Lol can't help it boats are fun definitely good to have a rescue plan found that out the hard way in the past proboat makes some nice stuff you know you want one 🤣😅😅
Hate to say it but those old plastic gears give the boat a nice sound once away from the shore!! Great rescue idea maybe I need a smaller boat instead of o fishing pole!!
I watched every second of the rescue with great interest, having had to do the same many times myself. In fact, I just watched a similar rescue only today on Run That RC, and spent part of this afternoon staring at the innards of my own RC outboard motor after it ate its own flex-drive system. At least the gear teeth on your PT109 survived, so you´ll be able to refit them, though they are quite slender, aren´t they? Man, it looked good for the short time it was planing! I look forward to seeing this boat back in action.
The 109 looks Sharp Brother Brent 💯 I'll be taking a pair of shorts and towel 😂😆 Nice rescue with the Cruiser 🏁 time to research brass gears? ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing 👍😎👍 AOAH 🌟 RCF4L 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend
That did go well, but did have a feeling those gears would not last. I wonder if a 2 motor conversion would be the way to go because it it sits so well in the water.
It worked great until it didn’t! 😂 I thought it sounded gear driven when you first started it. I’ll try looking at it on a bigger screen later. I’m wondering if you could adapt some spur gears off some car in place of those?? Have a great day and be safe out there!
Ditch the giant 50 star flag on the stern and the water line should be lower. You can easily make a rectangle with PVC pipe with a fork protruding from the front to fit over your rescue boat. It would make retrieval much easier.
I found no translation for "Fahrtbild". So the PT looks great how it plows through the water before the issue. It's good to have a plan B either a rescue boat👍 or a long stick😒 or swim pants and a towel😖. If the boat is straightend to the shore, you can use the rudder as a paddle by turning it from left to right repeatly.
why I carry a telescoping fishing rod in my battery+transmitter caddy, has also rescued small aircraft from those grabby trees! back when.. 540 motor direct drive into a Dumas nylon prop for a .09 engine was very good for a submerse prop, for a surface prop arrangement it was Octura X-427 (1.4 pitch 27 mm diameter), running a 16D mod motor. bummer the gear set let go like that but things happen. to go direct drive it'd be "criminal" shaving and filling, then putting one shaft down the center, but it'd be much quicker and lots quieter anyway. another option is dual 380 motors direct drive into Dumas nylon props for an .049 matches up pretty good. dual 380's run about same speed as a single 540.
Lol yeah I had a feeling this would happen but I love the sound of the gear drive like using a rescue boat it makes it a whole new adventure lol I will probably be doing twin 540 silver cans might as well have some power hope i can find a set of counter rotation props
@@AdventureTimeRC dual 390's for sure plenty, they'd share the load and both could run .09 props. counter rotating definitely have to set both motors to neutral brush timing then wire parallel, they'll run in step at their most efficient least current draw.. neutral timed would run 12-13 mph. but wouldn't worry it. two 390's spinning standard CCW into standard props with those dual rudders won't do anything bizarre, should shove it along 15 mph too once rolling. two 540's and battery to feed starts getting heavy.
Oh Brint...... That went well - until it didn't!! 😞 I don't know if Lindbergh did it intentionally, but that thing screamed like a Detroit Diesel!! She looked great out there though!
Way to go Brent. You and Gerry have me looking at these dang boats now lol 😆. Awesome ship. Looks like fun

Hate to say it but those old plastic gears give the boat a nice sound once away from the shore!! Great rescue idea maybe I need a smaller boat instead of o fishing pole!!

That is very cool bro
Thank you brother
Good idea bring a rescue boat!
Sounded awesome til it quit lol. Nice rescue. I use to take a fishing pole to hook mine when they quit.
Yeah I was afraid of damage ro the fine details on the deck from a fishing pole on this one lol or that would have been a great way to rescue
Cool 👍😎😁👍
Thank you very much my friend

Me to I knew they were going to fail but had ro try love the sound of the gears thanks for watching Malcolm
PT 109 looks great yea those old set ups r not to reliable nice rescue 👍
I had a feeling this would probably happen lol

Take fishing pole with you put a tri hook on the line and a bobber up two to three feet. You can cast it over the boat and wind it in.😊
Lol that would be fun

Lol I try to watch and comment on as many videos as I can live seeing what everyone is working on
I thought you would pull back when the gear sound go weird at 1:44 :/
Once I heard the gears I knew it was done figured I would enjoy what time it had will be back out this spring with direct drive
I thought it had a diesel in it😜
Thank you I do love the sound when its working
