The first Stories was an amazing surprise on my 3DS. I played it so much! A sequel for Switch was in my wish list since I got it in 2017! Finally it's happening. \o
I just ignored the chat, because its always disgusting, no matter whats being announced. I was too hyped for the games being shown to even notice, anyway.
Rise seems like they're taking the best parts of both Generations and World and putting them into one game, and I'm absolutely down for that. Also, having both Felynes and Canynes is kind of awesome. And the new monster designs are fantastic as always.

I wanted to beat at least Generations Ultimate before buying it, since MH games take so long to finish and I have a bad habit of leaving games unfinished if I jump the gun on buying the sequel before finishing them. And since I have a MH game on Switch and there's so many other interesting games on Switch and other platforms that've come out in those two years I really haven't had a strong desire to buy a new MH game beyond what I already have.
Honestly, this is probably one of the best announcements! Not only have they announced an old school MH game with what looks like QOL taken from world! The announce a freaking sequel to Stories! Goosebumps the whole way through. So freaking hyped!!

I'm legitimately more excited for this than I would have been for a port of World. The wirebug, palamute, new locales and new monsters make this stand on it's own merit and have features World doesn't have. Also, graphically it's significantly better than I expected given the switch's hardware. Capcom can expect a preorder from me. Above and beyond my expectations. Can't wait!
SupremeCowJumper oh yeah, if this was a world port, it would’ve probably looked like the ark switch port did. It was smart of them to give us a new experience while making a game that’s optimized for the switch instead
So, I told myself that once I was done with Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate I would finally go play other games, but by then Monster Hunter Rise will come out, and then the Monster Hunter Stories... At this point I'll never stop playing this series xD
@@NecroOmega World doesn't have Generation's "Arts" mechanic that has fancy light effects to it similar to the ones you see in this trailer in the SnS part -- the only time I've probably seen those large laser circles was in Generations. The things added in World's combat though isn't as flashy as those in Generations.

Seriously, I have 250 hours on MHW and over 1000 on the portable games, and after all this time, I still get an itch to play MH3 Ultimate. MHW just lacks something the portables had.
I like world but I still play MHGU more and I've been playing Gen since the day it came out on 3ds. Just something about MH on a handheld that fits so well for me.
Honestly this made my day I never expected 2 separate monster hunter titles to be revealed, and the wire bug mechanic looks amazing I can't wait to be zipping around the new areas in March

Nah... its the negativity balancing itself out, folks were legit salty when MHW was first announced with zero indication of when the Switch will get some MH action. Now that time has passed, the tables have been turned.
NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT TWO new MH games, and I want both of them DESPERATELY. I'm especially excited that we're getting a Stories 2, because Stories was a wonderful surprise of a game back a couple years ago, and now we've got World monsters to play with! Can you tell me a little about what makes Stories special in your opinion? I've never played the series before but the one that caught my attention the most was Monster Hunter Rise so I'm curious as to what is different between those two...
@@DeVon675 Well first, both games utilize the unique monster designs in various ways; MH Rise and the rest of the main MH games are action RPGs as you can see in the video, with a loop of >fight monster>carve pieces off monster>make new stuff out of monster>fight more monsters. Whereas Stories is a more traditional Turn-Based RPG with with a focus on exploring the world, finding dens of eggs to add new monsters to your team so you can fight stuff and go through the story. In essence, Stories is special because, instead of just fighting unique monsters with stuff you've made, you go around to befriend and craft a team however you like among those unique designs and use THOSE to fight monsters. Stories' combat isn't the deepest mechanically (boils down to Rock-Paper-Scissors, essentially), but there's a lot of customization to making your team, and it's combat is engaging enough despite the simplicity. So yeah, that's what's unique about the two of them; one's fun because of combat and enemies, the other is fun because of exploring and customizing, and they're both super addicting because of those reasons. Hope that helps, they really are both a blast.
@@izmaeel9137 The other reply I made has general gist of the series, but if you get MH Rise you'll have a rewarding combat system and fun enemies to fight, and the core loop is enough to keep you entertained for hours upon hours; it's worth a look at the very least. Oh, and its multiplayer is top notch, so you can share the experience with others if you so choose.
If they're disappearing from their natural habitat, that means more of them are appearing outside their natural habitat, which means more people getting ambushed by Rathalos on low ranked hunts.
@@unknowjlm it kinda was in the trailer. It was demon walking. It was dark and is stalking its prey. You suddenly see purple flames. Kanji are words/symbols. You see its prey in its mouth. I think thats a sign to fear it. Also the prey is zero health
I hope Mizutsune makes a triumphant return! Also, please go back to using the traditional event quest system. I very much dislike the timed exclusivity and "this is only available this week" of how event quests were handled in World.
With how Japanese themed Rise is, it'd be an unrealistically obtuse developer oversight not to include Mizutsune and Zinogre in this game. Which, to be fair, might not be as unrealistic as I imagine (stares at the "Glavenus Greatsword" in World). Wondering if Yama Tsukami will be in as well
I ADORED Stories and I love the franchise as a whole - as soon as I can pre-purchase stories 2 you BET my wallet is being thrown at y'all. Oh my god im so excited. I hope we get a reference or two to Ratha and the original rider we played! It'd be so cool!
Well it became generation ultimate of waiting I got burn up by the mhgu and this git me fired up and check every channel of monster hunter veteran start posting their comments and stuff
This was a really good direct. Capcom is workin hard and delivering! Yesterday on the PS5 showcase they were showing off Resident Evil 8 and DMC 5 SE and now on Nintendo TWO Monster Hunter games! I also have a theory that the hunter is coming to Smash, that wirebug will be his recovery move and that's also why they didn't show off a human hunter Amiibo. I'm tellin you! I'm fine with the 4-player Hub it doesn't bother me since I first played Monster Hunter 4 ultimate then switched over to Monster Hunter world. But I am so thankful and happy there is no Handler! I feel bad for those stuck in Monster Hunter world ice-born with that annoying creature.

The only part i didnt like was when he said “yoo thas my pup” in a weird voice. I was in shock with excitement and happiness when i saw this trailer. I love mh. It would be weird if Zinogre didnt come back because Zinogre was first introduced in yukumo and was the main threat. Zinogre likes the japanese areas
I bought a PS4 last year to play Monster Hunter World. I'm so glad Capcom is making mainline Monster Hunter games with Nintendo again. Please, please, please keep this up and thank you for continuing to release them in the West. Also, another Animal Crossing collab?
It’s pretty likely that the sixth gen will be in PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This is essentially portable fifth in all but name. None of this is criticism
I'm sold. The eastern vibe is awesome. The wire bug is innovative, and to be able to play MH as it is these days on the go is superb. Monster Hunter Stories 2 also looks very interesting.

Stories actually got my sister in to MH. She is huge on pokemon so when she saw it was a bunch of chibi monsters it got her interested. Now she plays world and almost cried when she saw Stories 2 lol
If you enjoy fighting big monsters tactically with your friends, you'll probably like this. In older installments it takes a little while to get into the game because it has missions you have to do which teach you about gathering items, combining them, and crafting other things. Which are honestly really important but does not paint the game as interesting at all. In Monster Hunter World (and I assume this one, hopefully) it took about an hour, which sounds long but is shorter than the rest of it! You also get to make different weapons and gear from the monsters you take down. Again, in past installments, this grind was _really_ a grind for some of the rarer parts, but in World (and again again, hopefully this one) it was easier and felt less grindy/unfair. All in all, a solid series with fun combat and cats. Now with dogs.
mate honestly look into MHGU (Monster hunter generations ultimate) on the switch if you've got one!! it's a massive bargain for the insane amount of content in the game.. you can put 300+ hours in and still not be done with everything.. if you're interested in these new games then this game would be a great start before they come out next year!
Should definitely do some research before you get it, there can be a steep learning curve for the monster hunter series, but it’s definitely worth getting into!
You better get ready for grinding because that's what's going to be going on in mhrisr. Sometimes you have to go on expeditions get materials that you need, sometimes you have to keep hunting the exact same monster just to get that one material, you will always have to be crafting more weapons and more armor to become stronger, you have to upgrade the weapons and armor, you have to get armor in a weapon for your palico which isn't too hard I don't know if you will be able to upgrade the armor in this game for your palico, you have to complete a lot of quest to level up your kitchen ingredients and so you can unlock more Quest and continue with the story, sometimes you have to make custom builds and by build I mean not having the exact same piece of armor from that one monster just mixing it up and try to get a different list of skills,egg quest which are the worst,annoying monster which you will hate very soon, and another one is taking the loss which can be a terrible feeling in the Monster Hunter series when you are hunting a monster or a very powerful monster for so long and you try your very best solo or with your teammates and you are on your last faint and you get taken down and you have to do it all over again. There are plenty more things that I didn't mention because I don't know all of it but I just wanted to give you a few things to keep in mind.HAPPY HUNTING!😀✊
@@lixd3054 yes it is grindy, but that is both a core part of the monster hunter series, and fun, hunting the same monster repeatedly you get to know it’s habits, where it goes when injured, better ways to approach it, and so on. It’s fun.
I love what I see of Rise! Especially the Palamute, I'm a sucker for dogs. Wish you the best on development! Just one request: let us pet the good pal. Stories isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I'm glad for the people excited for it.
I'm hoping that like in most other games you can pet your poogie, that that gets extended to both the palimute (and palico) when you in the field, likely as something to do when your in a camp prior to the proper hunt in the main area
I missed the cutscenes from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate when I played MH 5 Ultimate, but looking at the trailer footage, it appears they bring back cutscenes whenever a new Monster arrives, that's fantastic!

TWO new MH games, and I want both of them DESPERATELY. I'm especially excited that we're getting a Stories 2, because Stories was a wonderful surprise of a game back a couple years ago, and now we've got World monsters to play with!
Of course I'm excited for Rise too, because the progression of a new MH game is just the best part. Hopefully we get Lagiacrus in Rise, he's my favorite.

Can you tell me a little about what makes Stories special in your opinion? I've never played the series before but the one that caught my attention the most was Monster Hunter Rise so I'm curious as to what is different between those two...

@@DeVon675 Well first, both games utilize the unique monster designs in various ways; MH Rise and the rest of the main MH games are action RPGs as you can see in the video, with a loop of >fight monster>carve pieces off monster>make new stuff out of monster>fight more monsters.
Whereas Stories is a more traditional Turn-Based RPG with with a focus on exploring the world, finding dens of eggs to add new monsters to your team so you can fight stuff and go through the story.
In essence, Stories is special because, instead of just fighting unique monsters with stuff you've made, you go around to befriend and craft a team however you like among those unique designs and use THOSE to fight monsters. Stories' combat isn't the deepest mechanically (boils down to Rock-Paper-Scissors, essentially), but there's a lot of customization to making your team, and it's combat is engaging enough despite the simplicity.
So yeah, that's what's unique about the two of them; one's fun because of combat and enemies, the other is fun because of exploring and customizing, and they're both super addicting because of those reasons. Hope that helps, they really are both a blast.
@@izmaeel9137 The other reply I made has general gist of the series, but if you get MH Rise you'll have a rewarding combat system and fun enemies to fight, and the core loop is enough to keep you entertained for hours upon hours; it's worth a look at the very least. Oh, and its multiplayer is top notch, so you can share the experience with others if you so choose.

Also, please go back to using the traditional event quest system. I very much dislike the timed exclusivity and "this is only available this week" of how event quests were handled in World.
With how Japanese themed Rise is, it'd be an unrealistically obtuse developer oversight not to include Mizutsune and Zinogre in this game. Which, to be fair, might not be as unrealistic as I imagine (stares at the "Glavenus Greatsword" in World).

This was a really good direct. Capcom is workin hard and delivering! Yesterday on the PS5 showcase they were showing off Resident Evil 8 and DMC 5 SE and now on Nintendo TWO Monster Hunter games! Stories actually got my sister in to MH. She is huge on pokemon so when she saw it was a bunch of chibi monsters it got her interested. Now she plays world and almost cried when she saw Stories 2 lol

Never been into this series but with these game's coming out next year, I'm definitely buying
If you enjoy fighting big monsters tactically with your friends, you'll probably like this. In older installments it takes a little while to get into the game because it has missions you have to do which teach you about gathering items, combining them, and crafting other things. Which are honestly really important but does not paint the game as interesting at all. In Monster Hunter World (and I assume this one, hopefully) it took about an hour, which sounds long but is shorter than the rest of it! You also get to make different weapons and gear from the monsters you take down. Again, in past installments, this grind was _really_ a grind for some of the rarer parts, but in World (and again again, hopefully this one) it was easier and felt less grindy/unfair. All in all, a solid series with fun combat and cats. Now with dogs.

it's a massive bargain for the insane amount of content in the game.. you can put 300+ hours in and still not be done with everything..

I've never played a Monster Hunter game but oh my gosh, this looks so good I will definitely be picking this up day 1
Should definitely do some research before you get it, there can be a steep learning curve for the monster hunter series, but it’s definitely worth getting into!
You better get ready for grinding because that's what's going to be going on in mhrisr. Sometimes you have to go on expeditions get materials that you need, sometimes you have to keep hunting the exact same monster just to get that one material, you will always have to be crafting more weapons and more armor to become stronger, you have to upgrade the weapons and armor, you have to get armor in a weapon for your palico which isn't too hard I don't know if you will be able to upgrade the armor in this game for your palico, you have to complete a lot of quest to level up your kitchen ingredients and so you can unlock more Quest and continue with the story, sometimes you have to make custom builds and by build I mean not having the exact same piece of armor from that one monster just mixing it up and try to get a different list of skills,egg quest which are the worst,annoying monster which you will hate very soon, and another one is taking the loss which can be a terrible feeling in the Monster Hunter series when you are hunting a monster or a very powerful monster for so long and you try your very best solo or with your teammates and you are on your last faint and you get taken down and you have to do it all over again. There are plenty more things that I didn't mention because I don't know all of it but I just wanted to give you a few things to keep in mind.HAPPY HUNTING!😀✊

Stories isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I'm glad for the people excited for it.
I'm hoping that like in most other games you can pet your poogie, that that gets extended to both the palimute (and palico) when you in the field, likely as something to do when your in a camp prior to the proper hunt in the main area

I missed the cutscenes from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate when I played MH 5 Ultimate, but looking at the trailer footage, it appears they bring back cutscenes whenever a new Monster arrives, that's fantastic!
