The fact that Draymond had an idea how many dribbles per possession Harden would have tells you how much preparation goes into game planning.

It’s not some deep stat, even Charles Barkley made fun of this regarding Harden, who does know more than most but admittedly doesn’t watch the sport that closely, metrics wise. I don’t think the game plan was to be down 15 to 20 points every game, lol.

@@jagdeepsingh723 Chuck knows his basketball. And I think the Warriors knew the game/series was a marathon vs a 40 yard dash.
Eventually Harden was going to wear out. I remember everyone criticizing Harden for not showing up in crunch time, during those series. It's hard to show up when your legs have no more to give.

How do I get to heaven? Will my good deeds be measured against my bad deeds? Do I need to be a good person to go to heaven? How do I know if I'm good enough?
Well the bible says no man is good, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So how do we get to heaven? Answer: By believing on Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sin on the cross. There are no amount of good works we can do to achieve salvation because salvation is a free gift of God. We need to humble ourselves, realize we are sinners and that we need a savior.
      John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It’s so interesting hearing the behind the scenes on these games. When you watch the warriors, you see the shooting. You see steph and clay making 60 3-pointers a game. But this team was on another level as a team together. The strategy involved and the dog mentality, iam even more impressed with the warriors than previously. And Draymond is an interesting story teller and good broadcaster as well as a defensive beast and the heart of the warriors.

And yet some of the recent Chip teams that weren't the Wariors (Raps, Lakers, Bucks) all have multiple guys who can handle the ball so it gives their elite player a breather and have high impact roles on other parts of the game. AD clamping on Jimmy Buckets was one of the best defensive jobs in the playoffs in a while. Giannis getting a legit second option in Jrue Holiday so Middleton can be the best third option opened things up for the Bucks and Giannis' game. @@bsimmonds1733 that can be argued. But its not like the Raps then didn't have the ideal lineup to go after the Warriors. Kawhi was a closer and Nurse had a small ball lineup ready if he needed to take out Gasol. Fatigue is the unavoidable weakness of any heliocentric offense, and it can cost a team everything. The more fatigued a player becomes, the less effective they are on both ends, and the greater the risk of injury. This is why Denver and the Lakers try to keep Jokic and LeBron respectively under forty minutes on the floor without their co-stars, even if another three or four minutes might bring them a win. Harden is struggling in Brooklyn now for much the same reason he struggled in those playoff series.
This would show up in analysis, it could be modeled, but analytics is limited by the questions asked, and the success of the metrics you do measure tends to blind you to the possibility of the metrics you don't.

On paper the rockets had no where near the amount of talent the warriors did Harden is great and CP3 is great but they aren’t Steph and KD and on top of that the warriors had Klay and dray. But they surrounded their stars with versatile defenders hustlers and 3 point shooters and they relied on the 3’s to beat the warriors it was the only way anyone was gonna beat that team if the Cavs built their team the same way the rockets did around Lebron and kyrie they would have done much better than losing in 5. The story would be told much different if the rockets just could have went 4 or 5 for 27 from 3 instead of 0/27

What CP3 will never get is that the Warriors since 2015 are the ONLY team that can play switching Defense and beat it . The 2018 and 2019 Rockets couldn't do both at the level of the Warriors . The Rockets 3 point shooters wilted under the pressure in 2018 against the Splash Bros / KD , and 2019 against the Splash Bros in the Playoffs . D'antoni as Rockets Head Coach made the mistake of using short benches of 8 players too much , and exhausted those Rockets players . One of tbe big reasons CP3 got injured in the 2018 Playoffs . Kerr beat the Rockets with 10 or 12 players deep , so his team was fresher in those 7 game series .
