Loved this!!! Life seemed so much more full of hope and energy in people back then!
Not one stupid phone zombie
Simple, mundane people watching. This footage will be invaluable to future historians. So important that it's preserved.
I guess Im quite off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Alden Brennan Lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Kole Terrell Definitely, been using flixzone for since march myself :D
@Kole Terrell Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it !
@Alden Brennan You are welcome :D
Went to Santa Monica pier a few months ago. It was surreal to see families having fun right next to homeless people getting high, literally feet away. Craziness!!
🤣
We look like idiots today compared to normal people... great video
I could of easily been in this video..80' was the the year i hung out Santa Monica/Venice Miss the trucks and vans lined up next to the walk blasting Halen/Zeppelin etc. Was such a big party especially on the weekends..Now nothing like that going on
Before immigration got bad. And people were much thinner
Immigrants were already there. California and New York. Difference was that they integrated well in those days.
@@user-or6yn8pm3c CA was 70% white. Today is not
@@user-or6yn8pm3c very few. You had to drive to specific neighborhoods to hear foreign languages. This was before the Amnesty of 86 which started the flood.
immigration got bad in 1492 when columbus came to the americas.
The glory days, when rock ruled the airwaves, the beaches were full of hot blondes, and rap and hip hop culture never existed.
Hip hop culture actually was on and popping when this was filmed. Mad no one listens to dusty old "rock" anymore. True def of trashy music
people looked so much thinner then.
0:18 , 2:00 😨
Yeah, this was before obesity rates skyrocketed in the U.S.
@@nikkijackson2981 the guy at 2:00 wouldnt even be considered fat today. Normal on the chubby side.
@@sirosis7858 Are you kidding? With that super fat gut??? Still massively obese. A walking heart attack !
@@sirosis7858 0:24 is chubby chubster
Notice anything about the crowds compared to SoCal today? I'm surprised this clip was even released on youtube, it brings up a taboo subject.
Lilo usage? Perms? Smoking? Graffiti? Old chubber jogging?......
@@nikkijackson2981 Go visit that area today and walk around. See for yourself.
Before all of the Mexicans started pouring across the border
Pretty sure the 80s is the peak time for immigration
Those old people probably dead and gone now .🪦
I love the comments going "people looked so much thinner/energetic". I just came from Santa Monica Beach and it looks more energetic than in these clips. And people are still thin. It's upper middle class Cali.

Before all of LA became a gentrified trash heap.
Gentrified implies over development by upper middle class.
La is covered in homeless.
