I was just thinking last week about getting a 16mm lens for a wider perspective, and lamented, "Where is Andrew to help me understand the Sigma against the Fuji". And here you are. Thank you
Loving my recently purchased Fuji xf 14mm f2.8. Just that bit wider and more interesting to my eye than the 16mm. Also considerably lighter and smaller.
I do wonder if the Sigma is faulty, though, since the usual consensus is that the central sharpness is especially strong.
Nice video Andrew!
Thanks!
The fuji 14mm is a gem as well. Picked up the Viltrox based on YT hype, Fuji still a smidge better, optically speaking.
Excellent comparison, I absolutely adore the 13mm F1.4 from Viltrox but never owned the Fuji one, I've added it to my eBay alert list :) - the loose aperture ring is something that seems common, a friend of mine owns the older 23mm F1.4 from Fuji and the aperture ring feels so loose to the point where it feels broken.
35 f1.4 user here ... same deal with my aperture ring. you breathe on it and it moves i stg. it's really the only drawback on such a fantastic lens with so much character~
I had Sigma 30mm f1.4 on my Sony camera back in the day and I loved it, but now as i’m using fujifilm cameras, no aperture ring is a hard pass for me. I knew that they will do it but still I was hugely disappointed seeing these Sigma lenses without aperture rings.
Why is it so important to you?
nice video. does the 13mm have a clickable aperture collar or is it smooth?
It has detents
@@AndrewGoodCamera thanks Andrew 🙂
Just a thing about the Sigma. I had to go through 4 copies of this lens to get an excellent one. The previous ones I tried were like the one diplayed in the video. The final copy which I kept is excellent even wide open.
Good… to see you not completely forget Fujifilm
You have the Fuji incorrectly listed as Sigma on the side by side price comparison.
Just a heads up you listed two lenses as Sigma at 2:18
The old good copy paste 😂
:/
Thanks for the comparo. btw, you have the Viltrox listed incorrectly as 14mm in the lens description/detail.
Thanks! A bit tired when I wrote that. ;)
❤❤❤
FYI, update the firmware on your Sigma or Viltrox lenses 1st before heading out!
I love my XH2 and Viltrox 13mm 1.4 lens. Looking for the 75mm 1.2
The 75mm is pure awesomeness. Sharpest lens in my collection.
TWO Sigma 16mm 1.4 in the picture? Mis-typed?
yes, the third one is Fuji
I've tried both the Fuji 10-24 and the Viltrox 13, and I always come back to the Fuji 16/1.4 because it's better than those two lenses. And I'm not saying it's perfect. (I'm also comfortable with the 16mm/24mm FF eq.)
can you give a little more detail? Why do you think 16/1.4 is better? What are the advantages of others?
@@dtyusufceylan The Viltrox 13mm is sharper than the 10-24 and the 16/1.4 is sharper than the Viltrox. At least with my copies of the lenses it was. So I'm only dealing with I.Q., not AF for example, as I used them mainly for landscapes. The advantage of the Viltrox is the focal length, for landscapes it is probably ideal for me. But as I said, I also really like the 16mm. The advantage of the 10-24 is versatility. (I wouldn't be surprised if Fujifilm introduced a 16/1.4 Mark 2 in the near future, given the demands of the new 40 megapixel sensor. That is, assuming they don't consider the 18/1.4 as a successor.)
@@jirihardos5154 thank you so much 😊
I heard the viltrox 13mm is WR, i was wondering if it can be used in winter environment? What’s the line that this lens can withstand, any idea bout that ? 🤔
2:13 Sigma is the cheapest
