I love this cleaner. Saves me so much time. However be really careful with the screen, mine tore in 2 places within the first few uses and Intex never has the debris net in stock. Havent been able to find a replacement.
That’s awesome I’m glad it’s working great for you
@@LifeLessOrdinary does this work at getting the bacteria out of the pool.
No not really this type of vac is more for debris unfortunately
Thx for the video. My sister in law gave me one of these vaccums but she didn't know where the adapter was. So in order to try and find one, I needed to know what it looked like. Thanks, u r the only video that showed a good view of what the adapter looked like .
Your very welcome
Thank you so much for this video! We could not figure out where to attach it to as the directions were a bit confusing. We watched your video and it is working!!
Oh that’s awesome, that’s exactly why I made the video glad it helped
I just obtained one of these last year and also the saltwater and sand filter system. I have trees over the pool and this system is cheap to start up and maintain. Great job with the video too brother.
I really appreciate that comment. Great job on your upgrades it will definitely pay off in the long run
Great product, easy to clean -worked out great !
Thanks for the great info! I had one for almost 2 years now and had no idea how to make it work, smh.
I've tried many intex cleaners but the one I've found most useful for my rectangular prism 10x5m pool is the zodiac mx9 it's more expensive but climbs the wall and picks up everything except sticks and twigs
Just ordered one on line. I have the 2800gph filter. Hope it works as good as they say.
Should work good with that pump size
Life Less Ordinary
Thanks for the input
Nice job reviewing this. The fact that you could do that one-handed while you filmed is very telling! Nice clean pool for the family. 👍🏻
ms avp thank you so much, I love doing reviews and enjoy learning from other channels reviews
Life Less Ordinary what Pump are you Tuning ?
We bought this last year and it was a game-changer! It made the pool SO much cleaner. This year however it seems to just sit on the pool floor and not travel. I know there was a leak in the hose- I could see it. I bought a new hose-and the same thing. I think it is too long. I am going to try and cut it and see if that helps. Any other ideas? I am using the same pump/filter, the pool is 2 ft bigger but still only 18 ft. It doesn't have a "motor" so I don't know what else could be wrong.
Does your hose have the swivels in it or is it just one long hose?
And what kind of filter do you have?
Funny i had the pool blaster b4 definitely was great for my 18 but it died...we got a 22 last yr and ended up getting the newer version of the vac u have now over the winter... The 1st time i used it it was great the 2nd 3rd and 4th time this joint acting funny on us 😮💨. Had me going back to old methods.. hopefully i figure out what went wrong... Great video.
I loved my pool blaster, it got me through the first 2 years of having a pool. 👍
I bought this unit for my Coleman/Bestway 22 foot pool and it did work with my pool/pump, however it would stop about every 30 seconds. I would have to take it out and clean the filter because it would get clogged and the unit would stop. I cleaned the filter then it would run again. I like the vacuum, but if I kept it I really don't want to clean it every 5 minutes.
Hmmm sounds like a pump problem, I always do a backwash before starting the vac.
After I upgraded our pump a few years ago ours didn’t run right afterwards. I might get another one and give it another try . My lil shark is a suction vacuum and barely moves.
Luckily I’ve had good luck with mine, hope you get it figured out 👍
Wow! I had exactly the pool blaster for few years and it really cleaned my pool but I’m just tired and I’m getting this one automatic. Thank you so so much. Also my pool is 16x48 it should work good?
Yes it will work just fine. And I love my pool blaster also but I agree it just slow going lol
Thanks, I've bought this exact one 3 years ago, my husband thought it was to much hassle putting the hoses together, actually it was confusing.. so we put it back in the box. I still have it. My water tech vaccum battery powered used to work great for sand, but it's not doing the job like it did, so after watching your video, im tempted to get mine out of storage and hook it up, I have a 12'x 24' 52' deep intex pool, under trees, so I need alittle help. Thanks for your video
Mine is OK with sand it will miss a lot seems to get bigger debris much easier
Thanks for the review! Can you run this overnight while the timer on your pump is running?
Yes that’s normally when I run mine
What did you have your pump set on while using it filter or recirculating
Filter 👍
Can you provide a link to the specific holes you used to make it longer and reach inside the whole pool? Thank you
This kit that I bought came with the 24 foot hose I didn’t have to buy anything extra
Thank you so much for the review! Was on the fence about it. Very helpful! Quick question, what setting should the filter pump be on? Filter or backwash?
Keep it on filter just like you normally would to run your pool. I’m getting everything set up this weekend to get the pool going again myself
Watch out if you're buying it this year! They sell them with one long 24ft hose now ... and they DO get tangled up, really badly.
Thanks man, really help me a bunch.
Awesome good luck with it
When you stop this, do you pull it out of the water or turn the pump off first? Does it matter? Wondering which way lets the least amount back into the pool, or if it matters. Thanks for the video!
I turn the pump off then I pull it out keeping it upright.
How often do you take it out of the pool?
Is it okay to leave it inside the pool overnight/during the day whenever the pump is off?
Yes I leave it in overnight sometimes no big deal
What mode do you use when u put it in the water? “Filter” , “recirculate” or “waste” ??
Just leave it on normal filter, it needs the pump pressure to push the vacuum
Don you keep it on filter mode on the sand filter? And hook it up to the blower part of the pool?
Make sure your no more than inch off level or it will stall and clean the flapper inside if one side stops working
Did you have to upgrade your outlet from 1.25 to 1.5 plunger valve? I have a 15x48 Intex ultra frame which came with 1.25 intakes and outlet. I don't think this would work on the 1.25 outlet.
Great question Ray I’m pretty sure mine are also 1.25 should work
Life Less Ordinary awesome! Thank you sir.
I just got one of these on ebay but its missing the adapter piece that goes into the return valve. Do you happen to know what type of adapter I need to get for this?
Then I could find it on Amazon real quick hold on
Intex Wall Fitting Hose Adapter 11239 www.amazon.com/dp/B00LCJ946O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZACSAXKH94M59R4ENHP1
We just an 18 ft pool and was considering this vacuum after your review i will be purchasing. Question, how is your pool so blue? We just set ours up and ours is still slightly green. We have our chlorine tab floating and pump running too.
We just bought this ,but it won't fit the the connections on our pool!! Been to a pool store and a plumbing supply store and can't find some thing that could be adapted to the outlet on the pool. Any suggestions????
What kind of pool do you have
Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
I bought an 18x9 x52 and the water pump is 1200 gallons? can i buy this vacumm. thanks for your cooperation.
Yes it will work with that pump 👍
@@LifeLessOrdinary thank you , for you help .🙏🏼
I have a 12 foot x 4 pool but I did upgrade to stronger sand filter. You think this will work in my small pool?
Hose might be a little long but as long as you have a strong Sand filter yes it should be fine.
@@LifeLessOrdinary appreciate the quick reply. I was thinking the hose too long. i see it is in parts, can't i just remove a section?
Yes if you have the one with the swivel pieces just put less pieces some people get the ones with one long hose in it. Let me know how it works
@@LifeLessOrdinary appreciate the info
You helped a lot thank you.
Awesome I’m glad this helped
How does it work with the A being connected to the return instead of the suction ?
Basically this works by water pushing not sucking. The force of the water creates a suction that collects debris in the screen filter of the vacuum.
Great video thank you!!
Looks good
My vacuum came with a 25' hose didn't have to puzzle piece it together and the adapter for outlet side.
Is your hose one long piece or is it small swivel pieces
@@LifeLessOrdinary 1 piece but it was an 1 1/4" line.
Hmmm I’ve never seen one like that, let me know if it works ok for you 👍🏻
@@LifeLessOrdinary it works good so far I was concerned with tangling but the vacuum has that swivel attachment works good so far. Have a good summer.
You too 👍🏻
What setting is your pump on, the multi-valve, what do you put it on?
The regular filet position
I’ve have the 10 in sand filter. 1200 flow. Will this work. The hose leaks water??
It should work and yes if you have the swivel hose it will leak mine does also
All the hoses leak . My vacuum says 1600-4000 gph. My sand filter max flow rate is 1020. Is this pump strong enough?
Maybe 10” isn’t strong enough mine is a 16” it moves it just fine.
Very informative video and yes I had to that thing really sucks lol
Thank you!!!!
Quick question approximately how much did you pay for the vacuum?
I want to say I paid about $129 I’m having a hard time remembering
What did you run it under filter mode? And also is all B’s connected together as well at the C’ s or it has to be B, C, B,C?
Yes run it under filter mode and from the outlet it’s A, B, C, B, C and so on
Life Less Ordinary thank you it’s working great now, I had connected them wrong
Hi - my 3m x 1.25 m hose that comes with it has perished. I can only get 1.5 m x 1.25 mm replacements. Is there a way of combining two hoses?
Can I use this on a above ground pool that is not an intex?
That’s a great question, I’m not sure. Try google, type in your pool and see if it works
Is it possible to use with Summer Waves pool?
Yep they pretty much all have the same connections 👍
Did that swivel hose come with the vacuum or is that custom made? We have this vacuum but came with standard vacuum hose and always gets tangled. Vacuum works great until it gets tangled. We can not find this swivel hose anywhere. HELP
THANK YOU
Yes when I bought mine it came with a swivel hose not sure why they changed it.
What is your current pump settings?
My intex cleaner for some reason stops for about 30-40 seconds before it starts moving again. I think it has to do with the water outflow pressure.
It stays on filter setting, I always make sure to backwash first so the pump is strong, yes it will stop for a few seconds when turning
Great video, thanks for sharing
+The Furrminator thank you Jeff
I just got the 32' x 16' intex rectangular ultra frame pool. I know this said it only works on pools 24' and less. Do you know if there is an option to get this to cover a 32'? Extra hose?
I’m not 100% sure it if would work well for that size pool. You might want to contact intex
What did you put your filter pump setting on?
On filter, it works by force of water
@@LifeLessOrdinary mine just sits at the bottom with the dirt. Moves 12” when put in then sits
Sounds like your pump is not pushing enough pressure or it’s not flushing through the vacuum properly. How old is your vacuum?
@@LifeLessOrdinary few days just got it.
What type of filter pump are you using
I have a question about connection pipe from vacuum to plug of filtrs pomp. I use bestway pomp. Do you think both staff will match well to each other? Do you recommend a special conmection to buy as well.
I’m not sure if it matches a best way pump you might want to call best way just to be sure.
I have a 16x42 Intex Quik Set above ground pool. All the videos I have watched on this pool cleaner is for the Intex hardside pools. Will this work to clean mine since it is a soft side? Thanks!
First question I would ask is what kind of filter are you using ?
Life Less Ordinary I have an Intex Sand Filter system
I don’t see why you can’t use it, the biggest thing is having a strong pump which sounds like you have 👍🏻
I can’t get mine to move, I get flow to the vacuum but I guess it’s not enough to push it.. it’s an intex sand filter 1200gph.
Is it a new vacuum? Are you sure your getting full power to your pool return?
@@LifeLessOrdinary it is, and could I not just switch my pump to the recirculate function so I get more outlet pressure?
Just while vacuuming...
You can definitely give that a try it won’t hurt anything, That just bypasses the sand basically. If that doesn’t seem to work there might be a problem with the vacuum itself. Deep inside there’s a little flapper that moves back-and-forth that’s what allows the water to flow through and push it.
I can hear air sucking thru the hose connections. Did/does yours?
Yes mine does that also but seems to pick up just fine
I have the same pump I think I wanted to buy this pump but I think my holes are only 1.25 and I dont wanna cut the pool do you know what size it is?
What do you mean cut the pool?
I was watching a different video thinking it was this channel this guy cut his holes bigger to fit the piece in.
Oh ok 👍🏻
can you also use the pool vacuum with a filter of lower capacity ? (4.500 liter/hour)?
I just got mine today Well the hoses look different just one long one great but it won’t connect to my inside pool I have a old school pump is this why help
Can you email me a picture of your return connection to me. So I can see what you are dealing with. Dirtpooroutdoors16@gmail.com
Very good review! My Intex pool is only 10’x30” w/1,185 gallons. Do you know if they make a smaller bottom cleaner?
Edit: NM, just saw the Catfish vacuum you were using before. I’ll probably buy that one 👍🏻
The catfish is amazing 👍🏻
I just bought the Intex maintenance kit that comes with a little vacuum similar to the one you had , there's no instructions on how you connect it lol and I'm all new to this , are all vacuumed suppose to go through the return ?
No not all vacuums, depending on the style some use a garden hose, some the inlets and some the return
How long should I run it before disconnecting?
I like to run mine for about 3 hours but depending on how much debris you have it might take longer
what is the name of that hose attachment not to be twisted
How well would this vaccum work on cleaning up dead algae that has settled on the bottom? I was wondering if the algae would be to fine and just go straight through the screen and back into the pool.
Honestly not very good it’s a lot better for bigger debris and some sand
Thank you
@@LifeLessOrdinary how well did the catfish work on algae?
The catfish is awesome, works on algae and sand very well
WHERE DO YOU GET THE HOSE LIKE THE ONE IN THE VIDEO?
I think they all have them now as long as it was made in the last year or so. I bought mine last year and had the swivel poses but I’ve talk to a lot of people that have this to straight long hose. I think the long hoses were made before last year
Nice video. How much was the vacuum
Jackson Vang I got a pretty good deal I believe mine was $65
@@LifeLessOrdinary thx!
What pump did you upgrade to? Also what skimmer?...any other upgrades?
I use the 12” sand filter it’s awesome, my skimmer is the floating deluxe wall mount, I don’t care for it to much but it works. I think next year I’m going to install a outside skimmer
Can you provide a link to the sand filter and pump you bought?
Absolutely Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 12-inch, 110-120V with GFCI www.amazon.com/dp/B07F3RXVBC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_T9yuDbYJ9Q8C6
as per DPO Family Vlog Id personally buy the high power verison of the intex pump set. I found that a small leak of air can make a big difference to suction and a bigger filter needs less backwashing, I currently backwash mine about once a week but if I want best performance from MX9 and thorugh the wall skimmer in conjunction then I need to backwash ev ery 2 or 3 days but it depends on debris etc etc
Gavin Preston link?
I see you have the skimmer too. Did you plug the other inlet to stop it from sucking to run the skimmer?
No my pump is really strong I don’t plug the second intake
Mine keeps popping out of the wall. I have a pump 2500 gph but i dont know why it just spits the attachment out. I wont stay connected. I dont know what im doing wrong. Im so frustrated
Hmmmmm must have something to do with the connection, that’s very odd for it to pop out
I tried using teflon tape to keep the adapter from bursting out of the wall outlet but it shredded the teflon tape and keep just busting it out. I changed to another of the same adapter but it does the exact same thing. There's no troubleshooting online that mentions this issue. Im so disappointed
Yeah this is the first I’ve ever heard of something like that happening. You should try contacting the company.
@@LifeLessOrdinary yes that's what im gonna to do because Ive tried everything else. Thank you for your suggestions n video. ❤
Why does it seem to just blow all the dirt around instead of picking it up. It just stirs it all back up again.
This unit is more for picking up debris, yes it will tend to move dirt because of the water pressure coming out. I have a small vacuum I use for getting out sand and dirt. It’s called a catfish pool blaster small cordless vac it’s awesome.
Same thing happens with mine
My Intex sand pump runs 1200 gph would the this auto cleaner work with my pump
For everyone complaining about the hose tangling, it LITERALLY tells you to trim your house during the installation process.
Here’s your sign.
Lucky I didn’t have to deal with that on mine, mine is the swivel hose
It still loops over itself and prevents it from reaching the wall. Trimmed it just like instructions said.
What kind of filter do you have? I know it’s a sand filter but what brand?
Do you need to backwash after you vacuum the pool?
I like to backwash before I vacuum that way I get maximum pressure out of the pump I don’t normally backwash afterwards.
Was wondering what skimmer you use? Thank you
ruclips.net/video/Dd5lfIC4SUY/видео.html
I also bought one intex vacuum. Water flows out between parts B and C. Is that normal?
Yes it’s normal mine does same thing
@@LifeLessOrdinary Thanks for your fast reaction. Regards from Belgium
You are very welcome
what is the model number on this one
I put a link in the description
I don’t get good pressure we upgraded to a better filter but it runs into the wall and stops. I think the connection between the hoses is bad if I move it around it works but that kinda defeats the purpose
What kind of filter are you running
Life Less Ordinary Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 12-inch, 110-120V with GFCI
Hmmmm it’s he’s to say, with mine I make sure to backwash before I use the vacuum to give it the most power. Is your hose one long piece or separate swivel pieces
Life Less Ordinary separate swivel pieces. But water will spray from some of the connections. I’m sure that’s making it lose pressure
Mine does that too but still moves just fine, it’s hard to say
3:31 your lucky mine stopped working after a week and I did everything right
jason persaud oh your talking about the catfish? That sucks I’ve had great luck with mine
Does the filter stay on the "filter" option while vacuuming?
I think I an confused as to how the water pushed out yet the vacuum sucks in...🤔
kim breckennridge wondering the same thing
Yes keep the pump on filter setting, it uses the water pressure to push dirt into the vacuum filter.
Yes on filter or on recirculate is fine. It uses "Venturi effect" to suck in dirt.
Catchme Ifyoucan i caught you.... lol venturi Effect i was able to guess that while assessing video n previous vacuum hacks always a critical thinker but never have i come across so much analysis until now i bought a pool for kids n have been playing pool boy for weeks now n i tell you i have done well with just reversing technology thanks for uour comment i appreciate it.
Can this run on 1500 gph
I have one they are wonderful
What kind of pool pump do u use?
I have a intex sand filter I love it
Life Less Ordinary ok so I have the same exact vacuum but mine doesn’t move at all when I put it in if it does it goes very slow is is cause I only have a pump that is pushing 1000 gph?
Is yours a sand filter or a cartridge filter
Life Less Ordinary well it’s not a sand filter it just the basic intex pool pump that came with the pool bought it at Walmart 15ft
Yeah then sounds like you have a cartridge pump in those are not strong enough to push this vacuum, unfortunately
Please help. I can not get the strainer cap off now that I have water over it. In order to screw the adapter on. Any suggestions ??
Do you mean the return jet cover?
Life Less Ordinary I think so. The cover you showed taking off in the video before attaching the vac adapter. I got it off the other day when the water was not above it but now I can’t get it off !!!!
Yeah that’s the return coming from the filter, mine was really hard the first time I took it off also. I’ve seen some people grip it with some type of rubber but unfortunately it’s just going to take force.
Life Less Ordinary do you think it might be easier to grip it from inside the pool ? I did get the entire strainer out ( with lots of gushing water!! ). But still could not unscrew the cover
I wish I was able to be more help, it will come off just need someone really strong 💪
will this work with the originial pump that came with the pool
My pool came with a sand filter so yes it works with mine, but if yours came with a filter pump I don’t think it will be strong enough
coul
I have just one 8 M long white hose, enough for 6.1 M pool.
Why does my vacuum rise up when it takesoff
Air in line possibly?
???? We bought the same model # for a 22’ diameter INTEX pool...
Hose was 1 continuous piece and too short.
Called INTEX, asked for the longer SEGMENTED SWIVEL HOSE...they sent a longer ONE PIECE hose, NO swivels, WTF!
Everything Intel is get what you pay for, if it doesn’t work or you need parts, don’t call your pool pro, we don’t work on the pools or their accessories.
Correct intex is more of a do it yourself pool.
Pool store employees get really butt hurt when you tell them you have the cheap pools. What you fail to acknowledge is that not everyone can afford a 2k+ pool. Our kids still deserve to have a pool to swim so you pool store people all need to chill. If you carried these less expensive pools we'd buy them from you but you don't.
You don't need a sand filter
No you don’t, you just need a strong enough pump
I can't find this vaccum anywhere!!!!
Everyone got stimulus checks and bought pools so all pool supplies are very hard to find now.
@@LifeLessOrdinary yeah true but I found one online for a normal price so yay
Walmart
Mine came with one long 24 foot hose and tangles itself up lol
Hmmmmm I’ve never had that problems with mine that’s odd
I bought mine in February this year and also came in one long hose which gets tangled up so badly that the cleaner only covered half of my 18ft pool (if that) ... the second time I used it, I went out to check on it and it was hanging from a big knot in the middle of the pool. I'm really upset that I wasted my money on it.
Sounds like the hose swivel wasn’t working right on that hose did you complain to intex? I’ve been lucky my hose never gets tangled.
@@LifeLessOrdinary it sounds like they have the previous version like I do, one continuous hose with no swivels, which they have obviously improved on now. Mine tangles up all the time and I would unthread it so I could untangle it, now the threads (which weren't as good as I see on yours) are getting worn from having to do this all of the time.
Ohhhhh ok will that makes sense now, I did realize older ones had one long hose. Thank you that’s great info because I get that question a lot. I appreciate your comment
Or a bigger pump
This thing sucks it really doesn't pick up much
What kind of pump are you using, because it doesn’t work on suction it needs to have a good pump with good pressure. Sorry you didn’t have good luck with yours.
@@LifeLessOrdinary I have 2100 sandfilter for a 15ft
It’s definitely not the strongest until on the market i really just use for debris and use my catfish vac for dirt and sand
