Bless your sweet heart for posting this. I couldn't watch either game live, but I'm Australian.... so I have double reasons to watch. Thanks again mate. You're the man! 😊😊
Izan Almansa played for the Ignite in this game, and now he plays for the Perth Wildcats as part of their Next Stars program for the '24/'25 season. Exciting talent.
If these players r supposed to b the first pick n second pick in 2024 draft class this is going to b the worst draft in history they all look like they all belong on the bench possibly 7 or 8 player of the bench smh 🤦♂️
It's funny looking back now, because the first pick IS in this game.... he just doesn't play for Ignite. I'm Australian, so I'd done a lot of research on Sarr before these games, and I was already pretty hyped about him as the potential number one pick. These two games obviously got me even more pumped about Sarr's potential, and further solidified him as the guy I would take number one if I was drafting. What sucks is.... Sarr's coach for the Perth Wildcats (John Rillie) really didn't use him effectively at all this season. He played Sarr in VERY sporadic minutes throughout the NBL season, and really stalled his development. The same thing for the young Aussie point guard Ben Henshall, who played really well in both of these exhibition games. Henshall hardly got any minutes during the regular season, and he can thank "Coach" John Rillie for tanking his draft stock. Henshall and Sarr were clearly better talents AND more productive than every one of Perth's veterans aside from Cotton and Pinder. Sarr is so talented that he'll still be a top-3 pick, and likely number 1 overall... but Henshall should have been a first round NBA draft pick this season, and because of Rillie's ineptitude and unwillingness to play the young guys, he definitely won't get drafted by an NBA team this June. It would have made some sense to "play the veterans" if Perth were smashing everyone, but they weren't. They had a pretty average season, and they would have had a much BETTER season if they played Sarr and Henshall the minutes they deserved.
There aren’t supposed to be the draft picks lmao. Maybe 1 or 2 players from g league actually make an nba roster every year. The rest are college players. You know nothing about how the nba works my man.

I wanted to see what the Matas hype was all about. So far, I'm not impressed
