About Jew in The City:
Launched in 2007 by founder and executive director Allison Josephs, Jew in the City (JITC, a 501c3) has quickly grown to be a leading voice in this generation. It is the only nonprofit dedicated to changing negative perceptions of religious Jews and making engaging and meaningful Orthodox Judaism known and accessible. This is achieved by highlighting an approach based on kindness, tolerance, sincerity, and critical thinking.
Painful experiences within the Orthodox world, caused by dysfunction and ignorance have tarnished the opinions of a sizable minority of insiders who find themselves Jewishly displaced. These traumatic versions of Orthodoxy then get amplified in modern day media and entertainment without the much needed nuance they require. This results in a distorted public perception of Orthodox Jews and Judaism, pushing less observant Jews away, creating shame around being Jewish, and fueling antisemitism.
Jew in the City addresses these challenges on every level:
*Repairing systemic issues from within - through our Tikun branch
*Rehabilitating and re-educating disenfranchised Haredi Jews - through our Makom branch
*Holding traditional media accountable for accurate reporting and creating original positive Orthodox content - through our Keter branch.
Our programs cause Jews to lean into their Judaism, create Jewish pride, and reduce antisemitism, bringing about lasting change for generations to come.
I am Iranian. We Iranian respect other people believe unfortunately regime in Iran made our country looks very bad always try to teach hate against Israel and united estate but Iranian don't believe regime anymore.

There's a question I'd really like to ask Loay. While I am thrilled that the UAE now has good relations with Israel, I worry about whether it will last. In particular, Loay says, "The UAE is blessed with leaders that instilled the teachings of tolerance to its people," and he goes on to say, "Gulf countries in general are monarchies. So, in monarchies we follow the leaders." Since all of us are mortal, this suggests to me that the current good relations could quickly change for the worse if a future monarch with less enlightened ideas were to succeed the current monarch. I'd like to hear Loay's thoughts on what, besides the enlightened ideas of the current monarch, will preserve the current good relations when he inevitably "shuffles off this mortal coil", something I hope won't happen until the far, far distant future.

He is right when i visited Israel and was in Tel Aviv and asking about Family Benayoun and i find them and i met Shlomo and told him iam grandson of Keddour he start crying and i called my Grandpa i suprised him i told him i told him iam in Tel Aviv and i find your great youth friend Shlomo and they both start Crying but my Grandpa was also sad he ask Shlomo why you did not send a letter not 1 letter in 40 years And in Tel Aviv it feels like i was by Family real Family

Iam Moroccan and my Grandpa,s best Friend was an Moroccan Jew Shlomo Benayoun they sold sheeps on the market but Shlomo was an great Craftman in coper and very good in decore copper plates but Shlomo leaves Morocco in 1957 and go Israel and Grandpa always talked about him but my grandpa was also angry and disipointed about Shlomo about his leaving Morocco without saying one word and he grew up with him in his youth and he told us Shlomo was very smart he have the tslent to create a job from nothing a man full of fruitfull ideas and thanks to Shlomo my Grandpa became rich he learn much from him he could not put him out his mind
I am 89yr. old Christian and love your video and your history. The Jewish Messiah is coming soon but most of the Jewish people don’t recognise Him yet, but they will according to the prophet Zechariah Chs.12, and 13; I pray you will come to know Him before that.

I'm from Britain I love Israel and the Jewish people. May Hashem bless them and protect them always.
This man is incredible. His point on being taught to hate is soo real. I am a Hindu and to us, all roads lead to god so i was confused when we moved to Saudi and they didn’t allow us to keep our religious photos or listen to our music. We left in a year. My dad went back after 15 yrs and met an Indian Muslim friend there who had become so crazy and basically said we need to eradicate the land of non Muslims. These media groups push this narrative to ensure they have power in the state. It is truly horrible. I’m glad this man is speaking out and we need more. Tolerance cannot be only on non Muslims but has to be fostered by Muslims too. Protect him at all costs pls!
I admire this man so much. I have some Palestinian friends who feel the same way and life is tough for them. Working together we can dispel the myths and work towards bringing about a lasting peace.
I love the Jewish people
I have watched a few videos of and interviews with Alshareef and applaud him for his 'conversion' and bridge building. However, his claim that (most) Muslims hate Jews (not Israel!) because of the media is erroneous. That hatred stems from the Quranic verses besmirching Jews. That is the elephant in the room. That hatred is merely reinforced by Muslim parents (even in countries such as Indonesia and Pakistan), education, the media and culture. I hope Alshareef will address that some day.
