You are great man.. I’m from India, Thiruvannamalai. The way you explain the spirit of Ramana Maharishi’s words, is amazing.. it’s like he is explaining it firsthand..
This mourning I was reflecting about the sense of doership and destiny. To see this video is like a confirmation that actually we are not the doer, everything just happens. The real doer is the universal doer and everything is made by it. Even what seems like our own will is just ilusion, everthing is universal will, the "good" as well as the "bad" things.
@Nihillllus Yes, there is no duality here neither. The universal doer is not something apart/different from me. It is just the movements of consciousness, which is the real I.
I am 55 years old. At the age of 20 I saw a circle on my wall roughly 3 feet in diameter and inside of it was a symbol which I knew was no known language I had ever seen. The symbol changed to a different symbol and made a thumping sound against my chest and the symbol changes again and again until it was changing so fast that it was a blur and the thumping was now a humming sound that engulfed me. I tried to stand up but I could only move my eyes. When it stopped I suddenly saw flocks of what birds as if they were very high up in the sky yet they flew very slowly inches from my eyes, as if they were someplace else far away but somehow I could see them. After that I saw many peaceful animals like deer laying down by my side looking at me, appearing and disappearing all around me. Again I tried to move and this time I was slowly able to stand but I could still see the animals but they began to fade. This experience and another where I played a video game and even though I only played maybe 3 times, one day I experience what I can only describe as spontaneous and instant perfect knowledge of the game. My hands seemed to move by themselves and the game appeared to be moving almost in slow motion. A crowd of people gathered around me because from their perspective I was moving very quickly and never making any mistakes and reaching levels in the game no one had seen, it was impossible from what they later told me. I felt uncomfortable with the attention and offered the game to someone I knew to be a very good player. He lost all 3 lives almost instantly. As I walked away there was a mirror, I looked at myself and noticed my ears were extremely red and then I noticed my pupils were large, larger than I had ever seen them, like huge black disks. I then looked at the people around me and I felt I knew everything about them. I know how strange this is but sometimes I just feel my entire life is not real, as if at any moment I will open my eyes and be in an entirely different reality, or that a hand can reach out of the sky and pull me away from this world. I just know it is an illusion because I have seen glimpses of things that just should not be, yet there they are. These are not the only things that have happened. Recently I have suffered from migraines, during one episode I was able to see my friend 400 miles away changing a tire. It was so strange that I texted him and asked him what he was doing. He told me he had a flat and was changing the tire.

This video has brought me clarity today as I was in confusion of what to think and what not to think everday. My heart also melts with this powerful explanation from you and from the great Ramana Maharishi. Thank you very much.
Thoughts or thinking are natural processes, when one become a meditator, bring self to the centre of one's being, allow to pass the thoughts without any judgements or fights, become a watcher of one self...Every second the thought process changes, sometimes our thoughts makes us what we are...hence oneness with God and meditation, helps us to reach ' beyond or transcendental ' state.

I believe this is a topic which is very easy to intelectualise and mislead ourselves with. To understand this topic from a different angle, think for example about a family member or a relationship. Have you never realised from a person you know well than when this person is put in a certain situation or environment you know that this person will eventually go down a certain rabbit hole although this person is not aware of it, or is even denying that he/she will end in this particular rabbit hole? That is what Ramana means. We have major behavioural tendencies and mental processes, these are governed by attachment/fear and ignorance of the absolute truths. Therefore, not only us but our environment (and in fact the whole universe) conspires for certain things to happen that will trigger mental processes and behavioural tendencies that will eventually take us down a certain rabbit hole. Why? Because the thirsty seeks to be satiated, the victim seeks more reasons to be a victim, the dominant and controller deeply seeks to be more submissive and so on. This person will be trapped in duality as one extreme of duality will never satiate permanently the other extreme because the person still have the same fears and ignorance. Also, in the same way that every time you have a thought you don’t allocate it to a different “you” but to you as a whole, the universe does the same thing. That’s why it conspires for certain things to happen because it doesn’t see you as an isolated “you”, here mental processes and behavioural tendencies will run its course on a major scale, seeking to alleviate (illusorily) and mask the very same fears and ignorance that create our suffering. R
"What will be, will be" cannot be the ultimate reality. We cannot leave all things to fate. This message here probably conveys to accept things the way they are and accept things for what they are.
Even if we start practicing that everything is destined, it might give us a temporary peace, but long term peace cannot happen. Because thought has a very profound effect on us and hence the "me" stays. As long as there is the "me", there will be no peace.

Hey man, love your content. Could you talk about Anatman (No-Self) teaching of Buddha which kinda contradicts the Indian Advaitha Vendatha teaching of Atman (Self)
Anatma or Sunya concept had been shredded by Adi Shankara and few others including Vidhranya Swamigyal in Panchadasi. Buddha as a prince would have learned Vedanta under Royal gurus of his time. He was very much influenced by Vedanta. In fact he was a strong Vedantic.
According to this statement, there is an ordainer and a plurality of souls, with only the latter being under the influence of karma. If that is so, the best course would be to love the ordainer-bhakti-and thus rise above karma and be one "in love" with the ordainer.
If whatever supposed-to-happen is only happening, then how prarabda karma gathered because no one is a doer, it is happening the way as it was planned by someone/somewhere else though we try or not to try! It also raises an unanswered question that even it is a criminal or saint, his activity is not creating any sin or virtue or prarabda karma for him, because he is not the doer as things are happening the way it is supposed to be, he was just used in it or in the plot! Is it not conflicting about prarabda karma gathered we have to face the results? (Hinduism believes in asking questions & learn, hence asking, pls share your wisdom with me. No other intention)
jeeva gathers the prarabdh karma and suffers or enjoys accordingly, we are not not the jeeva, jeeva is the reflected consciousness or chidchaya we are the Atman or pure consciousness
🙏Thank you for the beautiful explanation of Sri Ramana’s philosophy. How do we explain results as a consequence of someone’s bad actions? E.g. murder - is that the destiny of the victim or the consequence of actions due to a disconnect of athman (purity) and jiva(ego) of the perpetrator?
Predestined or cause and effect we’re living the effect of the cause that’s happened in another life. The pattern will prevail do as you may just ride the wave.
@@contemplatingwithamaster ah I see what you’re getting at but from the POV of the ultimate self as long as you possess an earthly body won’t you have to live life as in participate but with a detached mind ? That’s how I meant by just riding the waves knowing that you are the ocean.
Beautiful incisive narration. A minor correction - bhagwan did leave a short cryptic timeless note when leaving his house to go to Tiruvannamalai. Great take on language. I think this is what another great seer Jiddu Krishnamurthy was referring to when he said, "The word tree is not the tree", or to such effect. We get caught up with language - words, images etc. I'd come across in an article about some native Americans who could never correlate a picture of a tree and a tree! Maybe they perceive an actual tree in a totally different holistic way, and not just based on the visual representation.
Sucks because the more I live my days the more I lean towards advaita Vedanta 😮😅 I want it to be different and more but this makes the most sense to my human brain
Prarabdha Karmas act as a force field to push ur destiny in the present life. However, u can utilise this field by doing actions in ur favor .i.e. if prarabdha sis pushing u down the stream which will end up in some fall, u can avoid that by sailing towards the bank, u will not reach the bank immediately but at a later stage , resultant of sailing force and stream force , acting perpendicularly with each other ,will take u to the bank though not immediately but after some time, though not at desired location but at some other location. Prarabdh field is dominant and will have to happen , u can play in it and impress upon ur will to get minor modifications. It is my thinking, may be right or wrong.
Can one "THINK" without language??? Remaining silent(without language) may be if help in attaining "realization" ; note: here again I am using the word @realization @ to mean what you all know what is meant!!
If you say that you are self realised, obviously you are not. Self awareness is not an object that can be objectified as you the self are the subject itself . Anything that describes self is not the self.
The ego dissolved off of me about 18 months ago. I don't see it as an object. It's truth. You read too much into my post and I didn't clarify how I know that I experienced self realization. I have, just didn't feel like posting that whole experience. Take care
@@seane.9937 whatever you said and experienced was only in Awareness but not Awareness itself. Get it??? Realisation can’t be objectified. In any words or forms or in any format. Period.
How does one differentiate between acting from the atman and acting from the jiva? If my mind entertains the thought... 'I want a glass of water' How should I determine whether or not this is potentially an action from the atman or an action from the jiva?
@@vish2553 So when Jason says that there is a requirement to differentiate between 'atman motivation' and 'jiva motivation' he doesn't know what he's talking about. According to your comment the atman is never implicated with regard to the jiva's actions.
Semantics, my friend. We don't do the whole nondual competitiveness/police thing on my channel. It is for more serious people on the path based on the actual traditional wisdom. The use of language is not to be overanalyzed to be competitive, you need to actually listen and use your natural intuition about what is being said. Being overly analytical about each and every thing in language is a pitfall of the seeker.
what you said perfectly sums up as Neo advaita which is a global pandemic today. One needs a path to reach the highest state. Depending upon one’s level of consciousness the World and God exists. One can’t artificially claim or jump up to the highest level of consciousness through mental or theoretical acrobatics. because the world is seen, we have to infer a common cause-a Lord- possessing unlimited powers to appear as the diversity. The pictures consisting of names and forms, the seer, the canvas, the light - all these are he himself” Ramana Maharshi
Last week I lost my mother suddenly due to high BP. am unable to digest her demise do many sleepless night. It is possible to connect her spiritually.( I love u ma so much .For give me if I did anything wrong
I dont agree that everyone is binded into their destinies. I believe there's a beaten path (or destiny) that everyone takes by natural births, they can completely change it if they change their minds. Sadhguru talks about this aswell
Going to Sadhguru for spiritual answers is like going to McDonalds for a healthy meal. He is at best, an agony aunt. At worst, a depopulation supporter. Beware false prophets.
Hello Jason, I have a question: if there is only Consciousness and the sense of separation is an illusion how is it possible the existence of karma? To whom is karma applied if no one is there?
Great question, Alain. I have made videos on this very topic. Here is the first one ruclips.net/video/ehNkGJzSko4/видео.html and the second video ruclips.net/video/5uJMCjP0-hI/видео.html I'm sure I have other videos on this as well, but I'd have to dive back into the archives.
There is no illusion. It is IGNORANCE, Avidhya. Superimposition. The world is not unreal, it is RELATIVELY real, Mithya. Karma and karma phalans are in the realm of Mithya only.
@@vish2553 hello, yes, this is the teachings of the great masters. They talk about 3 levels of reality: pratibhasika, paramarthika and vyavaharika the transactional level. I didn't express myself well in the question: what seems strange to me is that a master like Ramana, considering his message, talks about karma and past lives....it's not coherent
@@Giulix7B “because the world is seen, we have to infer a common cause-a Lord- possessing unlimited powers to appear as the diversity. The pictures consisting of names and forms, the seer, the canvas, the light - all these are he himself” Ramana Maharshi Even though its true that Brahman alone exists, one needs a step by step approach to reach that level of consciousness. The problem is Neo advaitins dispense preliminaries like Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga and mock the Authentic Vedic scriptures calling them an illusion. You cannot get the recipe without all the ingredients. Neo advaitins artificially jump up to meditation by skipping karma and Bhakti yoga and claim themselves as self realized through theoretical knowledge or through consumption of psychedelic substances. That kind of realization temporary, unsatisfactory and suffering as it has an end. It is no way close to authentic self realization. Adi Shankara the founder of Authentic advaita never refused to read scriptures or neglect Duality or Bhakti Yoga (Visishtadvaita). He established temples was deeply involved in worship of the supreme Lord Guru Siva and Sakti.
In truth, in stillness, there is no movement of any sort. As the only movement that can occur in truth, in stillness, is away from the truth. And so must be a falsehood of some sort.

According to this statement, there is an ordainer and a plurality of souls, with only the latter being under the influence of karma. If that is so, the best course would be to love the ordainer-bhakti-and thus rise above karma and be one "in love" with the ordainer.
❤️🙏
Jason, just curious: How did you come to Ramana Maharishi? BTW, thank you for a very wonderful video. Om Namo Bhagavate sri Ramanaya !

Jason. What about UG Krishnamurtis insight?
If you would like to know more about Ramana Maharshi, please read paul brunton’s,’A search in secret India’.
Until you learn to make the wave 😀.
@@contemplatingwithamaster ah I see what you’re getting at but from the POV of the ultimate self as long as you possess an earthly body won’t you have to live life as in participate but with a detached mind ? That’s how I meant by just riding the waves knowing that you are the ocean.
@@contemplatingwithamaster ..who do you think made the wave?
Agreed. Play your role, do your duty. Whatever purpose you have attack it and mix in some spirituality with. Ultimate balance like the Buddha
Pure Ecstasy 🔥🙏🌺🇮🇳
Beautiful incisive narration. A minor correction - bhagwan did leave a short cryptic timeless note when leaving his house to go to Tiruvannamalai.
Great take on language. I think this is what another great seer Jiddu Krishnamurthy was referring to when he said, "The word tree is not the tree", or to such effect. We get caught up with language - words, images etc. I'd come across in an article about some native Americans who could never correlate a picture of a tree and a tree! Maybe they perceive an actual tree in a totally different holistic way, and not just based on the visual representation.
The map is NOT the territory!
What will be Will Be. Whether one participates or not. Then there CANNOT be accumulation of any type of Karma let alone prarabdha Karna.
God bless you brother. I'm a self realized deconstructed christian and truly appreciate your effort for us. Is this part of your dharma?
If you say that you are self realised, obviously you are not. Self awareness is not an object that can be objectified as you the self are the subject itself . Anything that describes self is not the self.
The ego dissolved off of me about 18 months ago. I don't see it as an object. It's truth. You read too much into my post and I didn't clarify how I know that I experienced self realization. I have, just didn't feel like posting that whole experience. Take care
@@seane.9937 whatever you said and experienced was only in Awareness but not Awareness itself. Get it??? Realisation can’t be objectified. In any words or forms or in any format. Period.
@@vish2553 it's a pointer used for an experience.
@@seane.9937 experience can’t be conscious awareness. Consciousness plus object equals experience.
How does one differentiate between acting from the atman and acting from the jiva?
If my mind entertains the thought... 'I want a glass of water'
How should I determine whether or not this is potentially an action from the atman or an action from the jiva?
Atman is only a witness consciousness. No likes or dislikes. Satchi Saitynya. Witnesses consciousness.
@@vish2553 So when Jason says that there is a requirement to differentiate between 'atman motivation' and 'jiva motivation' he doesn't know what he's talking about.
According to your comment the atman is never implicated with regard to the jiva's actions.
one is the atman. one does not abide in it.

Your mother will bless you and guide you just pray 🙏
*Correction: his dad was already passed by then and he was living with his uncle.

Even though its true that Brahman alone exists, one needs a step by step approach to reach that level of consciousness.
