At the beginning I really hated her and felt she was this mean fake friend, but as the show progressed she became one of the sweetest and best characters in the show. Honestly I like her more than Elena 😅😅 Plus she and Klaus storyline should be a little bit more long. Really loved them🥺
I think it's safe to say that almost everyone likes some other character more than Elena! Caroline had such amazing character development and so did Damon and Bonnie and everyone else. Only Elena remained a cry baby from start to end!

Every character in the show lost many things, her brother included, but you don't see them having a mental breakdown and needing a shoulder to cry on every single day. Only Elena does that. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to be sensitive and emotional, it's just the way she is. I was saying that, as a character, she had no development at all. No need to get all defensive and 'what-would-you-do' on me! 😂
