He said something very telling in the post-match interview v Aberdeen.....not quoting exactly but he said something along the lines of how he's looking forward to improving the team over the coming years. Got the impression he was thinking long-term, and why not, he loves living in Scotland, he's done England and made a lot of money
If we win the title this Season (which is beginning to look very likely) that takes us on to four in a row again and I think given his age and provided the Board remain on page with him he might fancy taking Celtic towards the fabled _Terry Munro_ . That would be some legacy for Brendan at this Club. The reason I say this is unless he bags a massive job like Man Citeh he won’t get near European Success but at Celtic as Rangers proved you can make a European Final provided you get the approach right. If he can continue to build a side good enough for Champions League participation then that’s a side good enough for Europa League later rounds. That might also be something he’s factored in. The fact is Celtic are never going to lift another big cup under the current constraints we face financially but a Europa League Final is attainable provided we can continue to build and improve. To do this would need time and backing which he has on his side at present. Dominating Scotland and focusing on making us a name in Europe on again will make Celtic stronger financially and at the end of the day this should keep the Board and Investors happy.
See the larger chat for a full understanding. This is just a snippet. The co-efficient is out of our hands to a large extent. Us doing well alone may not be enough to maintain out our ease of UCL entry. That’s the reality, whether we like it or not. 🤷🏼
well look, If the champions league goes well this season and next then I suspect he might extend for 1 more year. But, I don't see him extending much more beyond 1 more season. A 4th season with Brendan could be amazing. A change of any successful manager is traumatic for any club, which is why we must be compiling lists and sounding people out already. id like a manager from the Bundesliga as I cant see an outstanding British manager anywhere at the moment. would Marco Rose look at it? but lets face it the Huns cannot wait for Brendan to go, he is Kryptonite to the huns and they are waiting and will rejoice when rodgers goes. I guess we could flop in the champs leag qualifiers next season and then that would probably spell the end of rodgers at the end of that season.
@@tonycassidy4112 Maybe Tony. Maybe not. He said he was here for 3 years if he doesn’t get emptied. Might consider that with the coefficient it is a good time to be off. 3 full years of Champions League with Celtic. Looks great on his CV and he may well have attractive suitors. Staying and battling through multiple qualifiers and possibly lesser Euro competitions might take the sheen off that. Seems like some of the emotional commenters can’t cope with that being a possibility.
@ACelticWorld yes, Gav, just feel he gave everyone fair notice, Brendan's a big money man, a good lad but ultimately one of these "footballer" types, it is what it is ... up to the Board to do their job, they have time but should start talking quietly to 5 or 6 potential candidates as and when, i guess Dermot already knows this, it's not a problem just a job needing done, same as with ongoing improvements to the squad ... a better and stronger squad ... qualifiers should then be straightforward, as they shooda been for 20yrs 🙂
What a ridiculous programme to have and totally unneeded...this is the exact entitled fan base we have where you can always make a negative out of a positive time...get a grip of yourselves
@@1976Doc Entitled? Entitled is thinking we’ll be in the Champions League year after year. Anyway you do you Doc… 😁
@@rabfra3743 We are doing that yes but the co-efficient isn’t in our hands alone. We need all SPFL representatives to gain as many points as possible. But well done with the bitter huns shit. Shows the weakness of your grasp of the facts. But thanks for your meaningful contribution. Glad you took the time.
@ACelticWorld your facts are that we need to qualify because of the coefficient? But if we have a champions league team qualifying shouldn't be an issue. And the more we qualify the better chance we have of getting straight in or only having 1 qualifier. This is the only channel iv seen that has turned what we are doing into sort of negative. Most of the other comments agree with me. I want your channel to do well but you need to learn what people want to hear and it's not that celtic are in trouble in the future.
@ Not negative to deal with reality. We have a UCL team now which is awesome. We should get through 1 round of qualifying next season which will be awesome. We should cherish these years in case the SPFL has NO UCL representatives in future years. We can’t qualify for the UCL if the UEFA coefficient puts 1st place into Europa league qualifiers. That’s a possibility. Let’s hope Celtic Rangers and Hearts combine to gather enough points this season… and similarly next season…

Doc it needs to spoke about mate. Time is flying by.
What??? Isn't the case that we are trying to build a football team that competes in the champions league long term?
