I'm from western Canada so it isn't exactly easy (or cheap) for me to go to games but that moment was the highlight of an amazing trip seeing seven games and already has me considering going back at the end of the season to hopefully see the O's clinch the AL East division again

Not really the Yankees had the worst record in the last 25 games, and lost a crucial win against their division rivals due to 2 errors. There isn’t a fan base that wouldn’t complain.

That was a brutal AB for Gunnar. Pitcher throws 5 of 6 pitches nowhere close to the plate, but then gets a low pitch called a strike, then 2 pitches later a close strike call for strike 3. Typically when pitchers are wild, they don't get borderline calls like that.
Still he has to learn that if balls are that close to the strike zone that he has to fight them off. I love gunnar but that is one thing that I have noticed about him
Gunnar is getting a bad rep like Machado so they may not be giving him the benefit of the doubt.
and in the top of the ninth there was at least 5 strikes called balls
@@Nextgen04I’m pretty sure he has learned that, but when your team is generally struggling, you’re going to do some stupid stuff. Not to mention that many Orioles yesterday were taking too many pitches for called strike 3’s. Not just Gunnar.

I watched Mullins snag a ball at the wall in clutch time last year against the mariners and then in extras hit a walk off. Dudes clutch!

Yeah, it emptied out a little after Rice’s HR but that would happen in any stadium when the home team blows a lead and goes down by multiple runs in the 9th. I’ve seen plenty of games on TV where Yankee Stadium started to empty early when the home team is down late.

Cedric Mullins came out clutch
He hit a routine fly ball out to left field but Verdugo misjudged it and then fell down. How is it clutch? It was a total failure by the left fielder. McMullen made the 3rd out of the inning.
Still clutch cry baby. Verdugo and the entire Yankees lineup (minus judge and Soto) are actually terrible players.

Dude was caught in a pickle between 3rd and home, the Yankees catcher was out of position, leaving home plate unmanned, when Cust, the tying run, falls down on his way to home and is tagged out a few feet from home plate to end the game.

The most important aspect is that if the Orioles win two out of the final three games against the Yankees this year they will win the season series again against the Yankees this season as well, which will be important in deciding the AL East Champions for 2024
The Red Sox got rid of Kimbrel at the right time. He used to be good but that was 6 years ago. He hasn't been the same since 2018.
Holmes shouldn't have made the ASG over Kimbrel, and now Kimbrel's going to have even more unwelcome rest. Let's Go O's man did we need this one.

The error by Volpe was inexcusable since the Yankees win the game if he doesn't bobble it, but my goodness is Holmes tough to watch. He couldn't throw a strike to save his life today

@@surgeyibrahimovic5013 they had him playing shallow to keep the guy on 2nd from scoring on a single so he wasn't in the greatest spot to catch that ball. Wasn't entirely his fault, but he definitely didn't track the ball as well as he usually does
I think with all the white jerseys in the crowd, he couldnt measure it off the bat with the ball blending with the crowd.
