4th week without GAS in my neighborhood... Can't bath, can't cook... I know all the problems I'm agree things are worse but in the other hand other people are getting GAS with no issue. I think the area priority is playing part in this shortage or load shaddings.

If Pakistan somehow manages to produce enough safe and economic electricity, then we can install electric stoves, geysers, ovens and heaters. Also, we can install automatic radiators in our houses that only work if the temperature falls below a certain limit. Living in Germany, Winters are a lot easier. Its -2 outside and I am wearing simple clothes. I don't even need a blanket at nighttime. Every facility I just talked about is available here. We should take a bit of inspiration from these people. Radiators are only safe method of electric heating imo.
kabhi germany ke electricite bill ki per unit cost dekhna. wahe EU ki sab se mehngi bijli he on average 30 cents per unit, idhr pakistan me residential meter pe max Rs. 12.5 -13/14 per unit cost ati he kyo ke is me bht zyada subsidy hoti he.
@@bdulAhad0 No doubt electricity is expensive in Germany. But it's there and even not so rich households can afford it and use it for all purposes. Some rich people might even charge their electric cars. Electricity produced in Germany is not so green, ranking pretty low in the list of EU countries.

Try to find a Heater of Rinnai company i don't remember its model name but its hybrid and that needs to work both on gas and electric but its usage of gas and electricity is negligible google it you will get to know its price is around 7.5k - 10k

How could you forget CNG stations? They are the major cause of Gas crisis.
No they are not dear. Their share in consumption is less than 10 percent. Its the power and residencial that makes for major chunk
Major cause is the fertilizer industry. Since 1960, almost every ferilizer industry in Pakistan has been running on natural gas.
India was suffering for domestic lpg need till 2013..
After that Mr modi came, he solve this problem brilliantly, govermet policies matters a lot, this suggestion are good but govermet should take some action..
Some people are using compressors also for the purpose of sucking more gas. Affecting all the other houses in the same lane.

Gas is much cheaper in Pakistan, we in India are paying more (even after adjusting for currency).
Compare both country's per capital every thing is Lot's of things r cheaper in India but compare India to China ,Chinese are living lot cheaper with there income.

Almost every winter I get up at 4am to turn on my geyser so that I can have hot water for Fajr.
Getting out of my blissfully cozy duvet to go out into the freezing cold yard to get to the geyser is literally the most difficult thing to do in the world!!

@@aliawgr81 Bhai I am comparing increase in prices and not the actual prices. Obviously I know that natural gas is always going to be cheaper. Moreover, if you take into account inflation it still did not increase that much.

@@redsmile3663 brother, what I meant to say is that the cost of generation and transmission for electricity is so high that the government can not even think about reducing the prices. The scenario for gas is a little different, the government is not bearing many losses in gas transmission, but instead of facilitating us the whole structure for the bill was altered.

Both devices proposed by SNG are almost useless. What they should do are couple of things...
1. Give incentive to customers if they use tankless water heater that are very common in Europe, Japan and North America (few countries/continent that I know about)
2. Offer leased/rental tankless water heaters (with no additional incentives)

I have been to the UK for my higher education back in 2013 and I used to top up my gas card and there was a boiler installed in my bathroom when I need hot water mai tap on karta tha tou garam pani ajata tha aur tubhi boiler gas consume karta tha we need to apply the same policy jis mai gas cards hun jitne required gas chaiye utne hi consume hogi aur isse gas misuse bhi nahi hogi.

Junaid bhai mein Lahore mein DHA ka rehaishi hon. Yahan pe saal pehlay aik survey howa tha, gas pipes ka oor hamaray ghar k bahir wali pipe pe leakage tha. Jo team aaiey thi, aik toe unhon nay leakage note karnay k baad koi solution nhi diya. Unhon nay kaha k aap aik application apne bill k saath jama karwaein, toe phir kaam agay ho ga. Unko humnay bill wagair jama karwa diya oor phir saal se zaida ho gaya hai, oor abhi tak koi pipe change nhi howa. Agar main pipe ki leakage hai, usko control toe sui gas walon ko karna chahiye. Agar woh itni bedardi se gas zaya kar rahe hein, toe aap kaisay keh sakte hein, k baki loog conserve karein. Slab system aik na-insaf nizam pe bana howa hai. Jab zaida paisay lenay hon, toe aapko higher slab mein dal deinge. Koi accountability nhi. Inko deen oor akhrat bholi hoi hai, khali wali karwaein.
There is an option to buy japanese gas heaters if you can find them
They are usually very efficient and very safe.

This is sad. While people in the west take utility services for granted, Pakistan is struggling to provide these essential services. I can't imagine a utility company pleading users to reduce their consumption due to shortages. Pakistan is in extremely bad state but people will continue to blame the governments, who in turn will blame the previous governments, and the cycle continues. While Pakistanis are hyper nationalists they have zero ownership or accountability mentality. I agree with Junaid, people need to own these problems and instead of blaming others should act responsibly themselves. This includes taking the responsibility of carrying out gas explorations, and finding alternative renewable sources of energy.
Greetings from Mumbai. One more informative programme, this time on the topical issue about natural gas supplies to Pakistani consumers.
I liked the format of the video - Q&A session covering all the aspects of the issue even without involving the other party on the screen. Almost all the dimensions of these issues were touched upon.
For Indians, the issues appear to be -
a) There is huge Shortage in Supplies of Natural gas to the gas distribution companies like Sui Northern and Sui Southern Gas
Company (SSGC).
b) Demand outstripping the supplies, which exacerbates during winter.
c)Due to shortage of supplies, there is a need to conserve gas
d)Shift from Gas based heaters geysers to electrical equipment
While going through last Financial report (2018) of SSGC on their website, it seems SSGC is in a financial mess - with negative RoCE, negative profits and gross margins are negative for years together!! There is no financial report published for FY2019 till date, raising doubt on present financial condition. Its net worth appears to be negative but still share price is trading in positive, that is surprising.
From Fy2018 report it appears there are huge outstandings from Bulk users like Power cos, etc . It is not clear how much margin is allowed by Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for SSGC to keep for different consumers. From the financial results of FY0218 report its shows either SSGC has higher operating costs ( Capital employed + Opex) than margin available or it is giving huge discounts to some consumers or margin allowed by OGRA is artificially suppressed to benefit end-users.
Price of piped natural Gas for the domestic consumer in Karachi (for the usage of 200 SCM/month) is PKR 553/MMBtu or INR 25.4/MMBtu..while in Mumbai for Oct 2020 was INR 40/MMBtu !! Mumbai has flat rate irrespective of qty consumed.
Converting from gas-based geysers/ heaters to electrical will be a costly proposition, as cost of operation is lower in gas because of lower cost of gas compared to electricity rate
So the major issue is - availability of gas & poor financial condition of SSGC.SSGC should be given the freedom to purchase gas, make its own arrangement for purchase, storage gas to meet the shortfall, OGRA may like to review the pricing formula so that SSGC makes money ..Pull-up SSGC to cut costs, Make all efforts to recover dues from defaulting bulk consumers.
The situation looks very grim in short-medium term also, unless the Central government steps in.

I'm from abbottabad and in the recent two days during the heavey rainfall the temperature decreases to 3-4 degree centrigrade and during night their is not even that part of gas available that even the pilot of heater isn't burning
Gas heater is too dangerous for life but more cost efficient than electric heater. Electricity is too expensive. Government needs to focus on electricity rather than gas or implement some other ways. Everything has alternative
You mentioned the automatic operating system and apps for Punjab, KPK and Islamabad. Kya Karachi (or Sindh and Balochistan for that matter) Kay lye bhi aesi koi facility hay?

Im not an expert of miningor smth but still I feel like im listening some chapter from Pakistan studies. Sir Plz tell ppl about OGDC, which is real issue. Tell ppl about mining. Which companies are given contracts for drilling? Why there is no progress? What stops Pakistan from drilling using its own oil? If iran drills petroleum products from its Baluchistan (irans province) than why Pakistan cant do same?
Tell ppl why Pakistan cant buy gas from iran, which kinds of sanctions are there on iran.
SUI NORTHERN governs the distribution only in KPK and in Punjab. Not in Baluchistan or Sindh which SUI SOUTHERN take care of it.
What about electric geysers ? Can heat water in a matter of minutes. We use geysers for not more than 30 minutes per day.
I have suggestion. The govt should ban the gas geyser. That's it. People will never listen nicely, and they'll not pay if the prices are hiked. The govt should also give a deadline to the existing geyser owner a time of 3-5 years

Now in market there are instant geysers, which turn on only when you need to take a shower. They have a special
water piping system which heats up water rapidly with normal gas pressure. Its just a basic mechanical and thermodynamic design.
these geysers cost only 8K, and have saved my gas consumption.
I suggest u too make a video on this tech-device also

Moreover electric heaters brands are very cheap especially in summers, people should shift to these eco friendly heaters.
