Loved the reaction-- it was fun watching you see a little of what Bird was like. Also, thanks for the laughs-- I'm still cracking up over "Imagine getting dunked on by a dude named Larry." That's just how the players felt-- they couldn't believe it...until his playing (and his trash talk, which, as they've all said, he backed up) made believers of them.
I hope you do more Bird reactions, so we can watch the same happen to you, as he keeps surprising you. He still surprises me, no matter how many times I've seen him do what he did, and talk his talk to the greatest NBA players ever, and then do exactly what he told them he was going to do, because they just couldn't stop him, even after he laid out in detail what the play was going to be.
There's one video you shouldn't miss-- the title is "Larry Bird-- is he the greatest passer ever? Re-edited with new footage." It's really fun, and will show you some things I think will surprise you.
Thanks for the great reaction and the laughs.

Magic & Larry, resurrected the game of basketball...My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted...What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who wasn't only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, football, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, & what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique & gifted players, I ever watched! You need to check out his video, on the greatest passer of all time-edited, or his 50 amazing assists, both show how incredible his court vision was, & how much teamwork was so important to him! *LUV your reaction & your adorable doggy* ❤❤❤

For me Larry will always be the GOAT hands down, his stats might not be as high as other players since his career was shorter due to his crazy injuries he played on. But in his time he put in so much more skill and passion against the of the most talent rich times in NBA history. Not to mention that while his teammates werent bad players he wasnt working with an insane dream team like the Lakers and was still either beating them or taking things to the wire against teams with multiple legend players.

Larry's flashiness comes from his youth when, growing up in a predominately white town, he would leave school and go straight to the court with older black dudes. He was always thankful to them for letting him play and he continued that throughout his career. He would tell the players and coaches on other teams to not put a white defender on him because it was disrespectful to his game. John Salley called Bird "The blackest white dude I ever met."

Bird had way more hustle, was a much better shooter (two, threes and free throws), was a better rebounder, a better passer, averaged more steals and more blocks, was a better leader, better fighter and was way, way tougher. Lebron has longevity and athleticism over Bird, neither of which makes him a better basketball player, just a more durable athlete. I take the better basketball player.

100% LeBron is a great athlete and basketball player but Bird was an all time great. He could and would do everything. Score, pass, rebound and defend. He wasn't a lock down defender but he was excellent at free lancing like a free safety. He would roam around and rely on top notch basketball instincts to pick off passes, steal and break up plays. He almost had a quadruple double in just 3 quarters of play. He checked himself out after the early 4th saying he had done his damage, they were up by 20 and he didn't care about padding stats. Add to that his physical and mental toughness, his hustle and refusal to back down. He would fight anyone, he said once something to the tune of if you weren't ready to go and backed down it would show and people would see through you. He was one of the most clutch athletes of all time. He demanded the ball late in the game. And his trash talking would make today's players cry... he was brutal

He and many other reactors don't take into consideration How and Why Bird is open for whatever shot they are seeing.
The game of basketball played in Bird's day appreciated a player that could do *everything* at an elite level with incredible Bball-IQ and court vision,
AND who, at the same time, was an unselfish, team-oriented player that hustled and gave his best in each game,
AND who continuously strove to elevate what his "best" was to elevate his teammates and the team as a whole. Bird played for love of the game.
The current brand of basketball is *so far removed* from that original game of basketball that many fans of the current game don't appreciate what they are seeing or recognize it for what it is.
The need to dismiss Larry for how he looks is hard for some to overcome, too.

Jordan himself said he learned everything about talking trash and the mental game from Bird. Jordan had to wait until bird was basically broken and retired before he took the crown. Bird swept him both times they faced eachother in the playoffs. I will never pick between those two but LeBron ain't even top 5. The greats didn't have to shop teams for rings. Also, they dont flop or take games off to rest. GOATS bring their teams that drafted them to the championship. Period. Mj, bird, magic, Hakeem, Robinson & duncan, Kareem, kobe and so many others. Bird played against some of the greatest defenders in the history of the NBA. Certainly better than today's soft league. They actually played defense in the 80's and 90's. The reason these guys fall so much is because of the respect they had for Bird's shot. if you did go for the fake he would generally pass the ball to an open team mate for 2. If you didn't go for the fake Bird shoots the ball and your job is over. he could pass or shoot equally as well. you, me, and anyone else would go for the fake the too. Bird would dominate in today's soft league.

A lot of reactors talk about the defense against Bird. Then as you go along you can understand why the greatest defenders hated guarding him & would’ve rather guarded Jordan. 😂

You're just scratching the surface of all the videos of his greatness. He's the founding member of the 50 - 40 - 90 club. He could shoot and pass with either hand. His basketball IQ is second to no one. I'll give due respect to all of the greats, past and present. But Larry Legend is unequivocally the GOAT.

Larry Bird preferred to play on the inner-city courts rather than with his school teams. A young Larry would take a bus to play on those courts. It got to the point where the city players started waiting for Larry to get there and wanting him there seeing he could ball. Your people were welcome to the games at that time, tickets were available for anyone to come and enjoy; the doors were wide open. They just did not come.

Bird's shot/& overall ability was so FEARED,he had guys thinking TOO MUCH;That's why they fell on his head fakes! In today's ZERO-defense game,Prime Bird would avg 30-35 PPG,11 RPG& 8 APG.Don't forget,Bird never took a 3 point shot til his rookie season in NBA! He didn't practice 3 pointers in high school or college! If he grew up with the 3 pointer,he'd avg 27.3 instead of 24.3! He & Curry have same career scoring avg,& the defense back then was FAR TOUGHER than today's NBA! TODAY'S NBA HAS ZERO DEFENSE!!!

I saw Bird play his whole career. I can tell you without a doubt, Bird is the smartest most clutch player to ever play the game! All you need to know is that Larry Legend won three league MVPs in a row, and finished second four other times. In a league with Michael Jordan in it! One of the purist shooters you will ever see. He could shoot from anywhere with ease. Bird could do it all. Bird and Jordan are the two greatest basketball players i have ever seen. Jordan was unstoppable. But Bird was unbelievable!
