I am so thankful to Shelby for this moving song. It has helped me cope with a lot of hard times, and this live version with Daryl is nothing short of carthartic. One of Shelby's best piece of work, if not the best. Dreamsome is also really lovely
I love how Shelby said that they ‘hopefully just get better at it’ - that continual striving as an artist is a wonderful thing for us to behold. Also, “we’re all trying to say I love you in a new kind of way” seems to encapsulate LFDH perfectly.
I bought her CD back around 2000. I cannot recall why . It may have even been a Columbia House Records recommendation lol. I was blown away. I was into female singers at the time like Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, and Tori Amos so maybe that's why it came up. This performance is off the chain emotional.
