I just stumbled upon your channel and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did! I have gone DEEP down the rabbit hole of homeschooling RUclips videos and I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to find a secular homeschooling parent who has put so much thought into their curriculum. And it’s a total bonus that you are in Ohio like me! It has been so hard to pull the trigger on purchasing many of these curriculums/workbooks and you have given me the push to purchase! Thanks so much for this. It truly is so helpful!!!
I hope when you get going you can do an update on how you liked the curriculum you've picked and maybe if you have come up with a routine that works well. We are getting started on some informal homes preschool so I am super excited about this content!
Thank you so much for this video! It actually is pretty hard and frustrating to find a really good secular curriculum, but your video gave me tons of resources!
It's interesting to see other states requirements for homeschooling. In AZ there only real requirements are for high school, other than that reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. That seems like so much curriculum for kindergarten, that's crazy that that's all required. That would overwhelm me.Try the book Me on the Map, it may help Sophie with learning about area. There is a little project where the child draws there home, town, state, country, etc. Check out #naturejournaling on Instagram for science. We like the It's not the Stork books for health. You either like them or you don't. The 3 and up version has cartoon pics of Male and female with penis and vulva labels. It also goes into where babies come from.
Be totally happy you don't live in MD. We must teach math, reading, social studies, science, health, music, art and p.e, to a kindergartener. Very overwhelming
Usborne’s “Look Inside Your Body” is a lift-the-flap book that’s a HUGE hit with my 4.5 year old. Tons of info about anatomy and how the body works.
Thank you!!

I agree that the DK K Geography workbook looks a bit advanced, we looked at it and ended up ordering the Pre-K one to use with our Kindergartner!
I’ll check that one out!
Usborne books probably has some kid friendly health and body books. They are easily found in the UK not sure about the US though.
Thank you!
There are some great secular homeschooling groups on Facebook!

Thank you! We're currently doing K12 for kindergarten and I don't like it. We'll transition to homeschooling within the next month.

How are you liking the river of voices?
Oh I guess you aren’t using it yet.
Right, we haven’t gotten to it yet. I have read through some parts of the teacher portions tho and it leads me to believe I will very much enjoy it!!
