And our revolution of dignity did not end in the winter of 2014. That was just the beginning. Following the outbreak of war with russia, which continues to this day. Yesterday, October 14, we celebrated the Defender of the Fatherland Day. Now, today, in the east of Ukraine there is a war, a war for our honor, freedom and dignity. This war has been going on for five long years and cost thousands of lives of our soldiers who continued the work of the "Heavenly Hundred" - civilians who died on the Maidan in the winter of 2014.
Our soldiers are fighting today, dying and pouring blood under the national yellow-blue flag. "Glory To Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!" - this is a military greeting to our Warriors. Our gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine!

My Ukraine roommate (here in Los Angeles) MADE me watch that documentary on the revolution and I was in tears by the end! The people were SO lovely, kind and gentle in their revolution. Only until the government officials started firing weapons at the PEACEFUL protestors, did the people actually use violence in the form of Molotov cocktails, and the like. They were really only singing about being one and asking the military/police why they would turn against their brethren... it was truly a wonderful film. Glad you both saw it!

So glad to see you both out and about exploring Kyiv, its stunning, its beautiful and offers amazing sites to visit. The Churches are truly amazing and the recent history around Independence Square make you realize how the people of Ukraine have made to many sacrifices, not to mention the German invasion of WW2. They are wonderful proud people, no one else could show Kyiv in such a positive light than Kara and Nate, so looking forward to your visit to the Zone! Was there myself in July.

I love how you see my lovely city! There were many rumors after the Ukrainian revolution of 2014 and after russians have invaded a part of two eastern regions, somebody was thinking Ukraine is dangerous, and scarry nazis are walking around day and night trying to kill everybody.
I was born in Ukraine and living in Kyiv for 10 years, there're some bad people here (and in any country in the world as well), but I can promise any of you who takes a decision to visit Ukraine will be very impressed (in a very good meaning).

Thanks so much for telling amazing things about Kyiv! I live here and I am so happy you enjoyed time here. But I wanted to tell that actually it`s no Kiev, it`s Kyiv. The pronunciation of Kiev is a Russian way os saying it, and Ukrainian way of saying it is Kyiv. Because of the difficult relationships between Ukraine and Russia it is even more important for us that people from other countries know about correct name of Kyiv #kyivnotkiev

This is so petty and retarded. Fortunately, most people from non-cargo cult countries aren’t submitting and don’t care. Seriously, is there any non fake and gay country that makes a fuss over naming conventions that don’t concern geopolitical disputes? I can’t think of any. For instance, precisely nobody in The Netherlands - to the best of my knowledge - cares in the least about having an article appended to their name in English, presumably because they are quite successful and don’t have a raging inferiority complex.
