@Aussie Dillon, Series /Match Win at gabba was that Significant because ,out of 11 players in the team around 8 players were having less than 2-3 match experience, some of the debuted in this test match only.
It all happened in the 116th over where Harbhajan would say “hard luck” for Brett Lee after an edge flew over the slip cordon for a 4. What happened with Symonds was unfortunate, but that was not racist or because he was dark-skinned. The Ind-Aus test series in 2008 in Australia was quite intense. A lot of awful umpiring decisions went against India and they were quite distressed. The Australian team then was equally known for being the world's best in cricket as well as in sledging. The sledging was going on for days in the test series and in one such incident Harbhajan Singh reached his boiling point and started fighting back against Symonds. It was during this that Symonds accused Harbhajan of racial abuse by calling him a monkey. It went to trails with the match referee and it was found out that he said "teri maa ki", which translates to 'your mom' (which seems nastier but maybe nasty was the norm in sledging those days). India also filed complaints against biased umpiring which saw the removal of Steve Bucknor. India won the next match but Australia won the series 2-1. The crowd incident was mostly their expression of anger and disappointment that Symonds couldn't take back sledging and India being denied a series win by unfair means.

Age of the players and matches Pant -23 year old with 17 odd matches(87 not out) Gill-21 year old with 3 matches(scored 91) Washington- 21 year old it was his debut (scored match saving 62 in first innings and great cameo of 21 odd in second innings and took 3 wickets) Thakur - 26 year old, this was his second match (scored 67 in first innings and took 7 wickets in two innings) Siraj- 27 year old, his 3rd match( took 5 wickets in second innings, was main subject of racism, lost his father during the tour and still didn't went back and spear headed the inexperienced bowling attack, highest wicket taker for india with 13 wickets) Natrajan -27 year old , debut test( took much needed important 3 wickets in first inning, he was net bowler but due to injuries he had to play, didn't see his newborn daughter due to tour) And we can't forget pujara's contribution, even though experienced and old guy but did he frustrated the Australians. Faced 200+ balls on last day, took 13 body blows in an inning just so he would not nick any ball. These all people were the stars in this test match. What an amazing journey!

Lads there's another match on 24th, Ind Vs Eng , quite a crucial match. If Tania wants to watch a 5days test match.she can watch the match and dillion you can explain her the game
💚👍 Match was tight & entertaining as always , Both Aussie - India played well, Aussie played better throughout the tournament just two days of cricket one in Sydney other at gabba that changed the history for India, Aussies were winning most of the sessions & deserved border-gavaskar trophy equally 👍🏆🌈
Not quite, it's quite the opposite actually. Apart from that freak session in which India bundled on 36, Australia were playing catch-up for most of the series. Agree on the Sydney test though, Australia were in good positions but I wouldn't say that any of the team quite dominated the other. It's just India did well at big moments throughout the series.
I think sledging is one of the important aspect of any sport not only cricket.. sledging is like icing on the cake from an entertainment perspective for the viewers.. sledging in cricket is nothing compared to fifa and nba... that being said audience or crowd are supposed to sit back enjoy and let the players do the talking.
Regarding that, I must tell that first symonds was involved in racial slur with harbhajan and then harbhajan called him monkey in Sydney test, after which Aussies came to India and were given a taste of their own medicine
Australian bowlers had an total experience of 300 matches in total but indian bowlers had only nearly 10 total matchs in total in the final test and they won it!!
I think most of the people haven’t understand that RACISM EXISTS IN DIFFERENT FORUMS AND WAYS .....FOR ME ANYONE FROM ANY WHERE SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR DOING CERTAIN GESTURE AND ABUSES......PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO KEEP YOUR DIGNITY AND RESPECT ...THIS IS Sports man ....this is the only place we don’t have politics normally ....but unfortunately even here in sports we are seeing certain gestures which are not tolerable...I wish people should know how to behave ...
Dillon you don't know any of the new generation players in India, sadly the comment section don't even know who the legendary Sachin Tendulkar & Steve Waugh are.
Dillion, point is that, racist behaviour from Aus crowd is regular thing faced by all teams. You cited Symonds incident in India which was indeed very shameful from Indian crowd, but happened 14yrs back. Such racist incidents rarely happens in Indian Stadium. And this time a rookie Indian pacers faced it, and many Aus fans called him a liar everywhere and tried to play it down as normal taunt.
We belong from a country where racism is alien like thing for us this country has people with skin colour like snow white to delicious dark chocolate and we are natural with that so it itself proves all people are same they just have different colours it no difference at all like if a white gets tanned will be brown and if a brown treats his skin he becomes white so what's the difference is in a person's mind nothing else.
yes what happened to symonds was also very depressing. and i'm also ashamed for that incident as an Indian. people should be more respectful towards each other.
Man you don't know anything about test cricket 5th day pitch is always very tough to play for batsman at any venue weather it is your home condition or foreign condition and against this power full and experienced bowling line up this not easy for or any team to chase 320 with this young batsmans and to chase 320 in 5th day of test cricket is never easy on any ground and when the ground is gabba then it's becomes more difficult
Dillon, those boring test match days are long gone...nowadays Test cricket is most exciting format...fyi, that Day 5 post tea session of Gabba test, I was sitting at one place one position, until Pant hitting that boundary to win the match...superstitious is one thing but I was not able to take my eyes from the tv..
No body forgets .. we also forgive. There are 100+ Aussie incidents .. ok ..Ricky asking catch as out...what happened then. Paine was one who started. It ...even in that series. Was from previous aus vs Ind series. In which these incidents took place. We were given crap first. And then take it when you come ..
Yes mate you are correct. Racism happens all over the world, its not just in Australia or India or some other country. There are stupids everywhere in the world. And those who commit these kind of acts are a disgrace to their country and to their city. As a Indian I am sorry for what happened with Symonds.
18:30 No buddy it isn’t easy at all to bat against the great Australian bowling line up on the fifth day of a test match in the fast and bouncy slaughtering pitch of Gabba.
The thing is, the incident happend 15 years ago (Oct 2007). Post that many things happend. Be it 2007-2008 India tour of Australia where not only they were racially abused, but also were the victims of deliberate cheating on field (SCG test specifically). And later one of the player (Harbhajan Singh) was falsely accused and banned from playing the last game. This didn't stopped there, and in 2010 there was a massive hate mongering spread all across Australia and which took many a violence incidents against Indian students. So much so that, that Aus PM has to intervene the situation. Later in 2012 and 2014 when India toured Australia, similar sort of things happend. Look I'm not justifying the incident with Symonds (RIP) by discarding it as one of incident happend 15+ years ago. And neither was my intention to counterbalance the whole scenario in favour of Indian players and team by saying that "THEY FACED/SUFFERED MORE". It's just when u brought up the incident that happend that way far (15 years) it just made me to aware people that what happend in subsequent years.
Racism is rampant in India. I have seen how Indians (especially the people from Delhi) behave towards people from North East or how they behave towards Africans visiting India! It exists due to unfamiliarity with a person's culture, background. I have never noticed racism in New York for example which is like a microcosm.
I dont knw, how the news is shown in Australia but Andrew Symonds was nvr said monkey. I cant really fully explain the incident in this chatbox. But Australian players since past has been known to be naughty. 😂

Pant -23 year old with 17 odd matches(87 not out)
Gill-21 year old with 3 matches(scored 91)
Washington- 21 year old it was his debut (scored match saving 62 in first innings and great cameo of 21 odd in second innings and took 3 wickets)
Thakur - 26 year old, this was his second match (scored 67 in first innings and took 7 wickets in two innings)
Siraj- 27 year old, his 3rd match( took 5 wickets in second innings, was main subject of racism, lost his father during the tour and still didn't went back and spear headed the inexperienced bowling attack, highest wicket taker for india with 13 wickets)
Natrajan -27 year old , debut test( took much needed important 3 wickets in first inning, he was net bowler but due to injuries he had to play, didn't see his newborn daughter due to tour)
And we can't forget pujara's contribution, even though experienced and old guy but did he frustrated the Australians. Faced 200+ balls on last day, took 13 body blows in an inning just so he would not nick any ball.
These all people were the stars in this test match. What an amazing journey!
Australia's mistake was to intimidate India by throwing a bouncer instead of taking India's wicket
If Australia had been captained by Ricky Ponting or Stevo Australia would have won
Both are very cunning
New excuse😂😂😂
Bring Ponting Steve or whoever you want, we will thrash Australia again and again!
@@aritramdhar Check out the success stories of India and Australia when Stevo and Ricky Ponting were captains
Then see if there is any correction in this arrogant reply
Tanya on watching a five day test match...and hitting the ball around bip boop...awww so cute 😂
If u had seen full 5 day match u would realise how difficult was the match to win for India
We love australian players like pointing bret Lee most of them ........they are champions bet we are not joke as well................. We like challenging sport and their passion.
Lads there's another match on 24th, Ind Vs Eng , quite a crucial match. If Tania wants to watch a 5days test match.she can watch the match and dillion you can explain her the game
India playing with youngster and Australia playing with there full strength players. It's hard
Australian is a worst sleadger in the crictaing history'🙏🙏🙏
I think sledging is one of the important aspect of any sport not only cricket.. sledging is like icing on the cake from an entertainment perspective for the viewers.. sledging in cricket is nothing compared to fifa and nba... that being said audience or crowd are supposed to sit back enjoy and let the players do the talking.
In test cricket 42 balls 49 runs is not easy specially it was not home condition.. and less wicket remaining
U as Aussies, i know it hurts.. But i love u... ❤..even to watch it over...
I agree with you and respect your view point....god bless you and i love Australians...
I am sorry from india what happened with symonds we still feel ashamed.
It wasn't easy at all, with all the main players injured and India playing with a substitute team
bro 3 worlds most dangerous bowler were playing fron aus.
and india was not having there full team so that it was difficult
Gill made his debute in this test series. Pant is India's wicketkeeper, Dhoni's replacement is what people consider him.
we all love all Australia cricketers....they are emotion😌.... specially Warner❤️
This Not Old India This Is new India And Super India
Highlights can't do justice to this match. You need to watch the struggle of both team's batsmen and bowlers for win
Gill is 21 year old and future of indian cricket
But Symond started first.. and we Indians were known for good behaviours actually
It was a test match, there is no limit for bouncers, they could also bowl wider in test match. 7RPO in a test match on last day is tough.
5:01 Mumbai land of racism
This is the best series I have ever seen!!
Surgical Strike on Australian Team 🤣🤫
Literally no front line bowlers in team India in that much
Well done India.
yes what happened to symonds was also very depressing. and i'm also ashamed for that incident as an Indian. people should be more respectful towards each other.
Really nice video guys ♥️
Dillon should teach her rules of cricket and you both can enjoy an ODi or T20
Aussie cannot beat Mighty India...
Scoring 300+ runs on the 5th day is difficult for any teams in the world
Man you don't know anything about test cricket 5th day pitch is always very tough to play for batsman at any venue weather it is your home condition or foreign condition and against this power full and experienced bowling line up this not easy for or any team to chase 320 with this young batsmans and to chase 320 in 5th day of test cricket is never easy on any ground and when the ground is gabba then it's becomes more difficult
worst day for Aussie Dillon😂
Chennai crowd will ask valimai update
18:30 No buddy it isn’t easy at all to bat against the great Australian bowling line up on the fifth day of a test match in the fast and bouncy slaughtering pitch of Gabba.
Such a great intro!!
Indian team best in the world 🇮🇳🇮🇳❤️
The thing is, the incident happend 15 years ago (Oct 2007).
See you at the Gabba Mate!!
And rest was history 😂
7 overs and 49 runs is hard to score in a test match man. It is even hard in odi to get.
And sorry to say but, Harbhajan said ma ki ... to Andrew, that is a hindi word and doesn't means monkey at all,and Harbhajan was banned for that only so it was people's anger for that. Heartfully for that🙏
Austrelian are very sweet and nice people ❤️👍🏻
It wasn't monkey what Harbhajan said... If you are from India it's a common slang... "Maa ki" Which was wrongly interpreted as monkey.. "Maa ki bahan ki"...
A day when both the team wins..
Tania is like cricket is a sport? Come on its tennis and football.
We lost the final against Aussie... ❤ Equal
Washington Sundar scored 100 runs in 2 innings and took 3-4 key wickets in his debut test match. This one. He was a net bowler before this. His dad scolded him because he didn't finish the game.
