Britney Howard is probably the greatest Rock Vocalist performer I've heard in 30 years. This performance is 2nd only to Alabadma Shakes performance of Hold On on the Jools Holland show. I bawl everytime I watch it. Incredible

She went home from work one day and told her daddy she was going for it and she wasn't going to fail. She and one of the guys were friends in high school and used to get together after school to write songs. Her older sister died very young and she was learning to play the guitar. After her death, Brittany picked it up and it seems like she never looked back.

Once in a blue moon a really great band comes along and this time we are blessed with the music of Alabama Shakes, this music is so down home, Brittany's voice is so soulful, pure raw blues, she has a lot of similarities of Janis Joplin. And she can play pick a good guitar. I hope they stay true to what got them here, This is damn good music and I cannot wait to see them in concert
