The mommy smell thing is real. My mom always wore coco mademoiselle because she wanted me to have a signature scent for her - and I do. My dad meanwhile smelled like 80s era Lagerfeld - which they don’t make anymore but I found a bottle at my mom’s and it’s like all the memories

The minute you mentioned ”Guerlain”Spiriteuse Double Vanille” I was going to jump on and suggest that you try Frederic Malle‘s ” Musc Ravangeur” because it’s not a super sweet vanilla but has it as a beautiful undertone with spices, Woods and a touch of musk… It’s very sexy and a skin scent that pulls people in. I have always gotten compliments on it and worn it for years since my son was very very young. Now at 28 years old he says this is his “mommy scent” Just the way your son does… I am here to tell you that it has carried from age 5 to 28 and he still mentions it every time I wear it. He says he will always think of me when he smelled it throughout his life

Frag head here too. My go to is Chanel No5 l’eau. Has the same scent as the great classic but lighter. It goes with anything and makes me feel sophisticated. For knock em dead glamour I use Portrait of a Lady for the rose plus frankincense bliss. I have darker vanilla perfumes but find them so overwhelming I am looking for one that is calmer. I am off to try out that Oud. I might also buy me a Replica one. They have a good suite of autumnal scents. I used to be a Guerlain girl but the base notes of them can be a bit much for modern tastes. Still have an ancient Shalimar you can smell on clothes for months!
My date night, or when I really wish to leave an impression perfume is Nasomatto Black Afgano. I know it's not the most feminine scent ever, but so dark, so mysterios and beyond erotic. I don't want to live without it.
Non-niche fragrances, but I love Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture as an ‘everyday’ affordable fragrance. Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is my luxe ‘everyday’ scent. Special occasion scents for me are White Suede by Tom Ford (it’s like being wrapped up in a comfy white sweater), Black Orchid by Tom Ford, and For Her by Narciso Rodriguez (this is my hubby’s favorite scent on me). I have been wearing moon carnival by Vilhelm - strong recommend if you like stand out fragrance - it is so nice ,and for me, up with the Baccarat rouge for smell and intensity - possibly not as great a spread around the house though!

BR 540 doesn’t get old even if it’s so hyped and it has been cloned a ton. I have the 70ml original and 200ml extrait and I also got a 540 clone car freshener, it’s just intoxicating. Some of my for life perfumes are xerjoff accento overdose, TT Tabit, ex nihilo Fleur Narcotique & a lot of xerjoff.

The last thing I want, is to have a signature scent! Why would anyone want to use the same perfume every day? To me, that would be like wearing the same clothes every day, or eating the same meal every day. There are so many great perfumes out there, and I love discovering them. I cannot imagine choosing just one. Or five, for that matter.

The Initio Oud for Greatness is the only "heady" fragrance that doesn't give my husband a migraine. I think it's because the blend is so smooth and mellow, if you know what I mean. I haven't experienced the other fragrances you've mentioned and probably won't but, that doesn't stop me from enjoying a well presented vid 👍. Much love 💜💗💜 PS : Your little boy sounds too adorable. Hi, I tested Magenta and was pleasantly impressed! But there's a tobacco note that I can't bear... I'd be very grateful if someone could recommend me something similar, but without tobacco, insense, oud or other smoky notes 🙏 I also don't like leather, suede and moss.
Funny story; I was on a cruise recently and I had put Delina on for the evening, even though I had my Bacarrat Rouge with me. When my husband and I were waiting for the lift I got a strong whiff of BR540 on a lady in front of us, and I commented to the hubster that someone was wearing Bacarrat Rouge. Her husband overheard and turned to smile at me and I had two thoughts: Maybe it’s him wearing it, and secondly, I want to go back to my cabin and change my perfume ❤

I have gone down the rabbit hole with niche and I don’t know how I can pick top 5, but if I had to it would be Ani for when I take the kids out or meet friends for a coffee, Xerjoff fatal charme for a fall fail proof scent- vanilla, but not too sweet, Iris and violets, but not grandma-ish, Pantheon Roma M if I am on the hunt- that rose- and I hate rose frags 🤌👌; Anone if I want to be a bad bich and Fantomas if I am feeling energetic, but not green- it is beast mode, but just very bizarrely right. And these are just for fall. Dolce Amalfi, A’mmare, Terra Mia were most worn this year, Gris Charnel is this week. My, how to pick five!

The original baccarat Pulls too medicinal on me but the extrait version is amazinggggg on my skin. But I don’t get much silage from it unfortunately
