This type of training may not get you a Men’s Health cover, but for rupturing opponents livers, it’s second to none 👌
I don’t know, Bas had an excellent physique. He was a model before he was a fighter.
its called hitt training very good is it i didt dorian yates traing it really works 3-4 day a week 45 minuts
@@geraldtraveller9804 Yates trained to absolute musuclar failiure with slow reps, Rutten leaves a lot of reps in the tank and prioritized explosiveness
What kind of gym puts Radiohead in the background? You're trying to workout, not have an existential depression.
The gym at your local insane aslyum
Better than what they play now haha T-pain, Katty Perry, horrible pop and rap
one thing about bas is he is really smart and thinks about how he can make something better like keeping your elbows in and having the seat all the way down
He is doing Endurance training for his Muscles because he fought for 1 round that was 30 mins long
and he is training with possibly the most depressive U2 soundtrack, complete beast
Bas is mi idol, his workout plan help me get in better shspe after covid. Thx Bas
I feel like my muscles are growing up just by watching this xD
In "The Big Book of Combat" Bas states that he does it 3 times/week.
Where do you get the book
@@ronaldgrider7463 I googled it and found it as a pdf
and this exercise makes your "dangita dangita dangita dang" strownger.
A half assed training programme done with intensity and consistency is a million times better than the best training programme that is executed with no intent.
just like dorian yates hit traing 45 minuts intense 3-4 days a week
Cam for the "bro that doesn't even work comments"
@OkWheresMyMonkey
In his big book of combat, he states that his leg training, he does all by running the hill
Bas did well in mma so I'd say so
Unbeleivable........
&
INSPIRING
Hats off to Bas
Thanks for putting this video up. Im going to try this routine.
Did it work for you?
He probably doesnt even remember barely it was 12 years ago lmao
@@tuttosalve8352 lol
this is unbelieveable training. props.
Great routine (tried it myself)
I enjoyed that. A very honest appproach to working out.
more reps build endurance , more weight builds strength. in MMA you need a little bit of both. depends on your weight division.
The better technique you have the less strength is required. Martial arts is about technique. That's why someone like Gracie could defeat Giants. Strength can come handy if your technique is lacking. But technique should be a priority over strength. Also you want sport specific strength. Weight training is not a substitute for grappling strength. If you want to be a strong grappler then grapple often.
Strength can come in the volume, lighter weights and more reps. Heavy weights build muscle and volume but not endurance.
He has a video of like a 2 hour warm up Sebastian is a machine
lol@ 3:00
I'd be lmao if I pass by him and he did that umph ah umph ah umph ah lolololol
@Southpaw447 i agree. bas is training speed(fast reps) and endurance(supersets with lots of reps) here
@billysue2
Maybe that is, but where did he get his muscle and power from?
force=mass x accel but i get your point. I think he does compound movements too with more free weights
Surprising amount of core,shoulder and lat engagement swinging the dumbells like that.I find higher reps fatigue the muscle and dont strain the tendons too much...
@jRedTree85 Tell me when you release your "NEW" training.
so do you understand my point.. i mean ive been thinking about this and what i notice in my classes, which im sure are no different from anyone elses. is that we do loads of body weight exercises, which are high rep of course. so then by going into the gym and doing more high rep i cant see much point. doing low rep can give variation to work out programes and also increase strength and power
İ will try this routine i tell you guys if its works on me 3 days muay thai and k1 3 days this
yea you should do heavy compound exercises first and the isolation exercises last. he did it backwards
i started training mma after watching bas rutten,s fight about 10 years ago and have utmost respect about him and his fighting technique,but i have to admit he doesn't know shit about weight lifting
Looks like Body Building !
this man is hillarious!
goed bezig bas...
i fully agree
They play some great music at this gym.
thats what i was thinking. the only reason i could think of was for the hammer curls if u do 24 then both arms get an equal work out as a pose to 25 or 23 where one arm would get one more rep then the other lol!
thx 4 the vid, greets from holland.
5:31 there's a radiohead song on the background :) nice video bas rutten is the best
@GlobalAmazingNews Strength and Power are two different components. Eg Strong Man Vs Power Lifting. Two different things.
Does he do this? What about plateau?
hahaha Radiohead - Karma Police plays in the background when he's doing the leg raises
@danwormald
no actually, low heavy reps is better for power, and higher but lighter reps is for gaining muscel ! Besides, 22 reps is way to many for chest press or bicep curls or triceps....once uv hit 12-15 reps, one shud definately increase weight
Breathing like he did with the strange noise from his mouth when he did his chest work out actually is breathing from the top lung not the bottom and causes stress hormone.
@EricMarius777 well of course because he trains to fight and hit hard.
radiohead in the background
@ElJefeNL thats why it power training, not body building
Why twenty four? Is It maybe your favourite number?
Some say this won’t build a good physique but if you look at Bas’s body when he was fighting and hell even now he looks jacked Doppo Orochi vibes
@doctorkickass yeah
and back ya
lol from 2.57 nice sounds he makes !! :D
@soslabass i think REPS build muscle,but sarcoplasmic and sarcomeric hypertrophy are not the same
Furious was here
@PROJECTTROJANWARRIOR hahahaha,nice man
This training is good for Football ?
@doctorkickass and being the nice guy he is, he didnt wanna embarrass Chuck by demolishing him via liver shot in the first 20 seconds of the first round
Where's the deadlift and squat?
@billysue2 yeah many big punchers in boxing never use weights,just keep practicing the punch
Mike Tyson lifts weights case closed
i wish i had even the slightest bit of dedication that bas has
Its good for martial arts
Yes, you should try to train all major muscle groups. Chin-Ups are great for bicep strength and stamina. If you're a Grappler, you need a strong grip.
this is specificly an arm workout
ehy he breath in when pushing the exercises ?
its good for everybody or its just good for gim ?
after 5:00 the radiohead in the background would make anybody want to stop training, go to a dark place and lie down, lol
i will inbox u
do you need biceps for fighting
You certainly do for grappling.
its the same as Mike Tyson if you have Cannon arms and strong legs and core whenyou hit someone they go nigh-night
geweldig XD
no wonder hes got tendonitis in both arms
how so?
+ThatGreenHairGuy cause he does high intensity exercises which isolate biceps and triceps on a daily basis.
Plus hes a very explosive guy who trains with full power every time.
Actually he talks exactly about that mistake in joe rogans podcast and he wishes he would have known it better.
Same for his knees by the way - zero cartilage. Has to walk down his carway backwards.
GooseF7 oh, i tought it was because when he was a child he had the skin condition which made him take corticoids, who affected him after aging
thanks for informing this, i was about to practice this routine
probably combination of both those things and something else too, dont u think guys?
DivineMoment very likely so
@heat4yoass A guy at my gym makes that same noise when it get's heavy;)
@corporacionmonstruo but this guy have muscles howver ? i think fast reps and high reps dont build any muscles , what u think ?
Thats wrong, the hability to build a lot or little muscle is given by genetics, anabolics or suplements and diet.
how often per week do you do this?
I do twice in 7 days superset bi-tri...dips,curls,extensions facepulls but to chestish level.The heavier push-pull days work the bis and tris aswell.
hahah thank you! i believe you should do both tbh. they both benefit u anyway... buddy nowadays there is no such thing as warriors only ameture and professional athletes. back in the day ancient greeks used to run around with armour and weapons in the countryside in the morning and fight persians in the afternoon. oh btw they didnt have creatine and whey powder after they just ate MEAT!
And thats ... how you get injured like he injured and disabled himself like he said it years later..
Why do you say that
no hed didt not treat hes injurys thats why and didnt take the rest
@@geraldtraveller9804 he told that himself in a joe rogan interview....thats not founded out of my ass
@@geraldtraveller9804 he told that himself in a joe rogan interview....thats not founded out of my ass
@corporacionmonstruo
For the most part. But Martin Rooney knows a hell of a lot more about S&C for MMA than Bas Rutten does.
is this regime actualy any good for mma?
tommy cage bas is good in mma, soooooo probably yes
he says power training, true power training is doing Olympic lifts thats how you develop true power
@2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA
Bas does his lower body training entirely by running the hill
Man that farting noise is funny
@PROJECTTROJANWARRIOR cool lol
2 people are Chuck Norris, and they dislike this video because they're scared.
If you laugh hard enough, Bas might just give a first-hand lesson of his streetfighting skills. DEDANGADADANGA DONG!
First time I heard radio in a gym
i hope youre having a lovely afternoon
@@tested123 I'm just a guy replying to a 7 month old comment replying to a 7 years old comment
@BasBovenBaas010 ohhh i thought it was "Stool" xD
His way of lifting weight is beneficial for MMA. When do you use an isolated muscle for what he does? Literally never. You put your whole body into each motion. That's probably why he puts all his body into each lift. From a medical standpoint it's "bad for you", but I don't recall him ever having any injuries from his weight lifting, and I "cheat" as they call it, and I've never had an injury, and I don't warm up/stretch either. Be different, you'll get different results.
If Bas were working at out Planet Fitness, he would set off the Lunk Alarm, and then he would kick the Lunk Alarm's ass.
I like this kind of training at 45 no injury and you burn fat with a good diet, you don't need to lift super heavy either, squatting and deadlifting are very dangerous injured my back at 29.
You don't know how to deadlift there buddy. Funny that those two movements are the most important movements you can do, but..you know better
You dont need to lift heavy if you pre fatigue the muscles and this type of training has cause Bas to have a lot of injuries to his tendons, check out the interview with Bas on the Joe Rogan show #335
2:57 fart, fart, fart ...
LOL 2:57 LOL
In a fight you can also fart, so its important to train as close to fight as possible.
LOL hahahahahhaa but hes legendary!
so he does all of these muscle groups in one workout?
Probably he'ss not a bodybuilder
regardless of what people think it obviously works! lol
For sure. I do Kickboxing so I do a little bit of everything, but a wrestler needs brute strength to throw people around. Your training should be planned around how you fight.
i tried this and its freakin exahsting, go try it, i bet half of you will give up
@TheLockon00 If you think this, you have no idea what your talking about.
probably uses machines to minimize injury...it would suck to pull a muscle by doing heavy deads or squats...then he cant fight.
thats what i was thinking. wheres the deadlifts,cleans,clean and jerks and my favorite the snatch now thats true strength training. leave the culrs for the girls Bas
@MeijerArjan Meh. I make my living as a personal trainer and this is a pretty subpar circuit routine, especially if you want to be in fighting shape.
Bas is god
haha at 2:55 Bas farted during his first rep so he had to make a simular sound with his lips every single rep after that ;)
he farts at 3:00 LOL
My family laughed when I told them I was going to get ripped with Morsch Muscle Madness, but then they saw the results. Do a search on google for Morsch Muscle Madness to see their reaction. (It was epic!)
