Yeah, when the drones get the minerals and try to escape - that is way more interesting than any Disney movie they put out in the last 5 years. I really loved it when they managed to enter the Nydus and successfully completet the heist!
i feel like harstem (and many others) woud greatly benefit from making it a habit to build one or two macro hatches like dark occasionally does. harstem is constantly floating so many minerals (and around 18:20 also 1000+ gas), and even unupgraded lings are better than nothing in a pinch. macro hatches are seriously underrated.
@@aloe7794Yeah, but if you look later at 20:40 -- he's still having trouble spending his minerals. Assuming he built 2 macro hatches he could have something like 100 lings to fight the thors. But hey, I'm just a bronze league hero
@@aloe7794 that’s probably the most important time to make units. Haha, that was probably one of the best ever! Nicely done. Here is a suggestion: "the cancel Master". Each time you wanna build a structure (and I mean any structure), you have to build and cancel it ONCE. Then rebuild it and you are good to go. Should be challenging :D
@Harstem Challenge, "Warp-in Master" have a pylon built at every base (taken or not, in the general vicinity). Seems difficult you would need to spread out your pylons early while keeping them alive and then gain advantageous position to build more in your enemies bases later while they are too busy to deal with them, perhaps you can circumvent the rules a little by having set-up warp prisms to make it easier.
Another IODIS suggestion: The max out Muta challenge: -> You need to play stanard zerg macro but you need to absolutely hide the fact that you would go muta. You need to make sure your build also doesn'T give it away. So you must have the gases and all to support a muta transition but need to show somethign else that the enemy believes. When they buy it, you need to build a bank so that at one point you can transition to all in Mutas. -> This means, yopu need to have at least 134 Supply Mutalisk in your army (66 drones are allowed) and delete all other army right before the transition by attacking into your enemy. This muta transition needs you to win the game. -> It is absolutely crucial that the enemy doesn't scout your spire until like right before the transition but you should already have 1 1 researched. That is the challenge. It will hit like a truck hopefully!
The best part of this one is that even if you did manage to hide your spire for litterally the whole game u'd still end up stuck with a army of nothing but mutas after losing a fight.
When you finished stealing the minerals was the hardest I've cheered at a sc2 game . Winning the game was just icing on the cake. Legit very stupid. Love it.
I wonder if you could have used vipers to get drones out of places. Drone goes in, gets the mineral, runs to the edge and you abduct it out. Probably way more work than dropper lord, I just love the idea of using vipers on your own units.
When you make a custom game on a melee map, you can optionally “Create with Mod”. I might be wrong on the name though. Units like Carriers and Battlecruisers which promote stale gameplay have been removed. Spellcasters like the Ghost and High Templar have been deemphasized. The philosophy is to emphasize macro and positioning and to deemphasize comps and counters.

Does the challenge have to be done with Zerg? If you're Terran you could float a CC into one of his bases and MULE hammer his mineral line at whatever point in the game is most convenient.
you are in the balance council. you should talk to them to set the attack priorities to attacking units first so terrans should click to kill zerg spellcasters to kill them. when zerg want to kill workers they need to click one by one. it would be great if i attack a worker with the lings then they priorityze the workers over the fighting units and structures.or a switch to worker attack mode.
@ harstem what about a multiple nyduses, splitting enemies attention and then load off 30 workers that go steal the minerals :D and back to nydus network. You did it almost but with too few workers and from far away ;(
Watching you clown on your enemy so hard makes me smile. I've often wondered about neural parasite on a worker. I know, I know.. its impractical.. but if you can borrow an infester at the expansion, and wait for the command center to almost finish you can fly it away? If you steal a probe you can cannon rush with lurkers no? Please don't waste any MMR on this but unranked for a gag that would make for a great show to watch. And when I play random I always try to neural my way out of the race, so it would be cool to see that actually work once.
Hey Captain, if you are interested - there is a challenge for BGMSS - It sounds simple at first - You need to perform a late cannon rush... But you are not allowed to play Protoss so you need to do it with Zerg. Gl if you decide to try :)
I feel like this isn't really "beating grandmasters with stupid stuff". It's more like beating them regularly while completing some side mission. It's hilarious nonetheless.
This is a useless comment that you promised to read. Look at my horse, my horse is amazing Now that song is in your head too, payback is what it is, sir, just don't go to candy mountain. Your vids are the stone-cold nuts and I wanna see you do this heist with TOSS without using recall.
I'm confused why so many people like this challenge. Beating with stupid stuff is awesome when trying a stupid strategy that pros won't expect anymore at that level. Stealing 50 minerals isn't a strategy, it's just a random thing to do that won't win you the game. That being said, that first match was still great, regardless of minerals collected.
hmm i think it would be more interesting if you tried challenges that at least remotely resemble a somewhat viable strategy like killing units from freindly fire splash by dropping mules, stealing a base from your opponent, making a mobile wall with barracs etc. but just stealing 50 minerals from someone is not going to give you any interesting new insights ...
This is legitimately the most anxiety inducing challenge I've ever witnessed and I have no idea why.

I love the idea of a nydus and just out comes 20 drones to steal minerals and then you manually make them walk back in the nydus after mining
2:20 that is also wonderful, you set the bar early on and the opponent knows
No need to manually make them walk back. Just shift-click the rally point back to the nydus.
