Thanks for the information. I am thinking about going into home health. Can you also talk about what you do when you need to use the bathroom? I know being on the road can make it hard unless you visit a location with plenty of stores to stop at. The hours and patient load sounds good but the paperwork scares me some.
I did HH for 2 years with the same initial fears. There’s a lot of paperwork but it’s not much different from what you’d chart in the hospital just more thorough for each patient. But I won’t lie, it is time-consuming but charting as you visit takes this problem. As for bathrooms, libraries, coffee shops, and sandwich shops are your friends. Most places didn’t force me to purchase anything when they saw the scrubs but normally I would grab a drink or something else small anyway. I never used a patient’s home personally, but some professionals did 😅

Hi, it depends where you work as everyone point system maybe different but my current position is 1 point per revisit and 2 points per SOC. Pay I think is based on experience. In New York home care nurses can make 75,000 to over 100,000 yearly.:)
Hi, thanks for watching. The time a person spends on documentation depends on the the individual. I believe it’s best to do as much documentation as possible while with the patient this way there is not much to do after work.

Hi, thanks for watching. I never had that fear lol. When I just started out I was more concerned if I would be able to insert a Foley catheter without back up help😂. You only spend a short time in the patients home and most patients are happy to have you.
@@royjohnson9043 I usually refuse a case if I don’t feel safe and that’s not very often. In instances where homes are dirty , cluttered or unsafe for patients we get the social worker and management involved but we still provide care if the patient need it, example wound care. When a nurse in not comfortable with a case it’s not usually an issue to change nurses.
No not for every patient, only required for patients with covid. I choose to wear n95 masks for all patients. Back when covid was more common I did also wear goggles or face shields for all patients which was around the time I made this video.

That’s what I did! I worked as a HHA for 6 years then worked as LVN for 3 years and now starting as a RN in home health/ hospice.
