6 for 16 in his last seven games. In a couple of those games he didn't have any at bats. Regardless we knew about his defense and he's getting some important hits too.
If we really look into the stats, Ohtani increases his swim lengths for about 0.2ft, which means the velocity of bat increases. In simple words, Ohtani is trying to increase the number of sluggers and homeruns. At the second half of the season we can say that Ohtani is preparing for the playoffs, cuz in playoffs dodgers do not need him for just singles but homers. So if Ohtani is navigating for more homers, the batting average will decline since these two things will not possibly coexist.
As an Angels fans I watch the Dodgers because of Ohtani, as great as he is in the first half of the season he's been really dissapointing in the second half. He's now 4 for 45 in his last 10 games, that's unexceptable. Three years he had 30 home runs at the All Star break and none of those years he hit 50, hit only 13 HRs in 2021 & 12 HRs 2023 in the 2nd half, this year he has only 7 so far. He does great in the 1st half but does very little in the 2nd half, especially in August and September, this is the forth straight year this happened, what makes anyone think he will do anything in October? Just very dissapointed in him.
I can't wait for Shohei to start pitching again. The sooner he does, the sooner his elbow pops again. Tommy John 2 will be coming in 2025 or 2026. His arm is burnt and injury will end his career long before his Dodgers contract expires.

The talent has been greatly exaggerated. Goldy and Arenado are washed up. I agree that Oli is not a good manager. He calls up Jordan Walker to platoon against lefties when he hits righties better average and power. He is ruining him trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Every starting pitcher we go after is over 30, and they are still talking about extending Goldschmidt. The Cardinals have more problems than just bad management, bad ownership too.

I personally think it’s because he’s batting lead off. It’s just like the difference between a closer and a reliever. His skill set would be so much better as a 2 or 3 bat. I understand he can get more home runs or steals if he’s getting more ABS, but he’s just not the same. If Roberts keeps him on lead off I guarantee you he will not win MVP this year.

Ohtani is so used to being out of the playoff picture that his body has acclimated to shutting down in August but I still believe he'll be the difference maker in a few months.

The team now has too many outfielders, and still not enough pitching. (Lance Lynn has knee inflamation, and has missed a start or two. The Cardinal's potential Gold Glove centerfielder Michael Siani might miss a month of the season with an oblique strain that happened a couple of weeks ago.) NONE OF THAT IS MARMOL. The "good streak" had a lot to do with the end of July trade deadline, and guys focused on staying in St Louis, rather than being traded and uproot their families. But make no mistake, this losing is Mozeliak's failure, not Marmol.

Mozeliak and his analytics database does, and if Marmol goes against the data, even after the starting lineup is announced, he could get fired by Mozeliak just like Mike Shildt did after leading a record winning streak (and going against Mo's data in the process) that won a Division championship 3 years ago. Mo fired him for winning. That's the reality in St Louis. Mozeliak controls everything, even decisions during the games. Marmol is getting scapegoated for Mozeliak failures.

As a Dodgers fan, I know what it’s like to lose a game because of the bullpen. I’m not bragging or anything. This was a nail biter of a game
If we really look into the stats, Ohtani increases his swim lengths for about 0.2ft, which means the velocity of bat increases. In simple words, Ohtani is trying to increase the number of sluggers and homeruns. At the second half of the season we can say that Ohtani is preparing for the playoffs, cuz in playoffs dodgers do not need him for just singles but homers. So if Ohtani is navigating for more homers, the batting average will decline since these two things will not possibly coexist.
Aaron Judge would have something to say about that. .333 batting average and 44 homers. Just crazy good! 😊

As an Angels fans I watch the Dodgers because of Ohtani, as great as he is in the first half of the season he's been really dissapointing in the second half. He's now 4 for 45 in his last 10 games, that's unexceptable. Three years he had 30 home runs at the All Star break and none of those years he hit 50, hit only 13 HRs in 2021 & 12 HRs 2023 in the 2nd half, this year he has only 7 so far. He does great in the 1st half but does very little in the 2nd half, especially in August and September, this is the forth straight year this happened, what makes anyone think he will do anything in October? Just very dissapointed in him.

The talent has been greatly exaggerated. Goldy and Arenado are washed up. I agree that Oli is not a good manager. Every starting pitcher we go after is over 30, and they are still talking about extending Goldschmidt. The Cardinals have more problems than just bad management, bad ownership too.

I personally think it’s because he’s batting lead off. It’s just like the difference between a closer and a reliever. His skill set would be so much better as a 2 or 3 bat. Mozeliak and his analytics database does, and if Marmol goes against the data, even after the starting lineup is announced, he could get fired by Mozeliak just like Mike Shildt did after leading a record winning streak (and going against Mo's data in the process) that won a Division championship 3 years ago. Mo fired him for winning. That's the reality in St Louis. Mozeliak controls everything, even decisions during the games. Marmol is getting scapegoated for Mozeliak failures.
