Give a big like for Dan getting in those kids armbands 😂😂😂
Floaties!!!! haha
Last summer we broke the pool , too😢. And we tried everything we could to seal the hole. I bought four different adhesives and two patches, but nothing helped. The water pressure destroys a hole in the pool 😮. I had to buy a new one, so do not worry if you can not fix it. Good luck and lots of strength. ❤❤❤😊
Oh no! yea we have fixed it now if you watch to end :) ❤
@@theoriginhomestead I wrote this comment as soon as I saw the pool was leaking and I remembered mine)😄 You did great! Greetings to you from Ukraine! 🟡🔵
Dig a pond 1 foot deep 8by ten feet wide use the soil from digging the thing throw around the pond as a retaining berm and line the thing with pond liner put here and there a few small boulders to keep it down, put plants around and then hook it up to a small solar powered slow pump pumping water from your well let it drain out at the top in one or two areas and use the water at this spot to water some of the plants, this way you’ll ways have fresh water in there and it also clears up your well, you can improve your well by putting an 6 foot diameter well housing in the so rounded with filter cloth and drain rock, and cover the hole thing and you have nice and clean water, just an idea from some body living a long time in the wilderness and building things from scratch and from what you find in nature or on the dump
Thanks for sharing and some great ideas ❤
Hey Friends, It's great to see You Both getting things back in order and it looks like You're both having too much fun in the pool. Stay Safe and be Strong.
You too tommy thanks ❤
You two sure have been working hard the grass is well down now glad to see you both enjoying your selfs in the water pool with arm bands and goggles and snorkel you seem to be having some well deserved fun times apart from work stay safe see you on the next video
Thanks Michael and yea lots more to come xx
Maybe use the frame for shade netting over a fruit / tomato bed ? Easy to tie tomatoes up inside
Yes great idea we are thinking about training the grape vines ❤
We have a driveway like yours to our land and after every rain it developed those rivers (ditches) running down it. Unless you dig ditches out to the sides for the water to run off it will keep on happening. Hard to maintain a gravel/dirt driveway when the sides are higher than the drive. It was always a talking point among our family and in the winter they had to park their cars at the end and we would go and get them in our 4 wheel drive. Part of the fun of living on the land.
Hey Jeanette we agree thanks for sharing we just cannit do everything so for now we have to do what we can ❤
The bantering in the plunge pool is super cute 🥰
❤
You need to order a shade cloth to replace the poly for the tunnel.
Good tip thanks for sharing
Sprinkle the fun and laughter, always! Everything looks great! Keep on truckin 😊
Hey Linda and yes always ha sending you love too ❤
Nobody can ever say you two are afraid of hard graft !!
Love that ❤
So glad to see you have some fun on the property! Take care, Steve
Thanks Steve You too ❤
You completely restore my hope on humanity.
The things we love about our pets, you have It, and it means we lost it thousands of years ago, and you shows us all, we still have the purity animals never lost.
Thanks.
That's so sweet, thank you 💖🌻
Your land is looking good. It must have been a lot of hard work turning your hay field back into a mowed lawn. Glad to see you are getting back into a routine and are able to have fun while doing it. Your new pool will be so refreshing in the heat of summer. Loved your floaties and tube with goggles and snorkel, way too funny. Might I say Laura looks very stunning in her bathing attire. Have a great week.
ha love that glad you thought so and thank for sharing the nice comments. You too have a great week ❤❤
Great to see your banter after all the hard work. Keep having fun, between the work guy, love your posts.
Thanks, will do! ❤
Plunge pool action! Well done for safety first!! Haha lush to see you both cooling off and having fun after all the hard work! I remember the video of you guys connecting the water pipes! Haha doing a great job!! 👍
ha yea that was a good laugh too ❤
Howdy Laura and Dan. You two are hilarious. How many laps will you do in your pool, one 😂. And the floaties. At least you won’t drown. haha. What, no rubber duckies…
Hey, your land looks terrific. You have done so much. Can’t wait for your next video. Have fun you two and blessings. Stay safe and see you soon.
We did 40 laps at least ha yes us too we have lots to share been very busy ❤
It's good to see the grass cut and see your lovely land looking forward to seeing your next projects glad your doing health and safety very important in your deep pool 🙈💞🙏🤗☀️🍀
Thanks Deb yea looking a lot better and yes ha health and safety first ❤
I thought to give u a tip on washing clothes get 2-5 gallon buckets and a plunger.. Drill holes in the bottom of 1 bucket and and drill holes in plunger put water with soap in 1 bucket clothes with holes in other take plunger and plunge clothes till clean pour out and rinse hang out to dry!! There is a example just google DIY washing with buckets and plunger 😊
Hey Michele thanks for sharing your interesting idea. Always lots to do ❤
You should get something to make bubbles in the plunge pool (no, not like that Dan!) make it a jacuzzi! Also, regarding the el ratto problemo - it might be worthwhile unscrewing several boards to get at them? 😁
ha off grid sauna love it ❤
@@theoriginhomestead probably you lock them in and they can not escape.
You could use the poly-tunnel frame to go over your pool, just fasten some sun-shade material over the top of it.
Using plywood (particleboard) for the top cover you see doesn't work. You have tin left over, fashion a cover out of that! I think it would work and may heat the water a bit. 😊
Thanks for the tip that is a great idea ❤
This video is sponsored by raid insect killer! Haha glad the wasps have gone what a start to your return home!! Well done Dan for getting rid of them makes sure to seal up all the holes..How's the truck doing now? Just been working on my overlander no wasps yet! Keep at it both...working so hard but it's paying off! Much love from Wales
ha love it :) aw nice yea its doing well. Hope you having a good evening
@theoriginhomestead ah lush I hate wasps! Got attacked working on a roof once it sucked!! Yeah all good here in Wales just kicking back with a few beers!
Great video. Thank you for sharing. You are both doing a great job on the land. Take care.
Love the support you are so nice ❤
Hello guys! Another great video and great humour always entertainment and a good laugh. Keep up the good job. Big hug ✌️☮️
Thanks so much, we will do 🌻💖
You both deserve the dip after all the hard work and trama dealing with critters.
ha true love it ❤
Love your vlog, i would keep the green house material for your vegetable netting to save pennys x
Great idea ❤
Refreshing!!! Ready to start again and continue projects. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼🇻🇪
Thanks so much 🌻💖
Hi Guys, well you have been busy the land is looking good and love the plunge pool with your snorkel and goggles and armbands you were having some fun. Have you started your residencia yet?❤️❤️
Hey Maureen yes always good to laugh. We will be sharing more soon ❤❤
That was great you two it looks like you got it cleaned up Laura was a bit skeptical about the cold pool thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video and can't wait for next video.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for never missing a video means a lot ❤
Hahahaha...hilariously funny you two with the plunge pool!!! 😂😂😂
ha glad you enjoyed :)
Hi Laura and Dan! So wonderful to see you both again! Your land is looking so much better. I am very happy for you both. The part with the plunge pool had me laughing. My son came in my room and asked "What in the world are you laughing about?" I showed him and he laughed as well. It seems so refreshing and it refreshed my heart to see you both so joyful. I truly love seeing your smiles and hearing your laughter. You both work so hard to get so much completed day after day. This is why I watch your videos twice if not more. It is fun to pause and look at God's creation. I pray for you both everyday. God bless you both and so much love in Christ! ~John
Romans 15:13 NKJV - "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Philippians 4:4 NKJV - "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!"
Aw that is so nice to hear and tell your son we said hi :) Loved the bit you said gods creation really felt that... Really a lovely comment as always and means a lot to us it adds to your day ❤❤❤❤
ps also loved the loved the passages
We had a polytunnel like yours in north derbyshire and all the little squares of plastic fell out after two years so we got a proper polytunnel cover and so far it has lasted nine years.
That is good to know thanks for sharing. yes we knew it would do that but it was very cheap. We bought so that we could have a place to put our stuff when 1st arrived on the land ❤
It is a real fun watching you guys, you better get those plastic transparent sheet for your green house they are long lasting and more reliable and will handle that strong summer sun better, thanks for sharing
Thanks for the tip and we agree ❤
Just seems you need a tractor and a road leveling device OR a front add-on device for your truck to shape the gravel on the road.
Add it to the list ha thanks for sharing ❤
I dont think I've ever laughed as much as i did at those armbands and rubber ring 😂
ha love it ❤❤
A tremendous effort has gone into clearing grass! I saw you said it took about a week to do it all.
Do you plan to start a garden spot or do your neighbours give you enough produce it's not worth your effort to try to grow things until you can be there full time? Good to see the cooling off fun times! Looking forward to hearing about your visa situation❤
Hey Cheryl yea it took over a week :) Yea this is something we would do right now if we knew we could stay hear. We will be sharing more about the situation ❤
Working hard allows you to play hard! Don't let anyone tell you any different!
Love that Victor and so true ❤❤
Now that’s what I call life/work balance, lol! A hoot! 😀👏❤️
You got that right! 😆🌻💖
Good job you two! Just a suggestion to make it easier to unload gravel or dirt from the truck bed...put a tarp down in the bed and put the material on top of it. Then, at the dump site, pull enough material out of the bed with shovels until you can grab and pull the tarp off the end of the tailgate. Clean bed and no material in the hinge area of the tailgate. 👍
Hey Ron great idea and tip ❤
Ibc tanks make the best plunge pools. Clad the steel frame with pallet wood,3 cut top off ibc carefully as the top can be reused as the lid. It has a tap in the bottom of the ibc which is perfect for emptying the water out.
We agree just wanted to try this as ibcs are lot more expensive ❤
While I complete watching you fix the pool 😊 Great job guys 🎉 14:22
Love that ❤
Something I saw someone else do is somehow run a piece of PVC pipe with a cut off valve so you can empty it easily to clean it out.
Yea that is a good idea thanks for sharing ❤
I know it's not all roses but it's always nice to see you both full of humour during this clean up and re-set ... I wish you easy transition and the papers come through so you can make it your permanent home .. always love your videos thanks guys
Yea for sure but as you know always good to laugh, Thank you for been so supportive
Great work getting the land cleared up and seeing that you both are having a little fun! 😊😉
Hey Karen yes always good to laugh ❤ Thanks for support
Smiling people are happy people! lots of smiles on this weeks video, great to see you both relax after another weeks hard work on the homestead. It’s looking better every week we see it, “keep the faith” and look after each other.
😊 thank you and yes faith is so important. Thanks for watching and have a great day ❤
You both are a delight to watch and bring a smile 😊hard work again achieved. ❤
Thank you so much 😀❤
You both seem to be having a blast. Always laughing and making the best of situations. Stay safe!
Thanks as always we try our best ha❤
i heard rats mice etc hate peppermint extract so try that Laura also Dan ive seen a few videos on guys building sheds from pallets you may need some pressure treated 4by4s and the proper material for the flooring and some metal for roof but the siding could be all pallet wood Great Job you guys keep Rockin never give up and keep the dream alive 🎉❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing and great ideas. ❤
Use plywood or shutter plywood very strong!
:)
Hi Guys, just to let you know I think your awesome!! Don't remember how I started watching you probably DIY related I'm 64 yrs old and have had to do a fair bit myself and I totally relate to your have a go attitude, all power to you!! Your one of my first go too's when I get the chance to watch RUclips......positive vibes folks😊 ( currently attempting to travel from UK to Oz by motorcycle alone)
love that glad you found and thanks for the kind words. UK to Oz will be incredible journey hope all goes well 😊 ❤
Great to have some water close by to cool off! Funny
It really is Linda x
Love the plunge pool - epic summer evenings 🤙🏻👏🏻🥂
❤
Happy days ..have fun guys
Thanks Paul
Hey you 2! I had a great laugh at you both this week with the plunge pool😂😂😂. Just want to say though that you need to be careful on really hot days, hopefully the water will heat up a little but still be refreshing. With sun your body can go into shock with drinking lots of ice cold water. So May be the same if the pool stays that cold. Cos the sun's different to a sauna and plunge pool.😉sorry for the essay😂😂😂
Your welcome to your comment and thanks for sharing concern and thinking of us but we will be fine ❤
It was necessary to have some fun. It keeps you sane.
Fun is the key for sure ❤
You guys are gonna be OK I have faith in you both
Thanks for the love ❤
Maybe get some recycled concrete for the pot holes i think it’s cheap might help you out when it’s wet 👍I wish I was younger I’d be out there like shot ❤❤❤
Thanks for the idea Terry ❤
After all the hard work fixing potholes and sorting out the poly tunnel. Nick who has a channel called Project Portugal suggested in his most recent video that scaffold debris mesh makes a good shadecloth as it's strong and UV protected so doesn't disintegrate in the sun as easily. It would make an excellent cover for the poly tunnel. It can be bought in 3M X 50M rolls for about £40 in the UK.
That's interesting, thanks for sharing 🌻🌿
Love the plunge pool guys
Thanks Kevin ❤
The arm bands are very fashionable. You both rocked them . Great to have somewhere to have cool dip. Maybe get a shade sail to keep or nice and cool
Ha and yes some shade may be needed for sure ❤
Love watching your videos as you both seem to be cheerful all the time. You are doing something we have wanted to do for years but just never got round to it yet, seems a pure pain having to leave for soo long until you get your residency sorted.
Thanks for the kind words and we agree its tough doing that for sure ❤
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless us all in divine light 💓. Ha ha funny, cold water is very healthy. But I also would have a hard time to get into the pool.
You guys did a lot of work already, good work 👍😁💪👌👏👏👏.
Cold water is a challenge for sure 😅 Thanks for tuning in 🌻
Hey my friends seems like you’ve done a lot of work on the land 👍 and as far as the water pool yr having to much fun 😀
Yes we are we are slowly getting there :) Thanks Sammy
Y’all!! Bravo y’all are amazing, I-will suggest that y’all can use the frame for a greenhouse if y’all thinking in do a garden, the frame is fantastic for that purpose. Just need clear plastic.
Thanks for the tip! and good idea thanks x
So funny works alright keep you cool no one else will have one like you Dan you should build some steps or decking round the top and you could put a nice sun shade over the top for when it gets hot hot hot
Thanks Patricia and yea defo something may add thanks for taking time to comment xx
Thanks guys, i really enjoyed the video. You've done a great job of tidying up the land. You're both so funny, i've had a good laugh! See you next time 😂 ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words we are getting there looking a lot better ❤
Always enjoy you two! Tug of war..you both do entertain
ha glad we can entertain ❤
Great video guys, I loved the fact Laura had her seat belt on driving thru the land 😅 Have you thought of cutting the top off of an IBC for a plunge pool? Also it'll be easier to connect pumps/filters to the plastic ❤
ha love that yea we did but when we 1st arrived the ibc were so expensive to do that and we have the free pallets knocking around so just utilised them. But as you say a ibc is better idea ❤
@@theoriginhomestead Hi guys yeah I totally agree free is better, I've noticed here the price for a S/H ibc has gone up, you used pick them up 50 euros! I think more people are gardening and saving water. Keep up the good work guys and have a great weekend
I been waiting for this and you guys didn’t disappoint love it the home stead is coming along nicely (and you are a gorgeous lovely beautiful lady 😊) remember slow and steady guys be careful and safe ❤❤❤❤❤until next time
Thank you so much and yea for sure we will get there ❤
Caught up to new pool plunge , well done for getting into cold water xx❤❤
ha glad you caught up ❤
Great plunge pool, maybe use the old one to cover the top to keep things out while not using!
Good idea thanks for sharing
Amazing. You doing great and I like seeing you laughing
Thank you so much 😁
You two are like a breath of fresh air
I’m so glad that you are having fun as well as having to work hard
Stay safe ❤
Thanks Jennifer for your positive energy. You too hope you having a good day ❤
you need gravel in those potholes and soft spots to do the job properly, but if you don't have then I suppose, if you did have, you'd put course gravel first or rock and finer layers as you built up...but you'd need to do the whole length of road that was scoured out
Thanks for sharing tip ❤
@@theoriginhomestead no worries young'uns...wish the best for your future including your permanent visa hopes
Hi Laura and Dan ,love your vlog another great vídeo, stay strong, God bless you 🙏❤
Thank you so much! hope. you well ❤
It's great you got the pool working again so you could enjoy a refreshing dip after working in the heat of the day. I love that Dan was so safety conscious 😂😂😂 and I could tell by Laura's face that the water was 🥶 🥶 freezing, keep enjoying yourselves 😊😊
ha yes indeed xx😊
Build yourselves a tine drag for the truck. You can keep the road in good condition year round. 😊
Good idea! that would be great to add in the future ❤
Muy originales ustedes ,me encantan ,hasta la proxima😊

❤
Awesome and funny video!!
Thanks! 😃 glad you enjoyed it 🌻
Yay I'm still laughing, not af you but with you, a really great vlog.🎉❤
Glad you enjoyed ❤
You have birds singing . Nice
:)
Great idea to have the plunge pool, especially when those temps get up! One thing to bear in mind with the pool being uncovered, it won't take very long for algae to start to grow in there, also you're going to get some "visitors" living in the water - mosquito larvae, dragon fly larvae, water boatmen, backswimmers (they bite) etc. Might be a good idea to look into some way of chlorinating the water so you two don't end up catching a bug!
Thanks for comment and sharing when the water warms up we will use on land and replace the water so algae shouldn't build up ❤
Dumping in some hydrogen peroxide once in a while should zap everything and just turns into water when it’s done
pulling that pipe - Dan with the gloves and workpants, Laura rocking shorts and sandals :-)
Oh yes!
I would suggest for your soaking pool to, as you stated get a better liner, and 2nd use light colored tin to reflect the sun and that way you will have no dirt ect in the water. If you put a hinge on the tin, so that when you want to use it, it is a simple matter of lifting the tin cover and when you are done, put the tin back in place with also a latch of course. One sheet of tin cut in half might be all you need for the lid.
Thanks for sharing the tips David 😊
Loving the way you work together : )and your Divine mercy Jesus in your van : )
Thank you! 😊 and yes that picture is a powerful one for sure
Great job
❤
Those cheap tarps just aren't designed to stand up to much sun, even UK sun. Just like the polytunnel.
We agree ❤
Y’all are too funny!
Glad you enjoy ❤
You two are hilarious, and it’s so fun to watch. Glad you have the plunge pool, refreshing when you need it.
Have a good week. 🙋♂️🐈🐈
Thank you! You too! glad you enjoyed ❤
Hi Guys enjoyed your video from a snoggie in Pedrógão Grande 😊
Oh nice thanks for tuning in! 💖🌻🌻
