@@crackheadcampus8199 i come from a little town near etretat. there is not a lot of reason for people of the area to go to etretat. in the past local people came for the casino , the cabaret or the pubs. nowadays we only are going if there is a festival or for a professional reason. you can't find a place where price are not x2~x3 the normal amount. bourgeois art and "paysan" art support each other in the past. so idk , a lot of this places are only tourist trap .
hello, it should be remembered that most towns and villages in Europe were born before or during medieval times. The houses were sheltered by a wall, which explains why they are often crowded together, with narrow streets.
Often forgotten jewel of France, look for the Dordogne valley (Rocamadour, Sarlat...). You'd also probably be surprised to discover the landscapes of Cantal, Auvergne, Lozère, Vercors... they basically look like Middle-Earth in France :)
That's what I like when visiting a country, a good mix between a city trip in a big city (the tourist places and also less-tourist places) and natural landscapes, little towns and monuments. So much different things and none is better or worse than the other
As a french i can say. Most of people who live in France don't know how their country is one of the most beautiful of the world. We have a great chance to live in France. :)

I had the luck, when i was very young (between my 6 yo to 15), each year, to go with my parents in each region of France. We let the caravan in a strategic camping, then, we spread around in car during 15 days. So many beautiful contrysides, villages, cities, monuments, castles, churches, museums, antiquities i had the immense luck to contemplate. I really had a very beautiful childhood, in an incredible country. That's was a important part in my decision to go in history study, and the reason why i always been, and i always will be patriot. I wish everyone in the earth will have the childhood i had, and for all who want to discover my country, one day, to realise their wish. P.S : sorry for my mistakes in english.
This video could be multiplied by 5 or 6 and you still wouldn't account for everything there is to see in France. :-) People in France don't fully grasp how special their country is. Nice reaction. I hope you get to visit one day 🙂
There are so many other beautiful regions to visit in France, as for instance the volcanic region of Auvergne in the central mounts, the historic town of Le-Puy-en-Velay, the wonderful third city of Lyon, the royal castles of the Loire valley,...
Annecy is really beautiful city near the Alps. Mont Blanc's view by the "l'Aguille du midi" or "Pic du midi" it's gorgeous to see it. I love my country. So many different environnement and style. I visited "Mont St Michel" by the beach but need to walk fast because the sea up really fast loool 10:40 , The Dune of Pyla , amazing place.
A “monumental” absence in this teaser: Where are the Châteaux of the Loire?
You'd rather come and choose 10 other places in between the ones discribed on this video and still be happy to visit France. You just have to travel a few miles like 50 for example and have the feeling of a new country folks behave different, houses look different, landscape has another shape.
Most people think France is just Paris but there are so much to see. To be french, there are the big cities like Paris, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, the great attraction Disneyland, Mont Saint Michel, les châteaux de la Loire... France is a patrimonal country with a great history, an incredible gastronomy, cultures, sports and much more. If people come in France, they must see Paris obviously but the surroundings too...
And he didn't mention most palaces/castles. For example just google image "chambord castle" if you want to have an idea of what to expect in the Loire Valley (another touristic region, in the center of France, full of palaces).
You speak about old monument, and megalitic stones (menhir and dolmen) are about -7000 BC to -1000 BC (neolithic and bronze age). But if you want very old stuff, i advise you to go see the cave of Lascaux (~12000 BC) or, way more older, the cave of Chauvet, at least -30000 BC and probably more. It's today the oldest human cave found (but they are certainly other in the world)
If you visit France one day and get out of Paris, don't forget prehistoric caves. Lascaux (21 000 years BC), Cosquer (27 000 to 19 000 years BC) and Chauvet (37 000 to 28 000 years BC) are the most famous but you can only visit (nice) replicas. However, many others exist and for some you get to see the real deal, the place were people lived ten of thousands years ago.
*France is the most touristic country in the World but the country (outside of Paris) is clearly UNDERRATED!!! Foreigners could really relax and appreciate different food, people, architecture, landscapes... if they visited other parts of the country.*

I have visited all the places you have seen in this video and much more, the sand expanse pictured is "The dune of Pyla": almost 100 meters high (300 feet ) to climb it, you have to have the shape . Well, I live in France. It’s also simpler.
and there is also WWII german bunkers that litteraly collapse because of the fact there is absolutely no stability XD it's like the dunes are eating the german bunkers XD
The more I travel the world the more I realize, how blessed we Europeans are. Not only a relative safe society, art, old architecture, better and cheaper food, but also the nature. I find our landscapes much more beautiful as the dry deserts in the USA, including the Grand canyon.
To your comment : " all the houses are packed in" ... before cars, peoples had to go to work, shops, schools, everything, by foot. And there were no fridges to keep food for 1-2 weeks, so you had to be close to everything. I was raised in a typical north-american suburb build in the 60's, and before I had my driver's license, it took a 20 minutes walk just to get a pint of milk, and 20 other minutes to get back home. It's ridiculous how 1000 years settlements were often more convenient than modern ones.
Good but missing so many more places! Le Périgord, les gorges du Tarn, les châteaux de la Loire, Pont de miliau, corde sur ciel so many beautifull villages, castles, landscape, mountains, architectures ... and don't forget l'anjou et Angers to experienced "la douceur Angevine".

Hello, my apologies for errors but unfortunately I am not very good at the language of Shakespeare. I live in Rouen, in Normandy, where the accursed English burned Jeanne d'Arc. ^^ First of all, thank you for taking an interest in our beautiful country, it's fun to see yourself through the eyes of foreigners and your enthusiasm is a pleasure to see. And it's true that it's a beautiful country, it's not for nothing that we are the first tourist country in the world it seems to me, that is largely explained because we offer a rather incredible diversity, whether in the landscapes, in the architecture, in the gastronomy, in the historical monuments which are innumerable here, all on an area which is ultimately not that huge. As a result, you just have to travel a few kilometers sometimes to find something very different, it's one of our particularities. All the regions shown in your video are worth the trip. If you don't know Mont Saint Michel, go there without hesitation, it's a unique place, I don't see anything comparable in the world. But for me there is a huge omission that deserves its place in this top 10, it's the Loire Valley. Historically, culturally and for landscapes, fauna and flora, it is one of our richest regions, if not the richest. It is here that you will find castles and gardens that have made France famous, such as the castles of Chambord, Chenonceaux, Azay-le-Rideau, Ussé (the castle of Sleeping Beauty), Villandry, Blois, Amboise and I forget some because there are a multitude of them in this area, all more magnificent than the other. Very well known for its vineyards too, if you like to eat well, this is a good place. I can only encourage you to go there one day if you have the opportunity. On the other hand, I feel obliged to advise you against going to the cliffs of Etretat. Certainly this place is magnificent but that is precisely the problem, it is a place which is today a victim of its own success. A TV series broadcast here has done it a lot of harm, since tourists have been flocking there en masse and degrading the site, it's a small town, 1,300 inhabitants, and they can't take it anymore and can't manage to welcome all those visitors who don't really respect the place. Now it's endless traffic jams, full car parks, crowded streets, the floors are degraded with the footsteps of tourists. It has come to such a point that the inhabitants are moving from their homes, the tourist office has received instructions from the town hall to no longer display photos of the cliffs, to tell you where it is . I think there is a bit the same problem for the cliffs and creeks of Cassis near Marseille. That's all, sorry for the long message. 😁
1:39 "Aiguille du Midi" 3842m (french Alps)by ropeway ,not to be confused with the "pic du midi" (in the Pyrenees) 2877m high (an observatory is at the top, a ropeway allows you to go there) for Pic du midi, originally, there was a long and steep path which was used to supply the weather stations. To enlarge the sites, we built a "mini ropeway" (not at all up to current safety standards ^^) to transport the materials of the buildings and the parts of the current Ropeway(in the 50/60's). For "Aiguille du Midi" It takes two ropeways to climb from chamonix to the summit. The first starts from Chamonix (1008m) at the "Plan de l'Aiguille" (2317m), which offers a breathtaking view of the aiguille du midi.. the first pylon in descent in particular , marks a sharp change in slope, among the steepest for a cable car, hence a slight airtime when standing, similar to that of an attraction or a fast lift. The second is without pylons and arrives below the structure (3777m). people prone to vertigo, do not look. The vacuum under the cabin exceeds 700 m in some places. In the needle, tunnels are drilled in the mountains to reach the 3842m summit. Try it!

I suggest you also look at the callanques near Marseille as well as the videos made by drones. You will be surprised. This city is not much loved yet it is one of the most picturesque of France especially thanks to its 2600 years of history ;) For the small anecdote, Marseille has forts of defense which are not there to protect the marseillais but to defend France of the marseillais.
another French here, that's nice :) My personal favorite places not mentioned here : The stunning Cirque de Gavarnie (Pyrénées mountains) depicted by Victor Hugo as "the most mysterious work from the great architect, the Colosseum of Nature". While near Gavarnie, you should visit Lourdes, the world's most visited catholic pilgrimmage sanctuary and its beautiful basilica of the Rosary. Bordeaux's region wine villages tour including the wonderful village and famous red wine "Saint Émilion", and while in the region go see the huge Dune du Pilat on the atlantic coast. South western Basque coast including pretty cities like Saint-Jean-de-Luz and in the Basque countryside are some amazing villages like Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, Ainoa or Espelette. The city of Albi and its unique massive cathedral made of red bricks, which also has an exceptional interior. In the center of France is the beautiful natural parc of the Auvergne volcanos. Finally I have to mention the castles of the Loire river - Chateaux de la Loire (many gorgeous castles all standing in a quite little area; which are the hight of the Renaissance times) which absolutely not even need to be mentioned, so famous and splendid they are! and there are many, many more beautiful places but I'm not familiar that much with the north and east/south east of the country. bonne journée!

Just found your video last night! I had so much fun watching you guys react to it :)
Vive la France! Vive ma France! 💖🇲🇫
Every country has its beauties. Europe has the advantage that all the sights are so easy accessible.
That's what I like when visiting a country, a good mix between a city trip in a big city (the tourist places and also less-tourist places) and natural landscapes, little towns and monuments. So much different things and none is better or worse than the other
So happy to see Alsace on this top !
Hello from France :)
I went to aiguille du midi as a kid (5 or 6 ?), I still remember it to this day. Core memory.
As a french i can say. Most of people who live in France don't know how their country is one of the most beautiful of the world. We have a great chance to live in France. :)
I am French, born and raised. Moved to Canada back in 2012. Have been working in the Airline industry and travel A LOT.
Even tho I don’t like this kind of rankings because, to keep it real : Earth is entirely magnificent :p

Thanks to appreciate my Country, you have to visit !! ☺French people love America too !
For example just google image "chambord castle" if you want to have an idea of what to expect in the Loire Valley (another touristic region, in the center of France, full of palaces).
hey i found a fellow comrad of the Centre
You speak about old monument, and megalitic stones (menhir and dolmen) are about -7000 BC to -1000 BC (neolithic and bronze age). But if you want very old stuff, i advise you to go see the cave of Lascaux (~12000 BC) or, way more older, the cave of Chauvet, at least -30000 BC and probably more. It's today the oldest human cave found (but they are certainly other in the world)
I live only 10km from Carcassonne and I always find this citadel so beautiful.
I am Bretons, thank you for showing our so beautiful and old country
As a French, I agree !
@@Pakal77 Moi aussi! 😆
"La Belle France" it is the most visited country in the world because it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.. There are so many wonderful places to see. The history is amazing. Check out the Chateau of the Loire Valley.
as a frenchmen who lives in nouvelle aquitaine region of France I really liked this, you should look at Bordeaux
Fun fact, Mont Saint Michel inspired Disney for Rapunzel's Kingdom in Tangled :)

Hello, my apologies for errors but unfortunately I am not very good at the language of Shakespeare.
I live in Rouen, in Normandy, where the accursed English burned Jeanne d'Arc. ^^
First of all, thank you for taking an interest in our beautiful country, it's fun to see yourself through the eyes of foreigners and your enthusiasm is a pleasure to see.
2:41 i am French and there is just i little error that a lot of my american friends say but it is « mont blanc » 😊
hey im frenchpeople and i visited every cities on this vidéo and its very beautifull
1:39 "Aiguille du Midi" 3842m (french Alps)by ropeway ,not to be confused with the "pic du midi" (in the Pyrenees) 2877m high (an observatory is at the top, a ropeway allows you to go there)
for Pic du midi, originally, there was a long and steep path which was used to supply the weather stations.
Try it!
im french but i said again, we have the most beautifull country in the world,, and i don't forget DOM-TOM landscaped crossed the world are french too and are insame
You should see the "Auguille Saint Michel" in "Le puys en Velay"
