I can't thank you enough for this...I've been stuck because I'm not comfortable on camera, just yet. This will help me to move forward and hopefully get there some day.
Edie, thank you for this video. I'm trying to record a script for an audition. The director suggested that I use a teleprompter. So, of course, I went on youtube to find out how to use the Big VU app. I would love to schedule a free no-obligation time to work with you.
Thanks for this video. What a great workflow demonstration. I use the free version of Otter and I may upgrade, but didn't know about Bigvu. Do much easier than an actual teleprompter setup! Do you have affiliate links for Otter and Bigvu? I checked the description but didn't see them. Thanks so much!
Great training. I’ve been practicing but my eyes are obviously on the script. Any secrets to looking natural? Is there an angle to help not looking like I’m reading?
Are you using the web or phone version? It's hard for the web version to keep your eyes at eye level so I always use the app on my phone. When using the app make sure you have positioned the script to scroll on the side of your screen where your camera is and have your phone and camera at your eye level so you you're not looking down or across from the camera.
The 'Recording in BigVu' chapter the video is reversed. Is the iPhone screen facing you? If so, how can you take advantage of the iPhone's (13 in my case) camera options (Cinematic, etc.)? Also, I shoot cooking videos a short distance from the iPhone, will this be an issue?
Thanks for asking @ChefLanceCooks - when recording using the front faced camera, it will record in mirror mode but once you play that video back it will look normal. I will show this live during my livestream today 6-26-24 @ 2pm EST. I will also answer the rest of your question and post the link here for you to see in the event you missed me live. Regarding shooting your cooking videos see here: www.loom.com/share/52d34588f6754f1f9066eedca7499bab?sid=f2b94709-4988-4283-bd96-7d8d7970ad55
If you recorded the video on your phone you can upload it to the desktop. It stays in the app otherwise and you can access it through the app but not through your video library on your phone.
hi and thanks for the tutorial. One thing I don't understand ... wondering if you can you explain? After one edits the text in the Otter WEB app, can't they send that script directly to the Bigvu PHONE app? Why upload it to Bigvu WEB app since it has already been edited and fixed? I guess you have to "create" a project on the Bigvu WEB app in order to get it into the BigVu PHONE app. In other words, you can't save the otter script to your desktop and then export that to the Bigvu phone app to read? thank you!
Hi Patti! Sorry for any confusion. I created this video back when I wrote my scripts by narrating what I wanted to say - nowadays I use an AI writing assistant like Jasper.ai and edit it so it's already in text format. But back when this video was created I would speak directly into my phone or computer and then create the transcript which I would either copy and paste or download as a text or word document before uploading to BigVu to record. This method really only makes sense if you don't like writing and would rather record your script and have it transcribed for you before filming. Hopefully I haven't confused you any more. Feel free to email me at info@edieclarke.com if you need any more help.

Were you able to use an external microphone? If you use it on the app, please tell me how to use an external mic.
If you're using your phone an external mic would connect via the power port and on your computer via USB

seems to be few to no non-sponsored videos on this serrvice. Any idea why?
Because its an amazing product and if a creator gets paid in any manner we must disclose it to our audiences.
Thanks for the info - Can we download the video we did on BigVu directly only our iphone?
