This has become one of my favorite Christian songs. It is based so thoroughly on Scripture, and I praise my Lord of whom it speaks. When I deserved wrath, He gave me kindness. Mercy!
Thank you so much for doing this edit. I decided to look for this music while reading 3 Nephi 22 when the resurrected Christ quoted Isaiah’s words as His visited the people in the America after all the disasters they experienced. I could relate to it so much after 2 hurricanes hit Florida recently. He showed us His kindness, mercy, and miracles after all. I love Him so much. He is my Savior and your Savior. His kindness shall not depart from us.
I love when the baby is walking past Jesus and Jesus holds out his hand, and the baby takes his hand even before looking at whose hand it is. So, so beautiful. ThankYou.
This isn't just Isaiah 54:7-8,10, but also Doctrine and Covenants 121: 33, and Doctrine and Covenants 122:8. A reminder that those two sections were written while Joseph Smith was in the dungeon of Liberty Jail, in cold winter, at the lowest point of his ministry. It is verily the voice of Jesus Christ comforting his servant.
Isaiah 54:7-8,10. I am not Mormon anymore, but as a Christian, I still find this song beautiful. My relationship with Jesus started as a Mormon, I know we hold the hand of the same God, but we enjoy that relationship in different contexts. Today studying Habakkuk brought me to think of this song and also “I Heard Him Come”. Please look up that song as well, it is magnificent. I know that this song “My kindness shall not depart from thee” contains D&C 121 in it, if it was merely a journal entry, not canon from Joseph, I would accept this song with full heart and share it with my Christian friends. As it is, it is at very least a testimony that Mormons read Isaiah and believe in Christ and write beautiful music. I pray blessings on all who come across this message, that their relationship with God will increase and with that, their joy.
“I Heard Him Come” by Afterglow? Is that the correct one? If so, love it! My parents love Afterglow, and I’m familiar with this tune! So much power when music is filtered through Jesus Christ, it generates a ton of spiritual energy! ❤️
Thanks for the kind comment. I do wonder why you are against D&C 121 from being canonized. It has so many wonderful doctrines and principles from the Lord Himself! H
This is absolutely beautiful what you have done with the imagery of this already beautiful song. Thank you for your testimony of our beloved Redeemer, Jesus Christ!
This comment is not scriptural. We believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. And in his son, Jesus Christ the one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men. (1 Timothy 2:5). For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteousness, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit (1 Peter 3:18). And in the Holy Spirit, the Advocate whom the Father will send in Jesus’ name to teach you all things. (John 14:26).
Brady K. - May I get a digital copy of this beautiful video from you? We would like to show it for our Stake Relief Society Spiritual Night next week. Thanks so much!
Katrina - were you ever able to get a copy of this? I am wanting a copy as well for our Stake Relief Society Spiritual Night next week. Hoping to hear back from Brady K. :)
