my opinion is: i don’t like it when people say, “why does she feel insecure, she’s so pretty!” because even whoever you find gorgeous, that person can have the biggest insecurity about themselves. you can find them flawless but in their eyes, they can see every bit of what they think as their flaws. yes, giving someone a compliment is kind, but saying that because you find them beautiful that they shouldn’t feel insecure, it doesn’t help them at all.

It's more about being yourself, and that means she could put makeup on however she likes, or not put on any makeup at all.

I wear makeup because I've had acne since I was 8. I developed depression when I was 10 because everyone would point out my acne, and people's parents would stare and tell me I was unclean. I washed my face 3 times a day. now that I wear makeup, people compliment my eyeliner and my hair and while the acne hasn't changed, my view of myself has. I've learned to look at my smile instead of my skin, my eyes instead of my forehead. makeup changed my life, and I don't wear it for anyone but myself.

I totally agree. We wear make-up because we want to highlight the speciality we have. Example someone with beautiful eyes might use a light shade of lipstick so people can pay more attention to their eyes instead of their mouths.

Ann Drew well it's not a bad thing that I like to cover up my acne scars with foundation? What's not okay is when the person depends on the makeup to feel happy. Covering up my huge swollen pimple doesn't automatically mean I'm depressed and isn't a bad thing actually it makes me feel more confident!

But if we're honest: if pimples for example would be taught to be pretty, all of us would feel pretty having pimples. If the fashion would be to be sweaty, to be fat, to have eyebrows as thick as bushes, everybody thin would be ugly, everybody without pimples would be ugly and everybody with thin eyebrows would be ugly as well and everybody who'd shower often would be disgusting and not cool. It is the ideals (twhich mostly are not possible to be followed naturally) that make us feel uncomfortable with who we are. We are being taught the ideals of beauty that others impose on us and that results in us to feel ugly by being different.

Some girls don't wear makeup because they want to look "pretty" I do it because it's a form of self expression. If I want to cover my face with makeup it doesn't mean I'm insecure. I can go out bare faced and be just as confident as I am with makeup.

Some wear it because it's fun to put on, some wear it because they are expressing themselves, some wear it because the like how they look with it on and off. And even if they are insecure, maybe makeup makes them feel more confident and happy and if it does, then we should let them feel happy. I totally agree. We wear make-up because we want to highlight the speciality we have. Example someone with beautiful eyes might use a light shade of lipstick so people can pay more attention to their eyes instead of their mouths.

But if we're honest: if pimples for example would be taught to be pretty, all of us would feel pretty having pimples. If the fashion would be to be sweaty, to be fat, to have eyebrows as thick as bushes, everybody thin would be ugly, everybody without pimples would be ugly and everybody with thin eyebrows would be ugly as well and everybody who'd shower often would be disgusting and not cool. It is the ideals (twhich mostly are not possible to be followed naturally) that make us feel uncomfortable with who we are. We are being taught the ideals of beauty that others impose on us and that results in us to feel ugly by being different.

I get itchy too but I'd wear heavy makeup when I first became a teenager and had awful acne and so Id use more to cover it which made me break out worse. I don't really wear makeup anymore and im 18 - my skin looks amazing compared to before
Wearing makeup doesn't mean that you are insecure about yourself!!. I wear makeup when i feel like and other days i go out with just a lipbalm. Not everyone is insecure,not everyone thinks about what others will say about me. Its just about feeling more beautiful somedays.
