Jonkers needs to get the JS5 out as an alternative to these mega expensive EB29Rx's.......... Sommer will win again .... Interesting to see the German 18m guys flying the JS's and not the AS33 or V3..... Hope Holger is getting some ideas for new DG's.... :-)
Yesterday we had this discussion... a lot of people think the EB29R is very expensive, but do you really know the difference between the price of EB29R and Arcus M? I think there is no other glider available which looks so amazing and is refined in every detail. Outstanding machine!
Hey, I've got another question for the more experienced glider pilots: Should you fly at the mcready speed for the best average speed on cross country flights? (For an average of like 80) I'm relativly New to gliding and was interested bc its one of the most importent thinks for the world Championships.
These guys are too stuck up to talk to you, if you're not on their micky mouse comp list your a nobody. But I can help you out, gliding in comps is all about completing a distance course within shortest time, unless they changed in the past 30years. Gliding has so many variables you have to juggle them all same time due to conditions. In most cases you'd want to fly close to your VNE between thermals then slow to find lift or nearest active cloud in your direction, that's the short of it, books on it, maybe someone else can add doubtful..
@@MartinLeineweber OK different story pleasure cross country. Fly during good conditions active clouds and short circular 10 to 25 km at gliders best slope, speed up in sink, look for OL below 2000 metres AGL to build confidence. This is what I was taght but there are flight computers now that give you the best speed for the average time spent in air. Depends on the aircraft some sink like a rock pass the best GS, don't know ask. You sound like me when I started like to push the envelope, 20-30 knots above best GS in negative flaps is OK but you're constantly juggling all kinds of things at the same time.

@@MDSBock but isnt this a little too unefficient, i mean you have to stay longer in thermals to get back the lost height
I'm sorry, I've read your question wrong, are you asking about competition gliding or pleasure cross-country gliding ?
@@MDSBock cross country no competition but with an good average speed
