I just did my fistulotomy 6 weeks ago today at Cleveland Clinic Florida. I’m nearly 100% now but I would say I didn’t feel any sort of improvement until around day 10. Maybe even a little longer. Anyone doing this surgery just get it over with. I lived with my fistula for 4 years. So glad this is all behind me now. Best of luck, everyone!
@@TechyAviral My fistula is pretty much 100% healed. Took a while to feel any sort of improvement. I was having pain with bowel movements for the first I’d say 3 weeks. Then after that the pain stopped within a few days and it was general discomfort for a short time after that. The pain during movements really isn’t that bad either. I was expecting worse. It’s a short sharp pain but not especially severe. No pain at all with bowel movements anymore 8 weeks after surgery.

It feels a lot better then before but since I just had the surgery almost a month ago it feels sensitive. It doesn’t hurt anymore thank god but it’s gonna be a long healing process. That’s what the doctor told me. But I’m telling you I feel way better after I got the surgery.

I have loose seton. there has been drainage last 3 months. no more drainage is can I just cut the seton and remove? do I have to have laser? please tell me. I can not visit a dr due to finance.
This video is excellent and I share with everyone who asks about my current condition. Had a fistula for 5 years now and going for a 12th surgery next week. There is not enough education or research about this disease. It’s not only physical pain but psychological pain for the patient as well knowing they will never heal from this. Because it will likely to return and never cure. 😖
Well explained, I just had my surgery last week and a seton was placed. The only issue I have is because I had J pouch surgery stool is watery which washes over the incision and burns like heck. But it’s better than having the abscess I had. God knows how I even got this thing.
You don’t have IBD? And I’m warning you now, that seton string will suck. You’ll always feel it, you can’t sit comfortably and it will just sting/hurt sometimes. Put Vaseline directly where the string goes in is my best advice.
While fingering, a small tissue was damaged in my rectum, after a few days a small bump (feel soft) came out from(because of nail ) that damaged tissue. I do not feel any kind of itching or pain in it. Is it related to fistula or piles or to which disease।
I had five surgery procedure in one year. Two weeks since the last one and I’m suffering with constipation but also some wet gases incontinence. the stiches inside the anal canal bleeds and brings a lot of a pain. last time I stayed 6 days in the hospital. I see doctors all the time talking about this desease as if is nothing complicated but they lie, it’s a hell.
I wishbits that simple, i had loose seton, had lift procedure, now partial fistulotomy with cutting seton, all general anaesthetic! I hope the third one would make miracles for me.
Amazing alternative. Seventeen years ago I walked away from having surgery for this horrid fistula condition. I was on the hospital bed ready to have the surgery but the surgeon had over booked. I was treated by an ex-surgeon practicing alternative therapies, acupuncture to stimulate my liver and a 3 month course of cordyceps mushrooms. It disappeared without trace and has not returned. i got fistula surgery yesterday but on the the very 1st day of fistula apeared to still i feel tingling and numbness in hands & in foots..is it danger?.
U need water and to eat in the morning I could be dehydrated could just be sensation of nerves high blood pressure e everything so go back to normal give two weeks after the first week u should be feeling a little better drink water
@@davida6519 got a seton and in 1-2 months will preform LIFT. If that operation fails they will go on with using fat cells to try fix it. I live in sweden and we got bad healthcare so things take time but it's 100% free.
I had 2 setons placed 2 months ago. I had no external opening but the fistula is about 6 cm long internally. The seton only goes through maybe 1 cm of the fistula. The sbcess and swelling is now back. I now have 2 setons and an abcess and full pain again, I don't think my doctr knows what he is doing. Ive seen 5 doctors, 3 hospital visits, endless appoinments, 1 MRI, Creams, Pills blah blah blah. This nightmare has destroyed my life for 2 years now, I'm completely broken. My last hope is to leave Canada and go to Thailand to the Bumrungrad Hospital, they seem fast, knowledable and efficient. I hope I can have my life back one day.

@@jillanderson3402 I had the surgery in march of 2021, the seton fell out in September. I had appointments with the surgeon every two weeks after surgery until my seton fell out.

@@jillanderson3402 The surgeon tighten my seton every two weeks as it got looser while the tissue healed behind it pushing it forward. It gradually cut through the fistula because the doctor keep it tight. Eventually when it's finished cutting it falls out! It's an amazing process. I went from the worst pain imaginable having a bowel movement and hours after, to having zero pain and I can say I'm 100% recovered.

Sir, mujhe fistula ke 2 opening hai(left and right side 1 cm). Ek mahine ho Gaye hai ksharsutra operation kara ke. 2 bar ksharsutra change kiye hai. 2 din se latrine me blood Jaa Raha hai wo bhi jyada. Sitz bat me bhi blood aata hai. Doctor Ko dikhya to wo internal cut hua hai bole (left side me) aur kal 12-09-22 ko internal cut ko stitching Kiya hai. Aur dono taraf ke ksharsutra ka thread Nikal diya hai. Doctor bol rahe hai 10 din me left internal cut wala stitch Nikal denge aur fistula ek dum tik ho jayega. Lekin mujhe Abhi bhi blood Aur puss aa rahe hai right opening se. Mujhe lagta hai right side me bhi cut laga hai. Usi waje se blood aarhe hai lagta hai. Pain bhi bahut ho ta hai stool pass karne me. Aaj pure 40 din ho gaye hain lekin Mai baith nahi pata. Please advise.

Sir, I'd gone for botox injections 2 times for anal fissure that didn't help. Its been more than a year and now it has also lead to abscess as per the MRI report. I just had my 2nd surgery. My first surgery was an emergency one. I had heavy leakage and the pain was horrendous . I had 3 doctors hold me down, while the specialist squeezed down on it. Horrible horrible. They accidentally removed a piece of muscle on my anal and has weakens my butt hole. Lol and even after healing I was still leaking. I felt defeated. I felt lost I was traumatized and then I realized I grew another fistula on the other side currently healing. Super sore. And hoping for the best to be the end

My maternal uncle just had fistulotomy 3 days ago. The doctor recommended him to wear adult diapers for sometime and he was super embarrassed about wearing it 😂😂❤
I won't know til the 15th, but I'm fairly certain my fistula is back. This will be the 4th time and I just don't know if this is something I will have to suffer with the rest of my life 😢 It's July 1st and my last surgery was in February. I'm so upset over this, I thought it was gone for sure this time.

@@screamingcolormusic Mine didn't end up being across anything, just under the surface I guess, but where the abscess was, there's like a quarter size bit of most of the skin layers just gone. And I'm just supposed to throw gauze on it. Dr staff won't discuss until followup, they kinda suck. Hope you didn't have anything too brutal on your..end ha.
Don't worry. I just had this procedure today and went home a couple hours later. Your doctors are experts and know what they're doing. I was nervous too, but I got through it. You'll make it through too. 🙂

Well I finally got the surgery done in Florida what a difference. Got it done at Saint Joseph hospital. Price of the procedure for the anal fissure was 14000.

I had mine since june and its still leaking puss but not blood. It hurts sometimes not all the time but it can become very discomforting

my surgeon says wont do surgery wants me on remicade, my GI doesn't wanna do remicade..im stuck suffering. what should i do
Go to another surgeon. I have a seton for now given the infected area is in sphincter muscle.

الان بعد تعبي من العمليات اللتي لاً تحل اساس المشكله ساذهب للعلاج بالطريقة الهندية عن طريق الخيط الذي يدخل داخل الفتحه بدل ما كل مره يفتحون الجرح كامل و اقعد ثلاث اشهر بفتحه بمكان حساس و صعب التئامها خصوصا اذا كان هناك الالتهابات بالمعده
اشيا تدل علىً انه العملية ان تنجح وسترجع بعد سته اشهر
العملية1 اللي تعمل في خلاص ساعه وبعد ساعتين تطلع من المستشفى 2 وبدون فحوصات دقيقه لمعرفة اذا لسبب كان الامعاء اي المنظار للامعاء 3

I had 2 setons placed 2 months ago. I had no external opening but the fistula is about 6 cm long internally. The seton only goes through maybe 1 cm of the fistula. The sbcess and swelling is now back. I now have 2 setons and an abcess and full pain again, I don't think my doctr knows what he is doing. Ive seen 5 doctors, 3 hospital visits, endless appoinments, 1 MRI, Creams, Pills blah blah blah. This nightmare has destroyed my life for 2 years now, I'm completely broken. My last hope is to leave Canada and go to Thailand to the Bumrungrad Hospital, they seem fast, knowledable and efficient. I hope I can have my life back one day.

It gradually cut through the fistula because the doctor keep it tight. Eventually when it's finished cutting it falls out! It's an amazing process. I went from the worst pain imaginable having a bowel movement and hours after, to having zero pain and I can say I'm 100% recovered.

Doctor Ko dikhya to wo internal cut hua hai bole (left side me) aur kal 12-09-22 ko internal cut ko stitching Kiya hai.
Aur dono taraf ke ksharsutra ka thread Nikal diya hai. Doctor bol rahe hai 10 din me left internal cut wala stitch Nikal denge aur fistula ek dum tik ho jayega.
Lekin mujhe Abhi bhi blood Aur puss aa rahe hai right opening se. Mujhe lagta hai right side me bhi cut laga hai. Usi waje se blood aarhe hai lagta hai.
Pain bhi bahut ho ta hai stool pass karne me.
Aaj pure 40 din ho gaye hain lekin Mai baith nahi pata.

Sir, I'd gone for botox injections 2 times for anal fissure that didn't help. Its been more than a year and now it has also lead to abscess as per the MRI report. My Surgeon has told that I need sphincterotomy & fistulotomy as thats the last option. I'm worried as the procedure can lead to fecal incontinence. I just had my 2nd surgery. My first surgery was an emergency one. I had heavy leakage and the pain was horrendous . I had 3 doctors hold me down, while the specialist squeezed down on it. Horrible horrible. They accidentally removed a piece of muscle on my anal and has weakens my butt hole. Lol and even after healing I was still leaking. I felt defeated. I felt lost I was traumatized and then I realized I grew another fistula on the other side currently healing. Super sore. And hoping for the best to be the end

And I'm just supposed to throw gauze on it. Dr staff won't discuss until followup, they kinda suck. Hope you didn't have anything too brutal on your..end ha.
