I feel like if we do get a collab, they could probably do something like a league makeover with Rival Wings lol it already sorta plays like it and makes the most sense for content
What you describe reminds me in how the trailer showing off Euphrosyne had a combo Althyk/Nymeia joint enrage that was shown off, but even day 1 there's never been a group i've been in that got anywhere close to that going off. That imaginary enrage only gets further and further away with time.
I actually did see it once, in a full blind group that went in on day 1. Had a bunch of people die to one of the early mechanics (I think one of the gravity bits) and healers couldn't keep up with both ressing and healing for a while, so we just lost too much DPS. Also, in case you haven't noticed: the two bosses actually have a buff counting down to the enrage; it's 8 minutes, I believe.
I doubt they'd do a full champion but they'd absolutely do collab skins. If they didn't do basic FF job outfits like White Mage, Black Mage, Onion Knight, etc. they'd probably go with the post-Shadowbringer scion outfits + obligatory Zenos. Going the other way, frankly Aurelion Sol would probably be the best crossover character if they went the Ratholos route and turned him into a trial. He's got the scale for a bombastic trial, and they could turn him into a mount using the Alte Roite model.
I really wish Square Enix includes FFXI inside FFXIV subscription just like WoW does with Classic and Retail, I really wish to visit Vanadiel plus I bet alot of my friends would love to test XI if it's included in FFXIV subscription.
Not gonna happen. They've said that they're keeping XI alive as long as it makes enough money to keep itself afloat. Sub costs are how they do that. Combining it with the 14 sub just means they would have less sub money coming in than before, but more possible players. Makes it harder to justify keeping the game alive.
@@bagnetic8910 Well then I hope they make a different bundle subscription that includes both games like instead of 15 a month it would be like 17 or something, so you can have the choice to pay for Xi or XIV or Both. Being just one card slide and have both games payment sync helps a lot too also since its a bundle you can return to pay just for XIV or just for XI anytime. I'm just throwing ideas that probably Yoshi-p have already though about it but I wish to help XI, its a good game and It would be cool to boost it up with new players from XIV
@@bagnetic8910 What would be a good alternative then for the long run? I assume there will come a day that the game becomes no longer playable. Would they have to develop some sort of offline mode for people to experience this mainline game?
I disagree somewhat on the difficulty of Jeuno. There are aspects to specifically the Shadow Lord and the quintet bosses that are distinct and more difficult than the likes of the Lighthouse, and much harder than anything in Myths of the Realm. One is noticeable overlap between consecutive mechanics that requires reading the next mechanic while executing the previous one. Don't look at the next Shadow Lord clone early while dodging the previous ones, or don't start prepositioning accordingly, and you either miss a tell or run out of time and get hit. Those make you read early and move fast. Other casual content rarely does that, and I don't think any of Ivalice hits that level.
I don't disagree with your comment that much but, if we compare difficulty near launch, ivalice had some very tricky bosses that had wipe after wipe (notably Hashmal and Thundergod). Obviously the difference in battle/job design in general might have played a part though but yea
And mrhappy is right that construct in the lighouse has that electric pulses mechanic which leaves little room to maneuver while managing spreads and a distance based mechanic. Hashmal has chasing aoes under players while also doing half room cleaves and the towers falling etc. I think Ivalice is in general tiny just a bit above Jeuno in mechanics, while some specific parts of Jeuno are more complex than ivalice
@@sadmiqoxiv ....I literally explained exactly what. You'd have to be deliberately obtuse or not read the comment. It's mechanical overlap. The tells are in the middle of the previous mechanic, and you often need to read and start prepositioning for the next one before the previous one goes off. If you watch the current mechanic until it goes off, you will die.
Thanks for the interview review Sir Haps. I certainly can't speak of League since I never played it before, but I can agree with you that mechanics in alliance raids or any fight in the game should have their biggest combo show up more along the middle of the fight than at the end. It seems like when we talk about the ilvl syncs, balance, etc; it seems to miss the mark a lot. After they had to boost all of the jobs because of PCT; I know content in DT is already a lot more easier than it should be.
In 3 years of XI I played for half as many hours as I'd go on to put into warcraft over the next 18 years; 10k hours in XI and 20k in wow. My XI main is still my most played character ever in any video game. My wow hunter is close at 8k hours, and my XIV character is my third most played at near 5k. These are insane numbers of hours to think about 😅
I think the champion could be someone less "spoilery" (i know its already probably very hard to not spoil yourself about Emet if someone is interested in XIV but)
League of Legends could honestly fit in really well if they decide to use the Void realm in league as their collaboration. I can definitely picture Cho'gath and co fitting right in.
LoL crossover could be just glamour for us and some FFXIV based skins for LoL. But I would love to see a Rival Wings map based on Summoners rift, with mechanics from that game like Baron and the Dragon etc. The problem is that Rival Wings is unpopular af 😂
Regarding bosses not lasting long enough, this has been a complaint of mine for a long time, especially regarding previous expansions raids. I think SE needs to adjust how much gear above minimum requirements affects speed of clearing. Probably unpopular opinion but I personally think the crystal tower raids need to be returned to closer to their original difficulty regardless of if you're wearing level 50 or 100 gear.
If they make a League of Legends crossover, 1. Do it as a PVP Event, for instance Crystalline Conflict. 2. I would need either Ahri or Riven's skin as glams... but with the popularity of Arcane they're probably going to pick Jinx, Vi & Caitlyn.

Honestly the only ff14 character that fits modern rito games is zenos with his 50k dashes in his solo fight so thats more than likely the champ going in. but honestly jokes aside, it would be cool but rito dont seem to like to do collabs with anything but singers and stuff. if anything, smite would probably be the moba to pick up ff14 at that point

The sad part was that it wasn't really even that. It was similar but I remember it was so bad because you could not just hit alt-e to open equipment menu like in XI. In fact there was no shortcut to open the most basic shit. So - I really do wonder, if they actually ended up going with 1.0 - where it would be today. XI is incredibly more interesting progression and evens wise, on a whole other level. If they actually pulled off the original idea of FFXIV I think it would be in a way more interesting spot right now. But yea, they gave in and just copied wow while XI funded the relaunch
As I understand it, FFXIV 1.0 was worse than FFXI-2 would have been. It was like a graphics update that made the game unplayable with systems that were somehow worse than FFXIs in every way.
I've seen so many picto mains named Hwei... I stopped counting after day 3 of picto release, never thought there would be so many. It seems there are a lot of league players in FFxiv.
More sweet glam? Sign me up, no matter where it comes from. Fall Guys was already a curve ball that probably no one expected, so why not... As much as I liked the NieR content, especially for the awesome music and aesthetics, it'll always be weirdly out of place, with no connection to XIV other than "it's there in the first, but also not really". I much prefer when they integrate it and make it make sense in the game, so this approach with XI is very welcome. If they keep the promised content going, despite the still weird delay of grindy midcore stuff so late into the expansion, .2+ is looking juicy!
For the FFXIV riot games collaboration I doubt they'd take characters and turn them into skins. This is due to Riots main point being readability. You should be able to look at a siluett and know who it is instantly. There are also already LOL skins that have some generic influence from ff as skins, Soulhunter Kayn shadow form is a red mage, Veigar who already looks somewhat like a black mage/Vivi has a "White Mage Veigar" skin, Darkforge Jarvan 4th looking more like a Dragoon than normal (Kain), Secret agent Xin Zhao looking like a Turk from FF7 (it's a very generic design). I'm sure there are more but those are some I remember when thinking for 5 minutes
I'm not sure it's correct to say "most" enjoy the higher difficulty. I've seen a lot of complaints and people outright quitting the game or keeping their sub but not playing/letting it lapse one month at a time (to keep their house) aside from people outright quitting. I don't think the difficulty increase has been a net positive for them, and the game has become more toxic, with the forums (and I mean even r/ffxiv, which used to be a happy factory) being more toxic, something that seems to happen any time a game tries to go more hardcore. So I'm not really sure it's been good for the game. We needed more midcore content, but removing the casual stuff to do it hasn't worked out well.
I think more people would've quit the game out of boredom if we kept getting stuff like the EW alliance raids. Especially with the story no longer being something to anchor people to the game, which actually might be the case with "casual" players and not really the increased difficulty.
Nice callback to Aracne Eve, Ozma kinda overshadows everything in Weeping City for the community that we usually forget about the other bosses. She is a pretty cool fight, i like the part of having to stand in the web to not get sucked. Weeping City is a cool ass raid

I thought it would have been a cool way to show we are deeper into pandaemonium but oh well.
14:29 this is still the main thing for me. They *need* to make the ilvl scaling less OP on the alliance raid bosses, especially with jobs getting buffed as well. Even if the fights are better, if they die so fast it's not gonna pack that much of a punch. Imagine how it's gonna be in 7.5?
Yeah man idk just make alliance raids more chaotic again at least some of them, they will be figured out after a few weeks anyways and again, there is 2 hours to clear these. I'm a casual player and i'd love more things like that. I do think Jeuno is a very great step in the right direction though
Idk wtf the devs are smoking Jeuno was a cakewalk all the mechanics were so telegraphed and easy to understand. The cast bars that needed to be silenced last forever basically 😂
