Love your videos on homeschool! I am an elementary pe teacher (part time) and my 4 yo daughter is in preschool 3 mornings a week. On the days we are both off school we do homeschool. I always feel like I’m choosing things at random so I appreciate your videos on resources and how you homeschool. Thank you for sharing with us!

Aw yay! I’m gonna do an end of year video (so late🙈🙈) soon! I’ll also be doing another curriculum video when I get it sorted for the 2021-2022 school year! Thank you so much for sticking around and supporting me🥰🤍

I’m a reading specialist/interventionist and honestly it looks like you are doing great. The passages that she is reading are more advanced then what my 1st graders in intervention are reading. Give yourself some grace and know that she will be more than ready to do first grade level work next school year

Alia! You are doing a KICK ASS job and Sophie is going to be soooo ready for first grade! Her teacher is gonna be so impressed with all you have taught her at home! And Remi, too, is gonna be a top student in kindergarten!

We did an online publication homeschool partnership locally through a school close to us. Unfortunately kindergarten IS ADVANCED. They had expected my son to write ESSAYS and stories while he was barely reading. We are redoing kindergarten next year. Through the same program and because I know what the schools expect now I am getting my 4 year old ready for what they are going to expect. I am not sure if I will stay with the public program or not, but I do know that the public kindergarten stuff does go into that really advanced area. They wanted him to know nouns, verbs, adjectives etc. And the writing without tears was actually a part of our curriculum. Thank you for your advice! Im going to look into teachers pay teachers. I hadn't heard of it.

I agree! I recently touched base with a couple moms who’s kids go to various school districts in our area and they relayed a lot of the same thing. I will say if you’re looking for great kindergarten English resources KinderGrammar from Tara West covers a lot!! Remi and Sophie both did it and the pacing is perfect in my opinion. With the current state of things in the US, we’ll be homeschooling until something changes to make the classroom a safe and reliable place for education!

@@MommaAlia same with us. I have pulled my older children into homeschool and my younger two have never been in public school. It is just not worth it for me.

This is our first year homeschooling too. We had to change some things up to. We wound up scratching everything I picked at the beginning.

Art for kids hub is a great channel for kids art as well! My girls LOVE it and they have preschool lessons, some easy lessons for younger kiddos and advanced for older ones and we LOVE it!

You might look at Tara West's writing curriculum. I've used both the Kinder and First ie levels and they are sooo good. The lessons build gradually and it's the only thing that has gotten my reluctant writer to actually write something.

Hi I am looking at the preschool monthly packets. Are they also called morning bins on each title?

Love this! Do you mind sharing your weekly schedule of what you teach each day? I ask because I feel I load my kinder with a lot each day but after watching your video you don’t seem too far off from me I just don’t know how to best spread it out throughout the week.

I have some day in the lives where I go over it! I will, say it’s changed throughout the year. I think each family is different but I find it best to do a little of each subject each day. With the exception of art, music, and PE (separate from their usual shenanigans lol) on Friday’s to give plenty of dedicated time to them!

Do you buy the monthly packets once a month? Or is it a subscription?

TeachersPayTeachers is almost like an Etsy for learning resources. So there’s shops that have individual listings for whatever curriculum. It could be just a single worksheet, something for a week, something for the whole year, and anything in between. It just depends what you’re looking for and what’s created! So I buy all these different resources at once and print them off as needed!

Are you continuing to homeschool into 1st grade? If yes, have you made curriculum choices? We are in Ohio and just started homeschooling for kindergarten!😊

Yes! We’re doing one more year of homeschooling. I’ve made general choices but nothing has been bought yet. I definitely will share when we do!🥰
