmware patch. My life is complete
Happy for you! Have fun :)
Can't thank you enough for the work you have done on the Therapsid, and now Deepsid
Really happy you like it - and thanks so much for testing it out! Carved out those last bugs I hope :)
loving mine, thank you so much for this firmware
Great to hear! And more things will come :)
Very Very Nice!!!🥰
Happy you like it :)
Very nice, i‘m ordered a TherapSID some days ago and i‘m very happy that you come up with this great update…
Perfect! Do you have SID chips already, or getting some at the same time?
@@tubesockor I have a lot of 6581 SID chips, i collect them! ;)
Great, know the feeling :)

Nice dedication to old classics.
Thank you!
Just tried DeepSID's ASID support on a real c64 with a Datel cart and Station64. Very cool!
Nice to hear it is working well!
Incredible work once again!
Thanks!
Ty for the awesome work, can't wait to try this!
Thanks! You got a TherapSID, or some other ASID compatible instrument?

Great that you liked it! Hopefully it is all released when it arrives!

Hehe, thanks! :)
WOOOOOOW!!! How amazing! So looking forward to try this out on my TS!!!! Thank You!!
Great to hear! Soon you’ll be able to try it out!
@@tubesockor Really can't wait. Also super keen on the combination of my own tracker music played via TS .. Hope this will be a topic to work on..

That's cool. 👏
Thank you!
Ouff! Riktigt coolt!

Oh sweet... just saw this. I have a SIDStation at home if you want me to provide some mirrors on other hardware. cheers and thanks for uploading
Great, it should work out of the box when released - but let me know then!

When dark mode design for WebUi? 😀 I'll try how it looks with my Dark Reader plugin

So will this work by just having the official 2.4 FW installed! ☺️

What device are you using as a interface between the computer and the MIDI port on the Therapsid?
It is an Elektron TM-1 USB MIDI interface
@@tubesockor Awesome. Gonna check it out. Just got a Therapid and looking forward to giving this a go.
