    As a black man I do seek therapy because I have had anger issues, unheralded trauma and depression and it’s ok to get help. It’s too many people that look like me doing whatever to supress the pain. Killing our own, Doing shady things, Broken Homes, Satying Locked Up the list goes on. We have to get the minds right because everything will fall into place. S/O DWC y’all doing it big 💯 salute!

    I most definitely think our community has a mental health crisis. I remember in the '90s if you stepped on somebody's shoe! They would kill you literally. It shows how we don't value our lives the shoes are worth more. We tend to see each other as obstacles in our community I call it the (Mandingo) effect, if you ever seen that movie.

    I'll say this-a part of the reason why a lot of us struggle so much in relationships is because of the "idgaf who hurt you" mentality that far too many of us have. As much as we don't, we should. Both men and women should. Lord, have mercy. Apathy is gonna be the death of intimacy for a lot of folks out here.

    Mental health is not stressed enough in the black community. A lot of our issues with a multitude of things come from not knowing ourselves and understanding what makes us happy. I would encourage all black people and all humans to take time to discover yourselves. What makes you happy? What do you enjoy doing that is inexpensive or free? What do you think you deserve out of life? Also, try getting away from rap (most of it). I listen to Jazz everyday and it really balances me out. I love "Down to the Bone", Jerk and several others. De-stress your lives and find time to just be alone, let your thoughts wonder, pray (if you believe) and meditate on yourselves. You'd be surprised how much better you'll feel.

    We have to be honest, some not all Black women look at themselves as a separate entity outside of the Black community. That interview with Ice Cube and the shade room prove that much

  • @cbiggful

    I love conversations like this. When I was in the Marines I had my group of guys that look like me and we could just talk. We held each other accountable and understood the hardships that we have to face. It was a healthy environment Every since we all went our separate ways (going back home), I have a lot of anger stored inside with no outlets. It is a struggle to find a safe space, especially one where those around you look similar to you. Conversations like this reminds me that I am not alone in my way of thinking and it is okay to reach out for help.

    please talk about this: Women get into relationships with toxic men and complain men are toxic or abusive. Any normal human can sniff behaviours of a person, why won't women do that or are women attracted to abuse? If so, is the high incarceration rate for black men connected with hyper masculine archetype that black women require in a man?

      @madant22 2 года назад +4

      @@akshy471 me too. No pun intended. lol I can tell a amber heard type chick from a mile away. I keep telling people especially women. Go off someone’s lasting impression on how you last left them or last left you. Don’t go off of 1st impressions. 1st impressions doesn’t tell you much or anything about a person. But you right some behaviors you can see from a mile away. Some are more covert with it. They like Chameleon style type woman. You can’t easily tell. But over time you’ll see the red flags 🚩 right then and there but turn a blind eye or ask about it.

    • @arthurhaywood2184
      @arthurhaywood2184 2 года назад +1

      That’s because a lot of women think that they can “fix” a man. Even when there’s nothing wrong with the man, they’re always looking for something to fix. What’s really fascinating is that they don’t mind negative or toxic traits as long as it’s not directed at or affects them! An alpha male with flaws is always the preference.
      An interesting topic would be, “Why is it that the thing that a woman will find attractive about a man is the first thing that she’ll eventually complain about?” If she’s attracted to your body, she’ll wind up complaining about you going to the gym. If she likes that you have a good job & you’re career oriented, she’ll complain about you spending too much time at work. You get where I’m going….. Anything that takes the primary focus away from her will become an issue no matter what it is!

    I think when it comes to picking a therapist you shouldn’t need to pick a therapist of the same race. I think a good therapist should be able to give you enlightenment from the perspective of a human and how we respond to things. If you have to pick someone of the same race because you need “a nurturing woman” to speak to you may want to ask yourself if I’m doing that because I didn’t get that as a child? Everything starts as a child.. btw I’m a black male who goes to therapy.

      @@DailyRapUpCrew honestly, a Black woman is not going to understand a Black man’s struggle within the community. Plus he’s going to want to be strong in front of her instead of letting go.
      I talk to my husband every single day after work but I know what he’s going through with doing tires because I used to do that same exact job. It’s actually how we met. I could relate to him about the Army because I was already a Disabled Army Veteran when we met. Now when it comes to Black men issues, I have to fall back because I don’t know the struggles of a Black man so he speaks to someone else.
      My husband and I can’t discuss my mom’s death because he still has both of his parents. My husband doesn’t know how to handle my mental breakdowns. I have to talk to someone else who can empathize with me.
      We definitely clash when it comes to American issues because I only know about Panamanian issues. It’s an ongoing battle in my household. I code switch so he forgets I have no idea what’s going on or why people feel the way they feel here in the states. I just found out that feminism wasn’t a lesbian thing in November. My husband had to explain it to me. It wasn’t an issue in my household growing up. My mom was a stay at home wife/mom. She cooked, cleaned and so forth and my dad went to work and paid the household bills. It was definitely a huge culture clash when we got married.

    It depends what circles you mix in eg if you go to ragga and gangsta rap places your going to buck up with rude scary aggressive violent highly strung thugs and scary women . It also depends on where you live. Racism isolation and hostilty can also wear you down. The luckiest carribean people are the ones that live comfortably in the carribean. I feel so sorry for the nice decent people isolated with no hope living in the wests racist jungle.

    Stop worrying about how cool you look to other men. If you want spaces for black men to express themselves and heal create them! We black women weren't give ish, we built what we have. These investments into black women's education, grants, business loans and scholarship is because we are putting ourselves forward going for what we want and pursuing them. What's stopping black men from applying for grants for black people? Nothing. No one owe you anything, you owe yourself.

    • @queenbae6396
      @queenbae6396 2 года назад +1

      @@moneyman8777 Do you know why they've done that? It's because black women are the fastest growing entrepreneurs it makes sense why Gold Sachs are investing 10B to the fastest emerging entrepreneurs in the community. Have you read how this has come about there have been "black women led organizations" that have been working to get this funding. Why aren't black men creating organizations to push for their betterment?

    • @quiksc0pe139
      @quiksc0pe139 2 года назад

      @@moneyman8777 womanhood depends on the security and reliability of the manhood. For the ennemies of the black community it is important for them to invest as much as possible in the black motherhood to render the counterpart obsolete. They would need to deplete the black man’s reliability to ashes. It’s another form of forcibly taking a child away from her (to make her dependent upon the kidnapper) but this time, taking her mate away from her remotely from her own self (kidnapping her own child from her mates). They would indefinitely have to keep black women in a state of survival by giving resources to her rather than the man. Never let the man fulfill his role in the family unit make her expel him from the future of the entirety of the black race’s family/parent-hood structure. Black women are stuck in a frozen state of survival, they would have to be warmed to achieve natural femininity, in this case, the cold breeze that keeps her frozen is money. Just like in all scripture, the key to controlling the chaos of all human structures, is it’s creators (the women). Control the creator, control the fate
      “Fastest way to get someone to do something for you, is to make them believe they came up with the idea themselves”. Always a puppet behind another puppet. Black women have been and are pawns. It’s not “because” they’re women, it’s because they posses the womb of the black human, it’s the home/temple/life garden of the black human. Access it, attach some strings and you become the puppet master of all black living things. The key is to make the black woman’s womb soil, a garden in which crops don’t grow, roots perish.
