    SAID ABOUT THE CD;
    But the music succeeds because these fellows are unapologetic advocates of Swing, unconcemed with their steadfast adherence to older styles. They play with conviction, in other words, and fans of this kind of trad will probably enjoy this recording. - Cadence
    …the most engrossing track is probably ”Embraceable You” with its fleeting Charlie Parker echoes, imaginatively topped and tailed by Brunious and incorporating a cracking piece of balladry from Bergh in the middle. - Jazz Review

      Wendell Brunious from New Orleans plays trumpet. The group was put together just for this outdoor concert in Sweden. Wendell was at the time playing som gigs in Sweden. Tenorsax player Totti Bergh came by car togrther with me from Oslo, Norway. It was a more than 500 km drive and we arrived just som hours befor the comcert started. The four remaining musician were all from Sweden and oid friends. Both Lars Erstrand and bass player Arne Wilhelmson played with Benny Goodman in 1972 when the clarinettist tour in Europe.
      Wendell and Totti had played together at a jam session during Oslo Jazzfestival, and Totti had played with Lars a couple of times in the passed.
      Lars Erstrand was not a strong believer in rehersals so the concert was and impromtu affair.
      The band played two nights and the video is from the last one.
      The band never palyed again, but Lars Erstrand, who passed away in 2009 continued to play annual concerts at Uttersberg. You can find concerts with both Antti Sarpila and vocalist Rebecca Kilgore on RUclips.
      There is also a video with Totti Bergh and Scott Hamilton filmed in Oslo.
