For so long this was the only evidence of the show's existence. As I'm sure everyone here knows, Prieboy recently released a remastered version of the whole thing, and god it's rad as hell.
I was excited to learn that Andy Prieboy released a remastered version of the audio. I initially saw WTWL at Largo on Fairfax when it was just Andy Prieboy finalizing its development. Then I was able to see it performed at the Roxy twice (because I laughed so hard the first time, I brought friends back the next night). I also went to see it being taped it for HBO ( I thought it was video). Hopefully that sees the light of day so more can see this spectacle! 😊
Yeah, I was there too. I used to work with Andy and my girlfriend and I went to almost every show he played in LA. He was posting new stuff at his site for a while. It's all on iTunes now if you want it.
I was lucky enough to see this about 15 times as it played in LA at the old Largo and the Roxy. This is only a hint of its brilliance - you're missing songs like "It's Hard To Find Love In A Mansion Full Of Pussy And Drugs" and "Give 'Em The Meat" (an amazing deconstruction of writing hit songs played as an imaginary dialog between Rose and Steven Tyler). So good, all gone. I really miss it.
I used to see this every chance I could: when he would work it out at old Largo, the Roxy show, and also a recorded performance for HBO (at some little venue in Hollywood). I wish there was a release of that HBO show.
Haha awesome that you posted this! That's ME! :) I tell you that was THE most fun time of my life. :) - Brian Beacock
That is so cool man. I saw you do that show almost every time!
Oh how cool!! :) Yeah it was a blast!
I so badly wish I could have seen this. You're awesome, and Andy Prieboy is a genius on a level far beyond us.
Excellent job!!! I was wondering if you guys ever recorded those songs or if the shows were professionally filmed and edited together etc!
OMG blast from the past! The most fun show I ever produced! Brian, you were an AMAZING Axl! xo

I saw this musical at the Roxy in 1999 and loved it. It is a real shame that the whole show never seems to have been recorded and released.

Thanks!
The Roxy show in LA around '99...wonderful.
I was there too.

I used to shop at that Guitar Center and worked at the same Tower Video that Slash & Axl got fired from.
I've always thought the movie Rock Star and Rock Of Ages ripped this off, when the creator refused a movie and major theater deal.
God, why is this so fucking good?
Oh Andy! ;)
Too bad it's not possible to see more of it.
Anyone know what year this was?
June 2000
This sounds a BILLION times better than Rock of Ages by people who were actually there.
What is this lol
