Hi, yes definitely a caterpillar of some sort, we thought it was the brown tailed moth, but we’ve never seen anything like that before on trees. I was only too pleased it wasn’t spiders!! 🫣 Thank you! xx
We have just got back from blacking our sons boat Sunny dreams, we were treated to lunch on Friday at the Kings head and had one of the pods which was lovely. It was a bit touch and go coming back as the river levels had gone up a lot but we made it back to his mooring ok on Friday. xxx
Aww that’s lovely! The Kings Head pub is a beautiful place, we loved it there. Glad you got back ok, it is worrying when the water levels go up isn’t it xx
Hey there really good vlog, I'm local to the area and you can have a wonderful breakfast at that pub. Anyway keep the content coming and I'll see you both on the next one. 😉
Beautiful filming, just like i was there on the boat with you guys! (Of course i would’ve brought some cake) river cruising is more exciting with all the wildlife and fishes, brilliant! And seeing Nicky taking a turn was quite the exclusive!😂 Thanx guys!
Aww yes, the lovely river Nene back in the summer, that was a lovely trip, but did you see those trees! 😱 They looked like something from a horror movie lol, mind you, the mooring at the pub was just wonderful, so every cloud eh! Thanks Eric! xx
While enjoying the cruise I was waiting for a view of my mooring at Woodford on an offshoot off the river, under a small bridge. Sadly missed but never mind was lovely to see our beautiful countryside 💕🦆
Oh, so sorry Pam. We try to be careful not to show too much detail of moored boats, so as not to compromise people’s security. So sorry we missed your mooring, it is a stunning river isn’t it. Thank you! xx
@@JulieandMartinonRIB Thanks for the quick reply & totally understand. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek anyway lol. Happy travels & look forward to the next episode 💕🦆
We moored at Oundle for 40 years so know every inch of the River Nene (we pronounce it Nen not Nene though both correct ) The first modern narrow boat that we saw on the river was moored at The Kings Head mooring, Wadenhoe. It was called Foxhunter, it was built at Fox’s yard March and that was about 40 years ago. We also moored at Brampton marina on the Ouse for a couple of seasons and enjoyed that but Oundle was nearer to our home.
Hi Shirley! Oundle and Wadenhoe were beautiful, in fact the whole of the Nene is beautiful, so scenic! Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot xx
Hi Tony, wow, just looked Ermine moth up and you’re right! Well done and thank you! Must say, it was quite impressive, the amount of webs! It looked like something out of a movie lol, I was only too pleased it wasn’t spiders! 🫣 Thank you! xx
Hi guys wonderful relaxing cruise beautiful scenery. We have a back room-entertainment room and I plugged my lap top into the video projector and watched it on the big screen it almost felt like I was there with you. 👍🏻👍🏻
The best word to describe this video is in the title, "Stunning" but I would apply that description to all of it and not just the mooring. One thing that has always puzzled me is why the need for locks on a river? I can't get my head around that. Thanks for posting.
Hi GB, thank you, so pleased you enjoy this one, that mooring was amazing! 🤩 We believe locks are there to stem the flow of the water, without locks, the current would be too strong and the river would be quite dangerous and boats would not be able to navigate. So the locks keep the water at a steady flow. Hope that makes sense. Thank you! xx
Hi Shirley, this is a strange one, apparently the bridge goes from Thrapston to Islip and some people say one or the other lol. We moored right by the bridge and went to the Woolpack In. Pub which is Islip, yet we walked from there 5 minutes into Thrapston! Lol 😂 Thanks Shirley! xx
Yes, those trees were like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie, scary stuff lol, but the Kings Head pub mooring certainly made up for it. Thanks Ian! xx
Hiya! 👋 Was lovely to meet you both too! Hope we get to meet up again on your way back up from London. Would be good to have a proper chin-wag and a drink or two! Take care! xx
You do pick the nicest places to do your mooring . Good views each time. Do you tell Martin just where to moor up. Gongoosalers .Soory not spelt right . Colin on Silver Fox used that a lot.
Hi John, we choose the moorings together, we both like the rural views. Gongoozler is actually a term used for people that watch canals and canal boats, you can look it up on Google lol xx
Oh thank you, we’ll look that up, it was certainly strange, never seen that before. Shame we couldn’t moor there, but we ended up at The Kings Head at Wadenhoe which was amazing! Thanks so much for your comment, really appreciate it xx
How low can you go, limbo the bridge 😂 Pear Tree horror mooring, looks like a setting for a horror movie 👻 great to see you all smiling as always 😊 keep up the hard work ❤
I’m no insect expert but that infestation of bugs looked a lot like some insects we have here in the us, called gypsy moths. But like I said I’m no expert on the subject.
Hi Richard, you could be right! It was awful, we really couldn’t stay there, it was like something out of a horror movie! We did report it and I even sent them video, but we never heard back. Mind you, the mooring we ended up at was just perfect, such a stunning place! Thanks Richard! xx
@@JulieandMartinonRIB always breaks my heart to see a structure, some recently over 140 years old having to be demolished, I hope the victorians who built them appreciate that…
Thanks Sonbob, it was quite eerie tbh, we just didn’t fancy mooring that close lol 😂 but we found that lovely pub mooring instead 👍 Thank you for your comment, it means a lot to us xx
Not sure what you mean Grace, but think you might be referring to those trees!! 🫣 They were awful, it was like something out of a horror movie! But that Kingston Head pub mooring was just stunning, so every cloud and all that! 😃 Thanks Grace! xx

Hi Nigel, it’s not wrong at all, I’m sure she’ll be flattered. Nikki is a lovely person and a good friend, we’re hoping to spend the summer with her again this year. Thanks Nigel xx

Hi Trevor 👋 Yes, the river Nene is such a beautiful river, we loved it. Thank you for your comment, really much appreciated xx
