I was all ready for a trip to A&E thinking I'd need a drill, plasters, nails, a hammer and bandages but then I saw your video and I'm sure I can find pretty much everything I need around the garden and in the shed.
Thank you for an easy peasy way to help our little friends.

    They rid gardens of
    ALL THATS DESTRUCTIVE ....
    And that's great news...

you've got some good tools, for a nice home, and an extra tall ceiling, super!
.. however, the bottom bricks should be positioned/set in a bit inside of the ground because they fall sideways when predators poke noses inside or wind blows, or can even when hedgehog bumps onto it, and what's worse- if one side brick falls, the impact from the brick or the top cement tile sliding over can kill hogs.

Thank you Harriet. My shop bought hedgehog house is a little wrecked as I’ve had it a long time.Something definitely uses it and we have hedgehogs but I never check it, I just leave it covered with brambles in a unused area. I have bricks so I am going to do a hedgehog house and hopefully I might have some interesting visitors.Thank you 🦔🦔🦔

From my experience, hedgehogs don't like bricks, I believe it's because they're too cold. I made a brick hedgehog house, my male hedgehog nested right next to it, under a pile of grass cuttings, and the female chose to nest under a pallet of iron bars on the opposite side of my garden. In the end, rats took the brick house.

I tried the brick one but my Hogs never used it i made a wooden one with a hinged top and a 30 Cm tunnel entrance to stop predators pawing insid the house been a success witH ogs using it last year also disguised it a bit with twigs and branches over it

Well that’s all very well, but sometimes I have to live in the real world. My hedgehog got in by climbing over the shrubbery I think. No other way as I have a Victorian walled garden. The walls are crumbling and unstable and I cannot go knocking out bricks as they 140 year old structures would fall down. So I made a feeding station. And I bought a Hh house and stuffed it with straws. Hex does use it, but I’m sorry. H he doesn’t have access to the other gardens. And I don’t have grass but I do have kids of borders and dense shrubbery. So I’ve fine my best for him.

We are lucky enough to have a hedgehog visiting our garden, some videos on my page. Don't think they have used our hedgehog house though sadly.

Just got a new sub! Really good way of using the 'stuff' hanging around in most peoples gardens. Could you tell me is there any preferential direction the entrance should face?
