Brother, I know that brown t-shirt from anywhere. You must be living good cause that's a healthy stache. Nice build can't wait to have the time and means to do mine.

Thanks dude! I don't have much time right now either. I'm just squeezing it in where I can. 🤓

I always cut the spring perches off, tilt my axle to right angle, then weld them back on

I'm with you there! I guess my concern is the angle of spring/perch on the axle, once the pinion is set to the correct degree

@@FortuneOffRoadthe beauty about working with metal is, if it doesn’t work, cut it off and try again

Yeah, I would agree with you. You just set the pinion angle correct underload and then weld the purchase on with the weight of the vehicle on it.

When I welded my perches on, I set the jeep on the tires with the perches on and u bolts holding it all together. Put the driveshaft in and rotate the axle until the pinion angle is correct. Tack the perches on, pull the axle out, and burn the perches in on the bench.

Stoked you are trying to keep the Zuki look. So easy to just start chopping body when building these.

Yeah, me too. Eventually it will be a tube buggy with a Samurai hood, or maybe I can sell the body/frame and put the guts in a tube chassis.

Just curious is budget the reason you didnt go coilover?

Mostly budget and I want to experiment with the wheelbase before commiting to a linked setup. I already had most of the parts for leaf springs, too
